  • Being offended is something you choose to be. It's a non-intellectual option. It's a state of being to opt into once you've run out of arguments.

  • Very Nice Eddy!

  • 11 stars.

  • "Offensive? Huh, I suggest you come down off that cross, tear it up, use the wood to build a bridge, and get the fuck over it!" BAHAHAHAHAHA You sir just gave me my new all time favorite quote, and earned another sub!

  • 2:19

Lol whut? That's just like a true Redneck right there.

  • In Australia! not in my country!!! I'm stopping this

  • good.

  • The Church is falling short but God is faithful and is working on that- Freedom is the right to have our beliefs in Government as long as it is not forced- we all have reaped the benefits of a constitution and a declaration of independence by God Fearing men whether you are a beleiver or not - don't you get that.. - God loves you as he loves me- be not deceived

  • @justme74756 "God loves you as he loves me- be not deceived"

    pics or it didn't happen

  • @justme74756 Actually, do your research. The founders of this country were NOT God-fearing men. In fact, they specifically wrote the "separation of church and state" so that religion would never have a part in politics. They remembered the religious prosecution that their ancestors escaped when they came from England and wanted to make sure that it would NEVER happen here.

  • The Church is falling short but God is faithful and is working on that- Freedom is the right to have our beliefs in Government as long as it is not forced- we all have reaped the benefits of a constitution and a declaration of independence by God Fearing men whether you are a beleiver or not - don't you get that.. Safe sex is about free sex - if we just did as God wants we would marry wisely and not have sex outside marriage, fathers for children- God loves you as he loves me- be not deceived

  • @justme74756 if you are just going to copy paste, then I will block you as a spammer.

  • "...Deserves to be mocked..." Who exactly has the inferior morals?

  • @Randomemailer54 the one's who say that they need to have an imaginary friend tell them what to do in order to good things....

    that's who

  • im offended by the constant threats made by theists who feel it is their duty. just fuck off and go pray if thats your thing just stop trying to take me with you.

  • You, sir, are awesome.

  • That was the best ending I've ever seen for a youtube vid.

  • " I suggest you get off that cross, use it to build a bridge and get the fuck over it"! That was just absolutely fucking amazing!

  • That list at 2:22 makes me mega-facepalm. Not only the ignorant finger pointing, but the apostrophe SPAM'S

  • Good vid Eddy.

You may not believe this but that ad in Oz that you mentioned would have to be a new disturbing element here. I have NEVER seen anything like that homophobia happen for at least the last couple of decades. Heck, I used to catch buses in the 90's with ads that straight guys who went on the "down-low" occasionally should use condoms!

Next, they'll be shutting down the Sydney Gay/Les Marti-gras parade which every man, woman, child & family dog goes to. Usually a million attending.

  • Damn I didn't us Aussie's were that bad...... Must do something.....

  • Brilliant.

  • Bill Maher isn't an atheist. He's a Deist.

  • @Godlessons nope. actually, he is a self proclaimed apatheist, which means that he has a complete disregard toward a belief of lack of belief in a deity. different.

  • @eddygoombah I never heard him say that. I have heard him say he is a Deist though. Maybe he has changed his point of view.

  • @Godlessons No, he's an atheist

  • @DarkDeath100 I specifically remember him being interviewed and the interviewer called him an atheist, and he said he has never said he was an atheist, and the description of what he believed was basically deism, although he didn't say it. He believed there was a creative power that made the universe, but he doesn't give a shit what we do.

He may have changed it since then, but I remember because it surprised me.

  • @Godlessons Maybe he has, but, as of now, in his series Real Time w/ Bill Maher and movie Religulous he proclaims his atheism constantly. Interesting that he was a Deisst prior to his atheism.

  • @DarkDeath100 No, he never says he's an atheist in religulous. I thought he had, so after I saw that, I watched it again, and he hadn't. He just makes fun of religions, and uses the same arguments atheists use against them.

  • ". . . use the wood to build a bridge, and get the F over it!" Good one, Eddy!

  • Dude, you rock!!!

  • That sign @2:22 probably includes nearly everyone in the world. I guess I <3 satan.

  • Oh My, Fuck YES!! Eddie, you finally got mad. Good, we need more logic minded intelligent atheists willing to stand up for our rights. People don't understand why I am scared of Theists, but it seems you have a firm grip on why. Religion leads to nothing but death and violence, it is more immoral than the things its believers protest. I'm glad to see this side of you and I can only hope to see more. The silly Book of Goombah should only be a small thing, more anger from you Eddie. I love it.

  • Way to go, lot of respect. More people need to stand up against idiocy, oppressive stupidity, and cult mentality like you do.

