  • I played the hell out of this game at the Cici's Pizza about 15 minutes from my house...now the room it used to be in is a break room where the unashamedly disgusting workers sleep and smoke packs of cigarettes in. That's what hurts, man.

  • I Wish I Was Born In 1987, Then I Can Play This At The Arcade In Walmart. My Mom Works There. When Her Old Boss, J, Retired From Being The Manager At Walmart, All Heck Gone Loose. AS A MATTER OF FACT NOW ITS A PLACE WHERE DUMB WANNABE MANAGERS WORK THERE

  • No! The N64 had so many good games despite its limited library.

  • The N64 was supposed to be released in 1995 and this game was to be one of the flagship titles... In the end, the console was delayed until near the end of 1996, in Europe in 1997... By that time the console had changed name from Ultra 64 to N64 and well... we know the rest of the story... it wasn't as revolutionary as we hoped... the lack of memory for textures being one of the main reasons. The console we built are Mario64 and other developers struggled to develop good games on it.

  • game graphics look like the PlayStation One

  • @TheGaminNoobZ The ps1 could not run these graphics

  • Still the best arcade racing game to date IMO.

  • why doesnt wii release the arcade version of the games instead of the crappy console ports..i love killer instinct but i have it 4 snes,,it would be great to get an arcade version it would be kick ass

  • this game actually came out in 1994.

  • man....i miss the arcade at walmart

  • CHOOSAAAN'

  • NINTENDO ULTRA 64??? Why didn't anyone warn me about this new console that's going to come out in ten years ago?

  • @kwabara1983 acho que é possivel usando o Mame32, mas acho que precisa ter um bom hardware

  • "Coming to your home in 1995 only on Nintendo ULTRA 64!!!" ÉPICO!!

Gostaria que a Nintendo voltasse a fazer coisas desse tipo hj em dia, bons tempos. Classico

  • @supremokibitoshin lol so many spics in the usa

  • hhhhhhhhhhhh old game i get used to playd evry wicken in the game store

  • These sounds sound so sweet in a big arcade when the volume is cranked up damn loud. Just the beginning blasted way up sounds sick in the arcade.

  • Man it still bums me out that this game and Killer Instinct 2 didn't turn out right for Nintendo 64. Still, I remember being nine years old and staying up all night playing this and Mario 64 way back in December of '96 when I first got it, it was still loads of fun, but noticably the graphics and somewhat the music and sound effects weren't quite as good as the arcade. Getting your windshield pooped on in Indiana was worth it though. Ahh, the thrill of 3D back then...

  • Comment removed

  • u said it ...the thrill of 3d...

  • You know, he is english not portuguese. --.--'

  • Yes, I know... But I'm from Brazil! Sorry guy...

  • Lol k, but use google translate then.

  • No way Guy! Because I'm tired now ...! - _ -

I just only speak portuguese! Maybe tomorrow, right?

  • i have this for Project64

  • Where is that music from? From the game?

I only know the N64 versions, would be cool to have those tunes. :O

  • Yes. The music you hear in the game is in the actual game. The same exact music is in the N64 version but its scaled down to work with the N64's sound chip. Vince Pontarelli was the musician. He said he did the music by using MOTU on an Apple II.

  • I don't know whats better, the mention of the Nintendo "Ultra 64" or the sign that says "Gotta have my pops." Does anyone remember what that was for? Was it a cereal?

  • corn pops

  • HOW DO YOU RECORD AN ARCADE MACHINE?

  • Probably an emulator.

  • You don't. You use an emulator.

  • but it says insert coin

  • BY BEING AWESOME

  • man I used to love this game to death! i always wanted to drive into the side streets to see whats there! ^^ does somebody know whats the real life counterpart of the DEVASTATOR V1 ? I'm dying to find out! :) thanks for uploading this! brings back so much great memories! 5 stars

  • Mitsubishi Eclipse

  • ferrari?????????

  • @doubledollar "i always wanted to drive into the side streets to see whats there! " hahaha me too

  • @doubledollar Its been a long time since you posted this question and I think you still want to know the answer. The Devastator VI was called the Lamborghini Cala in real life. Lamborghini Cala, though, was never made for sale for unknown reasons. Only the prototype was able to be seen.

  • What would you rate this game out of 5?? Please tell me soon. Thanks

  • Where can I see the credits of cruis n exotica they have funny faces

  • CHECKPOINT!

