  • You talk to fuckin' much about stuff people didn't look up. Just get to the point/tutorial. -.-

  • i got my hands on a pentax k2

  • This is so helpful, thank you :)

  • I have one of these but it needs to be refoamed. would you reccomend it?

  • What brand would you recommend?

  • what happens if the thing used to open the back fell in?

  • This should be called "how to potentially ruin your lens by laying your camera body on it." also, why did such a badly created video need so many editors? There's only one scene.

  • WHen you put film into this cam, do you advance until the photo meter says 0 or 1 ?

  • Is using Kodak 400 35mm colored film good for a Pentax ME Super?

  • So you can't use colored film with the Pentax ME super?

  • I can't advance the film when I closed the back of the camera. But when I leave it open, I have no problem advance the film. What should I do? I've been trying so many times and it still doesn't work

  • This video was useless and I most likely ruined a cassette of film. You can't see how to thread the film properly or anything else correct for that matter. Beware.

  • @Cyronaseez Yeah I ruined 2 rolls of film. He really needs to show what he's doing upclose

  • my film wont go in! im trying to use just regular kodak 35mm into a canon ae-1. help!!

  • the first thing you need to do is take the film out of the box!? now i see where I was going wrong.

  • Is it alright to load the film in daylight or must it be in a dark room?

  • He's so terrible at loading film.

  • Haha I have this same camera

  • you totally screwed up lawl

  • I am new to film photography and I already know this guy is fucking retarded.

  • @sweetmems thanks for the info

  • can you make a video on how to take pictures with that camera, with flash, the asa, the metering, indoor/outdoor.etc thank you

  • 125 speed film= 7 mp this guy is crazy

  • Comment removed

  • rubbish

  • cool tips! do you know you can control this camera with an infrared remote? I know..you're saying "no, this cameras as no IR receiver". but.. Yap you cant control it wirelessly! great for long exposures and remote shooting! check out how at this link (copy to browsers address bar): remoteALL.bymac.org

  • my film caught.. but the rewind leaver isn't moving when I advance it!

  • @gracesATX im having the same exact problem. ! it moves but not all the way back.

  • I gave that Pentax Spotmatic too but the battery cover somehow stuck and I cant open it . Anyone know how to fix it :(

  • How do I take the film out of the camera?

  • @saraleahcullen Once the film is used, all the way, press the button on the bottom and start turning the winder. After yu start, release the button, it will stay. Wind it up all the way, then wind it more. If its not all the way in, the exposed films pix are gone... forever... So wind it alot. Then open the door like he said, and pop it out. Then bring it to a 24 hr photo store to develop it.

  • Its about right. If you zoom far enough, you se eike sand. For example, one grain is one pixel...

Like if you had coulored sand, or coulored rocks. The rocks absorb more light, but they are bigger, and if each rock can be one colour, the pic is there, just low quality. While its more like 9, not 7, it is true. You cant zoom in infinatly and have it perfect. Instead of square, they are roundish.

It is about right. it is equivelent...

  • That looks like a Pentax K1000-I was recently given one from an old friend-and I used it earlier today and I was wondering how come my film didn't come through. I'm gonna try it again later on tonight and see what happens. I have two SLRs and I wanna get back into using film as well as continue to use digital. Thx 4 posting.

  • And, what better way than to scratch your film with horizantal cinch marks than by squeezing it by rotating the rewind knob, when you can see the rewind knob turn as you advance film anyway! Call yourself a professional photographer? I cant wait to see your method of loading roll film! 'Now you can test your film's caught by winding it all the way onto the exposed side. Now, the film isn't taped that side, so you can't wind it back.' I bet you do this. You can't even load 35mm, the easiest film.

  • That's it, balance your camera on it's lens and let a flimsy plastic container stop it from tipping. What better way to ruin your expensive piece of precision machinery? Seriously, take the lens out and put the camera's cap on when loading, dipshit.

  • This make no sence!

  • You sir are retarded.

  • There is no pixels in film cameras...

  • @fgervais1978 Its about right. If you zoom far enough, you se eike sand. For example, one grain is one pixel...

Like if you had coulored sand, or coulored rocks. The rocks absorb more light, but they are bigger, and if each rock can be one colour, the pic is there, just low quality. • 3200 ISO film = 3MP camera

    125 ISO = 7MPcamera

    In what fucking galaxy?

this guy keeps pulling shit out of his ass.

AND FYI 125 is medium speed. below 100 is slow... you "self-proclaimed professional photographer" dip-shit.