  • Three cheers for the unadulterated pwnage.

  • portishead - YAY!!!

  • I am with you on this one, Eddie. If you're a subscriber to idiocy, and you don't distance yourself from that idiocy in the face of repeated attempts at EDUCATION, then you're a fucking IDIOT.

    It's very simple.

  • I love this guy. It's good to see someone tell it how it is and stand his ground. Religion needs to die already and stop fkng up everyone's lives

  • the sign at 2:23 pretty much includes the entire world population. fucking bigots.

  • @illumined1 - I'm assuming the last three on that list were strictly for lulz purposes..lol

  • @9886635574 Yeah, but did you notice 'government recipients' at the top? What does it mean to be a recipient of the government and how is that evil? lmao. they just slap whatever bias they want on an al a carte poster of hatred.

  • Perfection.

  • You tell 'em eddie! Way to go! This needs to be said much louder so believers may wake up.

  • The safe sex billboards in Australia are going back up.

  • good ending.

  • Take it up another notch!

I'm tired of the 'magic fruit tree and talking snake' crowd.

  • You know what? If you're offended because someone told you that your very ability to willfully ignore what IS true in favor what what you WANT to be true because of what you're AFRAID will happen if you DON't believe that thing you can plainly see ISN'T true is true makes you an idiot, then you are either an idiot or insane. There is no other option. Willing acceptance of something you ADMIT makes no sense on the grounds that you must have faith IS insanity.

  • The last person who spoke my own mind better than I could, as perfectly as this, was Christopher Hitchens. Subscribed.

  • It's amazing how many responses you got from people with their panties in a bunch about a video you did on how people don't have the right to not be offended. I don't think they get it. Stupid monkeys.

  • @crypticjim Yes, you just sparked my scientific brain!!! I get it now, the reason that creationists are so stupid is because they dont believe that we evolved from monkies there for their brains havent changed from the logical abilities of a monkey!!! IT MAKES SO MUCH SENCE!!! lol

  • "i am offended"

    "so what? get over it"

  • If they are claiming your vid was too offensive then they didn't listen to the part where you told them it was going to be. Selective hearing or memory is the same as willfull ignorance. Thus they are idiots as well. Just saying.

  • Eddie.. Keep it up.. some day all this religion bullshit is going to fall down.. they just have to wake up an face realty.. and join the art of seeking the truth.. science.. it f***** works..

  • While I would say that your last video went at least a smidge too far, I'll confess to feeling that way on occasion.

Nonetheless, until you start telling everyone who doesn't believe as you do that it is the decree of a maximally just being that they suffer forever for their disbelief, you are far from the most offensive person in the room. That people can believe that and still be widely considered "moderate" confuses me, but then I was raised in a society where few believe that.

  • I guess it's time to move on from subtle to Eddy! No worries, no apologies; keep it up.

  • The only thing that offends me is people who get offended

  • "I'm tired of seeing it"

Then why do you keep watching it?

  • In my experience the "christian" people who tell the athiest / agnostic / scientific communities to shut up, are the very same people who bang on about freedom of speech themselves.

And of course they want safe sex notices taken down - the more people die of AIDS the more the christians will say it is because of their "sinful" lifestyles.

That and the christian view of the sex, and even just the human body, as being "dirty" and must never be spoken about.

  • That video kicked some serious ass! And obviously I'm not alone in thinking so, 434 likes to 1 dislike (shockofgod?), I don't recall ever seeing a ratio that high. Nice work.

  • @atimnie Umm. The video was a personal attack. I even said so in the beginning of it. What's to justify?

  • @atimnie then you are not a real atheist bud. NICE VID ADDIE!! I am subscribing

  • @atimnie Wait wait wait, hold the fucking phone!!! did you listen to this video? If so then you should know that he has a right to say this and he doesnt give a flying fuck what you say. this is what he thinks, this is what he stands for and you nor any one else, atheist or other wise will be able to censor him. Personaly i believe in everything that he said in that vid and this one, BECAUSE THEY ARE TRUE!!! Now you may argue your point i have no problem with that, but dnt ask him 2 take it off

  • @sturfriedatheist Where in my comment did I say he should remove the video? Yes, he has the right to say what he wants, and I have the right to point out when it's offensive, which it was. But nowhere did I say he should remove it. If you have a problem with the people suggesting that he should, take it up with them, not me. You're having the wrong argument here.

  • @atimnie I'm a Christian, but I am more offended by the religious right trying to strip away my human rights than I will ever be by someone who uses the most foul language and inflammatory rhetoric in trying to defend those human rights for all. We should all be yelling louder, longer, and more often until some sort of sanity is restored to the human race.