  • The coin's noise makes me remember old days.

  • graphics are way beter t and music on arcade .

  • cuz midway sucks ass and get other companys to port over. the arcade was made on n64 hardware, should of been damn near the same.

  • I remember watching someone playing this thing in our bowling-thingy. Brings back memories, especially the foot-pedal ("STEP TO CHOOSE") were the base for some stupid jokes. Yeah, whatever. Kinda crappy - yet funny! - game. And games are supposed to be funny ;D

  • great game love playing it at the arcade too!

  • Anyone knows that is possible to download the arcade version of the game? I hate the N64's version.

  • Arcade port was way better. Lol @ the clinton ending.

  • They should release all the Cruisin's in a collection for the Wii, this time ARCADE PERFECT. Music, too.

  • "Cruisinnnnnnnnggggg!!!! YeaaAAaAahhhh Yeaaaahhhh, Cruising USA yeaAAAAAaaAAaahhhhhhyeaaaaahhh"

    lol thats so epic.

  • I really HATED the crappy music on the N-64 port! AGH! It drove me insane! Nowhere near as good as the arcade. Well, at least the game itself was quite good.

  • I like "Redline Shuffle" the most from Cruis'n USA. The stages I hated most were Iowa and Chicago. Midway must have programed the game so that they make out Chicago as America's worst drivers. US 101 was the easiest to me while San Francisco was the toughest (Chicago was tough too). I guess I liked the Testarossa-like car the most. Then again, it's been so long since playing this game. I actually completed the whole US tour in the N64 version. Good times. Still fun to play even today.

  • i agree about the testarossa car

  • The burning wreck seen on the side of the road in Chicago pretty much sums up Chicago.

  • lmao classic!!!

  • Man goes to show how baad the sound quality was on the N64, and how it was censored (the trophy girl had a shirt on in the N64 version, the whole Bill Clinton hot tub scene wasn't there, etc).

  • Yes, exactly my thoughts. Now that I have seen this video, I feel completely ripped off by the poor n64 game, was it really necessary to have the trophy girl censored, because the chequered flag babe in bikini was still unedited. Talk about poor music, compared to the original, the n64 sounds like a crummy genesis..

  • This game was the reasen why I bought a nintendo 64

  • Ha Ha...mine, too! Well, it was for my son. Which is what I told everyone!

  • i stumbled upon one of these in some old place yesterday. i was surprised to see the Ultra 64 logo in an arcade game! A blast to the past.

  • ultra?

  • That was the beta name for the Nintendo 64.

  • wow i remeber this.

  • luv tis game

  • I like this game, but the ports sucked ass.

  • good times those.I was 14 when CUSA came out

  • wuz top of line graphics too

  • :D .

  • LEGENDARY!!

  • cruisin, yeaaaah.. crusin usa

  • he sais CRUIS'NNNNNNN theeeeeee usa

  • I used to love this game as a kid, my fav board was Chicago, wacker drive was hard and lake street lol

  • I want my freakin pops

  • The NU64.

Its just like SNES and NES

  • Ooohoo breast phisics!

  • How come you skiped all the races?

  • I love this game i like the original music better.

  • lol bill clinton is flirting in a hot tub!

  • Nintendo Ultra 64

    nuff said

    (also great game)

  • LOL Midway always had an obsession with the Clintons. First, Bill was a playable character in NBA Jam, then he appears in the hot tub with the girls in Cruis'n USA and Cruis'n World. Hillary's face appears on the dollar bills in the tunnel around 8:30, but not in the N64 version. And Bill says "Hang on, Hillareh!" in the Cruis'n World ending. Anything else?

  • Yeah he appears as an unlockable character in Ready 2 Rumble..

  • Good old Midway...

  • What are your PC specs?

  • I think you need some help.

  • why do you think I need help?

  • Oh, wait! I just watched your video and at the beginning theres a Corn Pops ad.

    "Gotta have my Pops!"

  • lol, I watch your video, and it was like 'Jam with the Presdient in the White House hot tub'.

Too bad that happened in Cruis'n World instead of Cruis'n USA. I didn't know why there were shacks and cows on top of the White House. BTW, I completed the 'Cruis'n the USA' mode in less in an hour. It was easy. I think everyone can do it!

  • It's impossible to lose, unless you run out of quarters :P

  • Oh, and it was on Project64.