  • @masterhellz Its about right. If you zoom far enough, you se eike sand. For example, one grain is one pixel...

Like if you had coulored sand, or coulored rocks. The rocks absorb more light, but they are bigger, and if each rock can be one colour, the pic is there, just low quality. • MICROPROCESSOR

  • shitty camera angle

  • tell me why ? why in American's films always guys saying bullshit over time.. never say objectively.

  • "ISO 125 is like 7 megapixels" what the??

  • What a really shitty angle for this.

  • cool video, just got an olympus om10 from ebay with 3 lenses for like 40 quid, bargain. but need some advice. can you get special effects lenses for this camera. as well as fish eye lenses? am very amateur so forgive my ignorance, cheers!

  • I've just bought myself a 35mm, and I don't really know much about photography, could you recommend some film for just simple shooting outside.

  • @lordlittlemore 200 or 400. both are pretty good all purpose speeds and will do just fine outside. If you shoot inside, use a tripod.

  • Is there meant to be a small gap under the film rewinder after you load the film?

  • that camera is a pentax spotmatic

  • is this camera similar to the canon TX? i have that one and it seems to be pretty similar

  • this is great, thanks! and i love how you talk

  • one must be a retard if one don't know this .

digitalpictures is number 1 because one have it ready to use fast without need for money .

  • WTF? How could you compare ANY 35mm film to a digital picture? Ok, how about I use your unrealistic digital-film comparison guide, or should I use PROVEN comparisons? I happen to know for a fact that to get anywhere near the image definition of Ilford Pan F 35mm film you will need AT LEAST 25 MEGAPIXELS, not 11! And don't even get me started on the same film in 120 format! Well, okay, while I'm here, you will need 100 MEGAPIXELS! So don't even start trying to compare film and digital.

  • @mrghosty2010 NICE.

  • thanks bro

  • DONT REWIND LIKE THAT,YOU CAN SEE THE NOB TURN AS YOU ADVANCE THE FILM

  • @crazygeorgelincoln not always. If it is tight you can. If its loose you cant.

  • "if you think of it in terms of pixels this is like having a... 7 megapixel camera"

No. You're a fucking moron. That... No, god damn it.

Film speed is comparable to ISO not resolution, you're mentally retarded, go kill yourself.

Also, actual film loading begins at 2:05

  • hell yeah pentax sp1000!!

  • thank u

  • Comment removed

  • @KKSpringyfeet no this is a pentax

  • Don't ever compare film to digital!!

  • 2:08 to see when he puts film into the camera

  • You saved me so much confusion, my ae-1 before had reached 30exposures + & when I went to develop the film it was blank! I checked the tightness by puling the lever on it last time & voila! It caught on & I had a full roll of pics. Thanks :3

  • @Dchikiz Yes. The flim will stay flat and event when you turn the knob to feel the tighness. You only scratch the film only you force it all the way.

  • I want. :) How much ths one?

  • thanks you for helping me:))

  • If you're talking about megapixels then it's not at all to do with the ISO. If you think of it in modern camera terms, film is the equivalent of the sensors we use now. So all SLR are higher quality because the 'sensor' is very large.

  • film is so aggravating

  • Thanks, it helped me a lot loading my first film camera xD

  • That looks like my (very) old Pentax s1a Still my favorite SLR a very very

sharp lens and so nice to handle.

Bet I get slagged off by the digital users but hey I,ve got one of those

as well otherwise I couldn,t upload to YouTube so yes they have got

    their uses!?!

  • Horrible video. Next time don't do it upside down genius.

  • I cant open the back for my Nikon FE. I have followed the directions in the manual, but it simply does not open. It is just like the camera in this video except it has an unlock button at the bottom. Any thoughts is appreciated.

  • @stavropulos haha, making photography 'that's what she said' jokes :P

  • @ilovemyselfbetter i was thinking that... also thinking of the number of dirty jokes that photographers probably have

  • It's funny that I used to do this all the time and now I need to watch a YouTube video to do it...

  • what kind of camera is that?

    curious.

  • thanks for talking about loading & film speed. very helpful! :)

  • oh my god I cannot even begin to say how much of a fucking noob you are....this video sucks! poor angle, don't even know how to actually load the camera right! youre advancing the film without closing the rewind knob down, youre holding it down with your thumb noob! hahaha what a joke

  • JUST bought this cam with 2 lenses for 20 $ not sure why though i havnt used actuall 35 mm film in ages LOL this cam is fun to play with though LOL

  • That is how NOT TO LOAD FILM the leader should never go right through the take -up spool.

