As well as the first day i used it the camera kept locking up on a black screen Toshiba should be ashamed of themselves to release something like this! Im sending this piece of crap back But what makes me really mad is the fact that No ones going to refund me the 2 SDHC cards this camera ruined Im also out 10 bucks shipping!

  • This camera is a piece of crap So far it has destroyed 2 SDHC cards class 10 8GBs, First tried my first card brand new went to format card said I had 1 hour and 40 minutes of record time when i hit record Said Memory full after trying it several times couldn't get it to work tried to put it back in my computer so i could just use it in my Ps3 or something boom Not even windows could reformat it, I thought I had a bad card so I tried another new one same problem Said the memory full DONT BUY!

  • @Toshibamultimedia when I comnect it to a pc 2 files are created from 1 video alone one, plays slower than normal and the other play regular but with way less quality than how it show on the cam. . Help Please. . .

  • @AllHipHopHead

You need a high performance PC to play those videos in Full HD. Can you please try recording video in HD and playback afterwards on your PC? In this way we can understand if it is a problem of the resolution of the videos. Thank you very much

  • Why when I shoot a video then watch it on a pc it plays in slow motion? And I haven't put the slow motion effect on.

  • @AllHipHopHead sometimes you record in 720p 60fps but when you play it the player might have slowed it down to the default 29 fps making the video appear to be slow motion hope that helped

  • @toshibamultimedia flash settings?

  • Hi @Jedifilmer101

IMPORTANT: Set bitrate to 10000 6. Set frame rate 7. Now you save the movie with the custom setting 8. Drag and drop into wished editor... 9. ??? 10. Profit
  • Is there a way to record audio into the camera via audio cable or external mic?

  • is the lense the same as the old ones

  • Anyone who wants to know how to get these files editable OR to specifically work with them in in Premiere message me.

  • @RatePending2

Hi, if you want you can share your suggestions with all the users here on YouTube or on our Facebook page (facebook.com/toshibamultimedia). Thank you very much

  • @RatePending2 I'm having the same issue. I like the camera itself, but If I can't get footage into Premiere, it's pretty much a useless hunk of plastic.

  • Hello, I have this camera since yesterday. Its really great but one problem;

When i copie some footage to my computer and if i want to drag it into sony vegas it cant come on the timeline =S

  • @Qubasta

look at this video "Toshiba Camileo x100 Test" (by smr597bmx) and read the description you can find interesting suggestions about editing videos from CAMILEO X100 with Sony Vegas

  • I have to return this camera. The codecs are rubbish. Nothing but crappy editing software can handle it. Even Vegas 9.0 can't properly handle it. It doesn't convert well either. Sound or video is missing from converted files. Do us all a favor and don't use AVC in an AVI. I just wish i knew it would be this impossible to edit the files. You know not everyone just uploads raw video to youtube. DON"T BUY THIS CAMERA! YOU CAN"T DO ANYTHING WITH THE FILES!

  • @RatePending still havnt figured it out? I was thinking about buying one so I can edit some juggling videos but if I cant edit then whats the point.

  • @TriWaZe I did actually. Message me and ill tell you how to edit in premiere and Vegas

  • @RatePending i can edit the files in premiere and after effects. no problems. you brobably have to donwnload a h264 codec bundle.

  • Sup Question can u use the remote to rec and take pics ?

  • impossible to edit the video... worthless!

  • Hi @omgeeuz

could you give us more details? so that maybe we could help you in solving the problem of editing!

  • @ToshibaMultimedia The problem is the codec.

  • Hi @omgeeuz

look at this video "Toshiba Camileo x100 Test" (by smr597bmx) and read the description you can find interesting suggestions about editing videos from CAMILEO X100.

  • @omgeeuz IF you want message me I know how to edit it inside Adobe Premiere and probably Sony Vegas

  • I have the same camera and I am very satisfied with it.

  • What's the differences between X100 and H30?

  • Hi @K3rtTamm

you can compare the two products looking at products pages on our website (toshiba-multimedia[dot]com). Basically the Camileo X100 has a 10x optical zoom, 10 MP CMOS sensor while the Camileo H30 has a 5x optical zoom. Also the dimensions of the two camcorders are different; it depends on your needs!

  • Can you please tell me how to turn on the flash?

  • Hi @mAcHeAd97,

In the settings menu you should find the settings for the flash: Auto, red-eye reduction, digital light, Off

If you put it in Auto mode it starts when it is necessary

  • @ToshibaMultimedia

Umm , how long does the battery last and for how long can you record with the inbuilt memory?