  • Yes, FINALLY! Eddy the wimp has grown to become Eddy the universal badass mo'fo!

  • My only problem with your last video was that you made the blanket statement that all religious people are idiots. Willful ignorance on one subject is not the same as stupidity.

  • @civisromae their idiots in the respect that they believe in fairy tales. I am sure they are very competent in whatever other endeavors fill their life, reality however, is not one of them. I make no apologies for having this view, and find it not in the same vain as willful ignorance.

  • @eddygoombah

Maybe you shouldn't call others idiots and ignorant in the same paragraph in which you show a failure to apprehend the difference between 'their' and 'they're' or 'vain' and 'vein'.

    Just sayin'.

  • @fylosofer I am sorry I did not appease the holy grammar nazi. Maybe next time when I'm not texting my comments through my phone while working I will have more time to not being an "idiot" as you suggest. I love how you just correlated my iPhone's auto correct to me calling out people who have imaginary friends. Picking your battles FAIL

  • @eddygoombah Ahhh, two of the largest internet arguments are about to combine on one video... I personally prefer Android. ooooo. and god exists! we have nothing in common.

  • @eddygoombah Have you ever heard about the Philosophe Voltaire? His ideas are amazing quite like yours and mine, or at least I think so.

  • @eddygoombah It also seems that you're making a blanket statement by saying that everybody who has a religion period are idiots. Even those who are atheist but religious, even those who don't try to influence other people's life via government, education, the public, etc. (like myself).

By the way, RELIGIOUS =/= CHRISTIANITY. You say "religious" and then mention the attributes of a Christian God, assuming everybody who is religious is Christian.

  • @AdonTimasu This video is a direct response to the CHRISTIAN who emailed me. You maybe missed that.

  • @eddygoombah Fair enough. Must of been confused when I heard "religious" being used over and over and over again to describe every Christian on Earth.

  • @AdonTimasu are christians not religious?

  • @eddygoombah They are, but there's a difference between calling Christians religious and calling the religious Christians.

  • @civisromae Anyone that believes in something irrational is being irrational. And instead of saying 'irrational' we generally say 'stupid', 'dumb', etc. I just happen to be okay with this one irrational part of my life (at least for now), but I'm not making excuses for it. It's irrational.

  • We all have the right to offend and be offended in return...no apologies!

  • brilliant video.:) cheers

  • Perfectly said/done Eddy ★★★★★

    Katalyzt

  • Well fucking said Eddie, Champ!

  • I want that pic at 4:00

  • the line about the cross and the bridge at the end was priceless do you mind if i use that on occasion?

  • Mr Goombah, thanks for this vid. The first of yours that I've seen. Superb. 'Like button'? How about an 'I fucking love it' button? Favourited and subbed.

    Thanks again.

  • Eddy Im glad you are finally taking off the gloves most people are too scared to be offensive I think its good for you to take a stronger position against such hypocrites

  • This video is mind-blowingly awesome. Liked, favourited, subbed.

  • The problem I have with your video is that you afforded no respect to any person who holds religious beliefs, which is narrow minded seeing as there are a lot of moderates who are completely fine with homosexuals and the theory of evolution and some who actually set up organisations calling for the separation of church and state.

  • It isn't generalization, regardless of how "open-minded" of a Christian you think you are. Inherent in holding that position is belief in a supernatural being with NO EVIDENCE to support its existence. If you don't believe in the Judeo-Christian "God," then you're not a Christian.

  • Beautiful harmony and balance between a natural smooth tone and legitimate frustrations. Love it, Thanks!

  • I'm a Christian, but unlike most of the idiotic ones who take shit to extremes i believe in gay rights, evolution, and the fact that you shouldnt be getting up in peoples faces over what they do. Not all Christians take things to extremes, i dont believe in God because people told me to, but simply because I think he's real. The problem with ur last 2 videos tho, is that your doing what you have condoned for awhile, overly generalizing people. Chill a little, life isnt all about arguments.

  • @deathtofalloutboy I'm done "chilling".

  • @eddygoombah I'm done chilling too. It's more than about time we stood up for the rights of people who are not credulous numbskulls who choose to follow and chase phantasms and delusions over the real world. For too long, people have claimed privileges as though they are rights in the name of their religion, and it's time to level the playing field. If people want to get offended that you and I speak out for our rights... Well... They can grow some thicker skin... Or fuck off.

  • @deathtofalloutboy Hes only generalizing Christians because Christians (not all) generalize EVERY THING ELSE!!!