  • what kind of film should i use for shooting skateboarding

  • @ipodskate1 Assuming you'll be in high lighting situations in the sun with fast action, you'll want to use a high speed film. higher than 400, 800 or higher would be best.

  • are you CHEWING GUM? wtf? this video sucks

  • That's the same camera I have. :D

  • how to put battery

  • mines is a minolta 7700i, i cant turn it of, the stripes are on the screen

  • God this is terrible... bend the tab of the leader, just enough to help it catch in the winding tab slot...

  • The speed film has nothing to do with imaginary pixels... It's about ISO, the sensitivity of the film (or of the sensor if you relate to digital camera's)...

The angle this is shot, is really bad also.

  • Thank you very much for your clear instructions on loading the Pentax K1000. I've been given one, and I've stuffed two rolls by incorrect loading. My previous film camera had auto-load and I haven't used film for 8 years.

  • this guys a fuckin joke

  • which speed is better for no flash picture. like for indoors??? im a beginner i need some help..

  • Your VOICE!!!!! <3

  • thank you! was getting really annoyed with this camera until i found this video lol

  • watch?v=ACz-1w4tkXs&feature=related

this guy does a better job on showing you how to load film in this same camera plus a better camera angle

  • would i use 3200 to shoot something like skateboarding

  • @isenor15 yes

  • fucking smart to rewind the film to check if its loaded, now I cant get the film out of the box. Faen!

  • I love the fact that this guys presses the film against the curtain.. good way to turn the camera into garbage..

  • I have the SAME EXACT CAMERA. So weird

  • Would have been nice to position the camera in an over-head view, but a great tutorial nonetheless. The first time I used this type of camera, I did not know I needed to insert the end of the film into the slot and advance it once. Because of this, none of my shots developed. Thanks for posting!

  • Why the fuck do you guys talk about wich is better: slr od dslr?

It doesnt matter if its digital or film, its the fucking photographer that matters.

This guy is just showing how to load a film into a camera.

  • Another way to tell if film is loaded: the rewind knob typically turns as you advance to the next slide......

  • i have a pentax that was made in ussr.

  • thank you very much, this helped me out a lot. I always seem to have trouble loading the film. The explanation about the different films helped me too.

  • thankyou this helped me so much!!

  • Comparing the quality of the picture with the megapixel of a certain camera is one of the worst analogy ever. Megapixel determines the resolution of the camera. 1 megapixel will have a smaller resolution than a 5 megapixel camera, but it doesn't mean that it will be reduced in quality. Film speed is equal to the noise of certain digital cameras nowadays. You should not be mixed up between the two.

  • Very good instruction for beginners, thanks for posting, I've learned and now feel much more prepared.

    Greetings from Brazil!

  • is it okay that if i put the film in the camera just what u did in here and JUST closed the cover without the film loaded (which im talking about the 2:55)? like i closed the cover even the film didnt catch it.

  • good video, but damn get the words out of your mouth.

  • Man now we all use flash memory for everything

  • @abcrunk4 yeah I love it but dude gave me a faulty one so sometimes the shutter won't fire and the advance lever won't wind but it's pretty easy to use, but I'm leaning more towards a point n shoot like a contax t2/t3

  • If you guys didn't know, it's best to put on the film in a dark room to use more film. I still find it odd that when you put in the film, your supposedly to get the film to lay flat on the back. And here it isn't, that part always confuses me. Because I'm scared that I messed up.

  • bad analogy, more like a shutterspeed and iso equation for quality instead of megapixels

  • Quick question, I have been taking pictures with my slr camera but recently my little brother has wound the rewind lever a small bit (no more than a turn or so). Should I not take any more photos with this film, I am worried that it may have moved the film inside the camera and may ruin pictures. Lemme know! Thanks

  • Can anyone recommend any good film for casual shooting, portraits, and landscapes? I just got an ae-1.

  • @hyphydreezy 400 is the usual best allrounder

  • @hyphydreezy Do you like your ae-1?

    Thinking of getting one!

  • 400

  • @Starsara100

Canon eps 1000f - theyre cheap and really good (:

  • ISO 50 Is equivalent to having a 25 MP camera. ISO 3200 is equivalent to 6 MP.

  • Hey! Load the camera....Not talk bout film speed!

  • @stavropulos NO? those are good info!

  • @stavropulos haha, making photography 'that's what she said' jokes :P

  • Hey

Im 14 and I live in London and Im looking for a good digital SLR camera at a gd price,

Does anyone have gd suggestions for me?

