Wow! I came across this lovely video tribute to your father-in-law by accident, while searching for Mac Wiseman tunes. What a stroke of good luck. I loved Bill's playing and the pure joy that he exhibited while he was playing with the other guys. Thank you for sharing that. I would have liked to have met him and picked some with him. We are losing our WWII vets at an alarming rate these days. I guess they're just going "home" to be with their buddies. May he rest in peace forever. Tom
no he didnt play professionally, although i agree with you that he could have. he was an auto mechanic by trade...and he could tune an engine just as well as the fiddle :)
my wife told me that Bill (her dad) had once written a bunch of songs and had even recorded one record by himself that he also sang in. unfortunately they were destroyed the fire that also destroyed their home.
I keep coming back to these videos clips at least once a week. Great !
ps. I think we hit the "flag" by mistake when wanting to add to the play list. I hope that doesn't make any problems as was furthest from what was intended.
hi again, very glad you are enjoying these recordings. no problem on the flag...I dont know what it will do anyway :)
If you like I would be glad to send you the DVD of this memorial. just message me thru my youtube account and let me know where to send it. God bless.
It's pleasing for me to come across your site, me373. I too love Chubby Wise's fiddling style..and that first song in your wonderful memorial assembly of Bill is in fact Chubby playing, as I understand it. A beautiful tremelo sound there, which Chubby was renowned for. And your father-in-law is a hot fiddler, indeed..no slouch ! He has that 'Old-Time' fiddle sound, which is wonderful to the ear. Some beautiful family photos in this montage. Congratulations, you clearly come from 'good stock'.
Hi, the song is by Chubby Wise called "Precious Memories". Bill is not playing that particular song. Chubby I think was Bill's favorite fiddle player. Thanks for your question.
Thank you so much for posting this. Bill's music will live on forever through the licks and touch he imprints and inspires in other fiddle players, like me.
He sure has a very soulful sound. Would have loved to have sat in on the sessions you folks had. My Grandfather was a musician, and the little I knew of him still brings back happy memories.. Be sure to know that your video contributions are a great way to let many people out there know a little bit about your father in law. He clearly had a big heart and knew how to throw one hell of a party, as far as your videos show..
would love to see some more video selections if you have anymore.

What is the song that plays first and last? Is that Bill Graham playing it?