  • @deathtofalloutboy

Then you should call yourself a deist. A christian that believes nothing from the bible, or that does not consider it ''divinely inspired'' Or that does not believe that jesus died for their sins Should not call themself christians, Your so called ''Christians take things to extremes'' are just christian that believe christianity ... If you dont, stop saying your a christian, it'll get you much more respect.

God does not need to be Yaweh ..

    Cheers

  • @deathtofalloutboy Surelty one can't be Christian and be in favour of Gay rights. At least not a proper Christian, one who follows the Bible, the infallible word of God. The infallible word of God says that anybody who works on the Sabbath should be put to death, if one doesn't do this, they can't really be a follower of God and his infallible rule. Am I wrong or am I missing something?

  • @deathtofalloutboy "i dont believe in God because people told me to, but simply because I think he's real"

You think he is real, on what basis if I may ask?

  • @deathtofalloutboy Oh! I see! You’re a Christian, but not one of the idiotic ones. LOL. You may have the right to believe in fake shit, cool, no problem, believe what you want, but I’m still going to think you’re an IDIOT for doing so. I can’t just think that SOME Christians are nut balls, sorry, doesn’t work like that. If you believe in fake shit, I got to think you’re a little nutty. Once someone says “I’m a Christian.” they automatically loose creditability in my eyes. The way it should be.

  • Don’t tone it down, keep it up.

1:10,, LOL,, if he’s tired of seeing your vid, don’t click on it.

Also , real 100% bible Christian are nasty people, because their bible is full of nasty things . Don’t give me that crap about “ Real Christians would never say things like that.” Real Christians are the most evil nast people.

  • I love how "true" christians call atheists arrogant. Yeah, we're the arrogant ones for pointing out your bullshit while people just like you and with the same belief system are preventing abortion, stem cell research, same sex marriage, etc. To any and all christians, fundamental or otherwise, I have a cactus here for you to shove up your fucking ass.

Fucking great video btw. Loved it.

  • @Rary113 you, good sir, win. I laugh my tits off every time a Christian tries to pull that "we're not all crazy" shit on me.

  • @batmanpronz Lol, thanks.

    Same here.

  • "The men who had hated [the book], and had not particularly loved Helvétius, flocked round him now. Voltaire forgave him all injuries, intentional or unintentional. 'What a fuss about an omelette!' he had exclaimed when he heard of the burning. How abominably unjust to persecute a man for such an airy trifle as that! 'I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it,' was his attitude now."

    - S. G. Tallentyre, referring to Voltaire

  • Perfect

  • AWESOME video! Eddie, you're a hero!

  • I like the bridge line.

  • awesome video!

  • "...use the wood to build a bridge and get the fuck over it!" This is one of the greatest closing lines I've ever heard! Absolutely fucking magnificent video!

  • Holy fuck that was awesome. Powerful and a great follow up.

  • you win The Game

  • doesn't believe in inoculations? maybe he's got a good reason. I agree with your video, except for that point. Do you know what's in them? Didn't think so. Best not let any fucking moron shoot shit into your body. Think.;

  • @rovingdesertfox Vaccinations are fine and help save countless lives around the whole world.

  • @MagnusIan Is that a provable statement? How can you be so sure?

  • @rovingdesertfox If you can provide evidence that vaccines do more harm than good, then civil discourse is merited. Until then, rational people stand by the pretty good track record of vaccines doing what they're meant to do.

  • @TomConger Let's just try for honesty here: how do we find out for sure what's in them?

  • @rovingdesertfox ... perform tests to decipher the chemical composition? Or trust the producers and FDA.

  • @TomConger Your answer is logical, but lacks knowledge of what is happening behind the scenes in our current situation. Go get a vaccine.

  • @rovingdesertfox Care to enlighten me? Sure does sound like the beginning of a conspiracy to me.

  • @TomConger Do your own work.

  • @rovingdesertfox So you're going to make a claim, then fail to justify it. Good job there, buddy.

  • @TomConger In the mood you're in, it wouldn't matter what I said after this, you'd just want to fight about it.

So, do your own research and go argue with someone else.

  • @rovingdesertfox haha... presuming to know what mood I'm in. Look, this is how discourse works - you make a claim, and you support it. If you're going to throw out claims without evidence, then one can easily dismiss them without evidence. The research I have done on vaccinations has lead me to believe that they are safe and effective... if you're claiming otherwise, it is up to you to provide evidence. If you're unprepared to do so, then keep your conspiracies to yourself.

  • @TomConger i think i will.......

  • @TomConger I have an invisible magic dragon in my garage. I'm not going to provide any evidence to support my claim, you just need to "do your own work" so you can believe me.