I already have a Olympus om20 film camera and have used it and developed photo's,

I am indeed very intrested in photography :)

    Thankyou x

  • @starsara100 : The 1000D seems to have a lot more noise issues at higher resolutions and higher ISO values, so my advice is to skip the 1000D and go over to the 450D.

But, Nikon has some good models in the semi-professional range too, so best is too look at both brands.

They both made some astonishing analog models, so they are no newbees when it comes to SLR camera's (Whether it be digital or analog ones.)

Send me a private message if you need more information.

    Owner of a Canon 450D.

  • @Dutch3DMaster

If you were to compare Canon 450D to Nikon D3000 which one is better to get?

  • i use the leader of the film too, more economic...i sometimes get 38 exposures on a roll of 36

  • beautiful camera, i was recently given its amazing. im looking to get a new d-slr but the t2i is out of stock everywhere! Dx

  • i load my film into my vivitar in bright light.. does that damage the film?

  • I just got my Pentax K1000, my first camera ever. Slightly intimidating but more excited to just learn photography from the ground up. So thanks for this dude. :)

  • @killerlipsonrai I have also just recieved my first Pentax K1000. How is yours?

  • yesterday I've ordered a Zenit e 35mm slr from e-bay :) hope it works :) my first film camera :)

  • a slr 35mm camera with 100 film -- is about = to about 21mp

  • would it be possible to load 120 film into a 35mm slr?

  • @nickimmm no

  • Good video but I have a slight issue, I don't know what I did wrong but I can't seem to advance it anymore (using the lever thingie), when I first tried it, it did work but right now it doesn't.

I can pull it maybe an inch but then it just doesn't go any further.

Any idea why this is and how I can prevent it from happening?

Btw, it's an Minolta XG-1 and I bought it today :D

  • this video's angle is terrible, i am a beginner and i can't see a damn thing you're doing

  • @malurekalu Hmm, well most of this stuff will make sense when you actually see the camera. :)

  • @TheBboyUneek Yeah but if you're looking at an slr camera for the first time and someone tells you to "put the film into the slot on the end of the camera" it would be prudent to actually show what that looks like. This video angle doesn't really give you a clear image, which is what I was saying. (Also, I'm not alone in thinking that, as you can clearly see by reading the comments below, but thanks anyway for your reply)

  • Cool! He's using a Pentax k1000 :3

  • decent video, besides the comparison of film and digital...125iso = 7mp? ahhaha oh well...

  • @xkrypton what's your interpretation?

  • 125 iso = 125 iso on a really good digital camera, because crappy dslrs wont give you grain fine enough like 125iso film...

  • okay this may not pertain to this topic but.. I've been thinking of getting into film photography and buying a nikon fm 10. I have no clue what film photography is or its importance besides it using a film. how do you upload (if there is a way) film photographs on your computer. say if i wanted to upload so i can put it on on my myspace/facebook.? thanks.

  • @megacuh

The easiest way to upload it to facebook would be just to scan the picture after its developed. If you dont have a scanner many drug stores like cvs can scan photos onto a disk, which you then could put into your computer to upload to fb.

  • cool that looks very much like my camera.

  • im pretty new at film photography and I'm kinda confused about ASA...Lets say i use a Kodak 200 film..do i have to specifically set the ASA on the camera to 200 or am I free to choose from 12-1600?? kinda confused, need help on this.

Btw, I'm using a Pentax Me Super

  • @3137371 it should be set at your film speed. if im correct, ASA=ISO.

  • @chaosrealm93 ouh ok...thnx =D

  • you would have to set it too 200 if you have a 200 film like if he would have used 3200 in the video he would have changed it to 3200

  • i have this

  • thanks man

  • uhm, I can't see ANYTHING! you should make one closer up.

  • THANK YOU! im new to photography. i was wonderinf if you ned batteries to use this camera?

  • yeah you need watch batteries like 1.55v batteries

  • i use SR44. 1.5V silver Oxide batteries in my olympus om20 :)

  • Thank you thank you!! My photo teacher doesnt explain it well at all.

  • It's not an Olympus it's a Pentax K1000!

  • what kind of camera is this i dont know anything about cameras?

  • This is a 1979 model Olympus 0M-10 SLR camera

  • That's an old Pentax KX isn't it? I have the exact same model. Nice and reliable workhorse, no unnecessary gimmicks. Only thing electronic is the exposure meter.

By the way, i use exaclty the same way to load my films except i don't rewind the film so aggressively, just a tiny amount back so you can feel the tension. I have retracted the film also once..