And how did the N64 version screw up the songs? I just say the guitars got replaced with bagpipes.

Also, the best song I think was 'House Special', although it did annoy me with the 'ooh, ah, ooh'

  • It was because of the N64 unable to handle pure mp3 quality music till later when Crusin' World handled the music much better.

  • It's because all N64 music was MIDI-like.

  • Actually, it was because of the space on the cartridges. N64 was capable of CD Quality sound, it was just never used in soundtracks (rarely, anyways) because it took too much space. At least the sound effects and voice clips sound fine in the N64 version (and obviously, the graphics are pretty much as good as the Arcade version).

  • dude graphics were not even close to the arcade. For example, if you crash into a car on the N64 version, you are likely to just spin out or just do some lame crash, however....IN THE ARCADE, when you crash, there were so many possibilitys like you could knock out one of the seven computer players so they will land upside down. You for sure cant do that on the N64 version!!

  • What you are talking about is animation, a.k.a. movement. What I was talking about was graphics, meaning the textures/looks of the road, grass, bridges, etc. (basically, anything that doesn't move), which do in fact look pretty much as good as the Arcade version.

About the crash animations, I agree the spin is dumb but at least they kept the awesome flip crash animation in the N64 version.

  • yeah I see what you mean.....but the flip crash animation in the arcade is way more....intense,but what you said about animations, you are actually right there.

  • Huh? can't you make a car flip upside dow on the N64 version of CUSA? Or am I thinking of CWORLD?

  • Yeah I found it funny too that even though this game was apparently running on N64 hardware, we didn't get the exact same game at home like we should have or could have. It was a close port but it should have been exact.

  • The reason it wasn't exact was because it was on an 8 MB cartridge. If Nintendo/Williams waited just a bit longer (until about late 1997 or early 1998), they could've put it on a 16 or 32 MB N64 cartridge and the results would be better. The quality is still good considering it was released just a couple month's after the N64's launch.

  • Or if Nintendo had of gone with a disc medium instead of cartridge.

  • I beat the 'Cruis'n the USA' mode with the blue (most powerful) Devastator VI, and when I got first on Washington D.C. it gave me a scrambled/garbled/glitched car that went slower than hell!

  • No offense, but besides the HUD and the song quality, both versions (N64 and arcade) look the same to me.

  • midway fucking ruined redline shuffle in the arcade!!!

  • was this a rom? if yes, what button is the ''test'' button when the game needs to calibrate???

  • lolz Bill Cliton on a hot tub wit 2 chix

  • The music in the arcade game have more realism in their instruments then the N64.

    despite the lower qualit sounding.

One of the songs sounded sounded like an orchestra with orchestra hits. and I like the Redline Shuffle with real electric guitars sounding like the studio was rocking out.

duh duh duh duh dun dunnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn.

  • i love the n64 redline shuffle DADADADADAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA.

    fav cruisn songs:

    CRUISN EXOTICA: fierce rave

    cruisn world: cruisn shuffle

cruisn usa: redline shuffle (hell YES!)

  • Where did you get this rom?

  • i was to little to remember..Good game back in the days tho!

  • petty cool

  • Oh man... some things that crack me up looking back:

The cars flip around and spin ridiculously and they always end up straight afterwards.

At the end of the race you drive into a crowd of people and the car suddenly stops...

And San Francisco has hardly any traffic and no pedestrians or bicyclist... and the same buildings repeat constantly.

  • omg my favorite song at 3;18 to like 4:30

  • cruis n and oakland

  • GREAT GAME

  • hey paikudesu your GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!!!!!!!!!!

P.S. THE RIMMING WORD OF SNITCH

  • This is how I learned to drive.

  • LMFAO!

  • OOHH ES INCREIBLE

  • CAN YOU GUYS HELP ME OUT PLEASE?

I'm looking for a racing arcade game that involves driving a buggy (I think it's a buggy), and you got ammunition to shoot at your CPU buggy drivers to slow them down. You can choose which area you want to race, ranging from Novice to Hard difficulty.

I totally forgot the name of it... if anyone knows, please respond. TY

  • Roadblasters

  • no, not that shitty game. It's an off-road game. I think there's 4 drivers every race, and you have to take 1st or 2nd to qualify for the next race....

  • Road Riot 4WD

  • thats it! thanks pal!
