these old ones are pure quality, the Steve Martin ones are pure shit, the perfect comedian to play him now would be Sacha Baron Cohen ;) another Jewish comedy genius like Peter Sellers.
My father and I were watching Tv one Friday night when we happened to come across this movie. Right from the begining we laughed and laughed. It got so bad we got yelled at from mom for waking her up with our giggling. Who could think a Pink Panther movie could bring a father and son closer together. Thank you Peter Sellers for all the laughs!
@5inthehole I truely can believe that. I really think Clouseau pp films are movies meant for men anyway. I can see how father and sons would enjoy it together. Slapstick and split second timing. Sellers was genius and brilliant as the bumbling mustached karate chopping Clouseau.
@clouseau186 To say that the Clouseau Pink Panther films are "Meant for men anyway" is a silly statement. When I was a kid, me and my Mum used to end up almost on the floor with laughter at these films and many other comedies. What is it about the films that make you think they're designed exclusively for male-bonding? What has gender to do with it? I don't mean to be rude but this is one of my favourite films so I'm mildly outraged that according to you this film isn't meant for me... :D
@natarieful Again I did not mean to offend you with that comment. It was not supposed to be taken in gender offense. Please accept my apologies. I was referring someways that the slapstick tends to generate with men and male bonding with the films. I will word my statements more carefully to not offend.
@natarieful Also I wonder if you are attacking this other gentelman that is saying it brought him and his father together as well. 5inthehole. Check out his comments. I really think you took it too personally and need to lighten up. It is just an opinion and some people share it with me. Check the comments below or did you already see 5inthehole's comment already.
@clouseau186 I think you misunderstand me, my only point was that I disagreed with your statement that the Sellers Pink Panther films were meant to be enjoyed by men only. 5inthehole simply said that he watched the films with his father as a child, how could I have a problem with that? I also disagree that I need to lighten up, I'm very 'light' already, thanks .. I do have, after all a deep appreciation for the Pink Panther films unlike (according to you) the rest of the female population :D
@natarieful Lets just call it a day I will never completely understand your anger and obviously you will never understand my comments (even if I try to explain.) I have never gone negatively back and forth with anyone on here. Best of Luck to you.
@clouseau186 Another amazing thing that happend for the first time was that we were so busy laughing at past gags that we were missing the present ones. That very seldomly happends unless the comedy is of the highest level. It happend for all the Lom/Sellers Panther films. Just great stuff, I wish I could forget them so I could watch them for the 1st time again!
@5inthehole exactly because there is so much genius gags and slapstick in this extremely genius film. Sellers was genius as the bumbling mustach-ed karate chopping Chief INspector Jacques Clouseau. Poor Cato and Poor dreyfus.
Mr.Stuckerstuff, Mr.Stuffsucker, Mr.Stiffsticker, Mrs.Liverlilly, Mrs.Loveliver, Prof. Fasbender, Prof. fasbinder. A beekeeper who has lost his voice, a cook who thiks he's a Gardiner and a witness to murder. LOL love this movie.
Sir, this scene is nothing short of genius. Peter Sellers was genius and brilliant as the bumbling mustached karate chopping Chief Inspector Jacques Clouseau. Poor Cato and poor dreyfus.
I laught out loud at the Pink Panther movies. I can still hear my dad laughing out loud to this this day. He would take me to the theater as a boy to see these. He loved them and he loved this scene most!! I will never even watch the remakes with steve martin because I do not want my fond memories tainted in anyway. Original rules!!!

@quindoger Trust me when I say your not missing out on a single laugh. The new ones are complete trash compared to the old ones. It's ashame because Steve Martin is a good actor, he's just not the right actor for it though. That and whoever wrote/directed it made nothing but bad and childish jokes.
I said murder?!!!!!!!!!!!