  • Hi @zauii89

the battery lasts for approx 2hours (video recording time) and if you have an SD card of 1GB these are the different capacities according to which mode you chose for recording:

    FHD (1080p / 30fps) = 12 min.

    FHD (1080i / 60) = 12 min.

    HD (720p / 60) = 15 min.

    HD (720p / 30) = 30 min.

    VGA = 60 min.

For further information please visit our website!:)

  • will there be a version with mic input ?

  • Hey Toshiba,

I recently purchased the x100 and am really disappointed in the photo quality. Daytime pics are ok but any photos taken where the flash is necessary just overexpose completely. Ive tried all settings repeatedly. Any ideas?

  • Hi @squire178

For optimal photo quality in dark environments, try adjusting Scene Select to Night Mode and turning on the Digital Light. Try this and let us know!

  • Hi

Can you post for download somewhere a native video file captured by this camera? I want to test if the format can be converted to a Mac friendly editable format for Final Cut.

    Thank you!

  • I would buy it if I can edit the video on a Mac.

Dude you are missing out on a huge customer base using the AVI container format.

  • Hi @jasonscottpage thanks for your suggestion. We will think about it!

    Continue to follow us!

  • based on price and features, best HD camcorder on the market!! now the list price as of July 17th 2010, only $349 list price, from Toshiba, only $100 dollars less! great price, far better than the H30

  • Same problem as Jonnyfyy. Can't even edit the videos (only 1080i60) in Premiere pro

  • Hi Jonnyfyy! Please do not use the low resolution thm-file for any video editing software - it makes no sense. Use the normal high res. file 1080i60. This file you can also upload on YouTube, but it takes a while. Have a nice day!

  • Hi Jonnyfyy!

Sorry that you have problems with your Camera! Could you discribe the problem you have more detailed, please?

Does the format (1080p) can not be uploaded?

    Thanks!

  • @ToshibaMultimedia I believe other than the 1080i60 setting, the rest have no problems importing to video editors (in my case it's Pinnacle Studio 14 Ultimate Collection) for edit. In the 1080i60 setting the video editor is not able to accept it, & uploading that same original .avi clip to youtube would show up artifacts.

Check out my youtube video clips "Camileo X100 problem" and you'll understand what I mean ;)

  • BTW smr597bmx, EinkOLED & myself encountered the same video problem when we've captured it in 1080i60 ('highest setting') & try to edit in our video editor or upload directly to YouTube.

Do get the technicians to resolve the problem soon, cos it would be a shame if this problem still persist in the upcoming newer models of the Toshiba HD camcorder! =X

  • Excellent camera you got there ToshibaMultimedia!

I've hands on this camera during the PC SHOW & it amazes me with the indoor low light video quality. I still believe there's room for improvement, since there are plenty of functions that are not available as compared to the big boys like Canon & Sony (eg. Focus & Exposure lock)

smr597bmx has proven that with creativity you still can achieve great cinematic shots! Keep it up Toshiba =D

PS: Please keep the big sensor & lens!

  • @jonnyfyy The Zoom capabilities is not that impressive, i know, but Sony, (don't know about Canon) goes overboard on the zoom the zooming is 60/2000 Optical/Digital, why even have Digital Zoom that high, use it to zoom in too much will actually lower the quality. my tip, choose the camcorder that fit's your needs, based on Zoom I don't really know if you'll need the 60X zoom on Sony Camcorders though, but I am buying the camcorder shown in the video, great camcorder.

  • @Zeldagigafan90210

I agree with you in terms of price-performance ratio for Toshiba Camileo X100. I'm not boasting about any particular brand, zoom or megapixels. At the end get what suits your needs and budget.

I'm waiting for the Toshiba Camileo SX900 to hit the stores of Singapore. Though it's video quality may be a little less compared to X100, there's manual focus control/ lock function and a nicer Canon-like user interface.

Time to ditch my old JVC DV camcorder soon...

  • In low light the sensor struggles to pick up any and is somparable to that of a phone.

  • The zoom is excellent and at 1080i/60 it captures every detail more than what the 3 inch monitor is capable of displaying, which is why it is better viewed on a 1080 display without PAL.

  • I have Hitachi's rebranded version of this, exactly the same camera except the rebrand and reduction in price.

    A remote control is missing.

For the price excellent value for money however the CMOS sensor has trouble producing the right colours and adjusting to bright light, another familiar problem is the ticking sound.

  • Hi Shmelkedge!

We have all songs out of a music library, so we don´t know.

    I am sorry!

    Have a nice day!

  • whats the song?

  • Toshiba is very good

  • Excellent! :D

  • This camera is AMAZING, Unbelievable, so easy to use, touch screen is amazing. Brilliant Camcorder.