  • @rovingdesertfox "it wouldn't matter what I said after this"

Sane rational people will want to know if there's anything wrong with vaccines. They will also react in a sane and rational manner to claims of problems with vaccines. So what's you problem?

  • @dumpmist Then sane and rational people should explore the matter. I'm not doing a public service on vaccines. I just made a comment. If you know more, research, just like you would for anything else. My advice: don't get a vaccine.

  • Hear, hear my friend!

  • A-Fuckin'-men!

  • They're such hypocrites! "Repent, repent and believe!" "Why can't we just believe whatever we want to believe? And besides, your religion makes no sense to me!" "How offensive, you shut up and repent! Don't you dare speak!" Apparently, freedom o speech means, "I get to speak about God, and tell you how much of a sinner you are, but youdon't dare get to say a word against mine."

  • nicely done.. Portishead was a nice touch.. i like the word nice... it's a nice word.. anyway.. yeah.. it's like they've tried so hard to build this imaginary podium for themselves so that they can be above anybody they don't like.. and when you explain that there is no podium and everyone is equal.. such an insult..

  • One minor nit to pick; that quote isn't from Voltaire. It's from Evelyn Beatrice Hall writing Voltaire's biography. Her words, not his.

  • @integralmath Well, I like the meaning behind the quote whomever said it.

  • @eddygoombah: as do I. I just think accuracy counts for something, which is why I said it's a minor nitpick considering almost everyone wrongly thinks Voltaire himself said it. =P

  • That last line was genius <3

  • Consider Again That Pale Blue Dot watch?v=gEwR0QCqH_0

  • Wait. Theists want to remove rights from other people? Really? And here, I was being told that theists uniquely understand that human rights, including life, LIBERTY, and the pursuit of happiness, came from a deity and that they --the theist-- had no authority in denying those rights to others. Now you have me all confused, Goom. Thanks. Way to start a Monday.

  • how rude

  • Damn right.

  • awesome video

  • I had a look at your open letter, and I agree you went too far, not because you offended but simply because you argued something that isn't true. I'm an atheist, too, and I tend to accept reality, or try to. It's a fact that religious people aren't necessarily stupid. The mathematician John Lennox, to pick one example, is smarter than you or me. Having to deal with intelligent people who accept absurdities is a problem that won't go away by insisting it doesn't exist.

  • @fiandrhi a smart man may believe lot of erroneous things. Like for example that the moon is made of cheese. He can still be a genius. But when it is constantly debated, and no evidence comes down on the cheese side. When you hold on to your belief for emotional reason in the face of evidence pointing to the contrary. Then you are slowly inching over to the idiot side. At least partly in that area. And there are real intelligent people with the integrity to never let that happen.

  • @CognosSquare It's a constant mystery to me, not that intelligent people believe dumb things, but that they go on believing them day after day, year after year. And yet I can't deny that intelligent people do. But I do think it's true that the more intelligent you are, the less likely it is that you believe in god.

  • It's religious moderates who give legitimacy and platform to fundamentalists.

Ridiculous people with ridiculous ideas deserve ridicule.

  • I have seen this "freedom from offense" seen in the form of "freedom of criticism", which many right-wingers often use to say, because of harsh public criticism they would have been "denied freedom of speech". Of course that means to ban the right to criticise (of course only from those who oppose your world view), therefore freedom of speech, but these people are keen to say, that they are on the right side of democracy. Yeah, the "right-wing" side. Offense is no censorship justification.

  • @MardasMan The left has no quarter on freedom of speech. Both sides wish to prohibit each others unpleasant speech.

  • @FaganRoberts

I personally mean the right, and i speak of personal experience, when i say, that these people want to be free from criticism in saying, that the left has taken over the media and would by criticising prohibit free speech and so on, whilst i haven't heard of similar things by the left. Only extreme-leftists may fit to this, but i must say, that the right uses this much more often than the left. Personal experience, especially in the sarrazin and xenophobia debate in germany.

  • If someone is trying to get you to BELIEVE something without evidence... look into the word itself cause in the middle of it is what you are being told LIE!

  • That was one of the most impressive rants I've listened to on youtube.

Very very pleasant to listen to. Not in a sexual way, but more of a.. mmm 'thank goodness there are people this outspoken about this subject'-way

  • That response you showed: bullshit alarm went off at 'true Christian' and if he's tired of it, don't watch it.

  • Spot on.... Tone it up.

  • So...

The fundamentalists make a religion look bad. Atheists point out the PR problem and its source. Then the religious moderates attack the atheist for pointing out the fundamentalist element rather than deal the fundamentalist problem.

Religious moderates - Just ignoring the fundamentalist element does not make them go away. Instead, the fundamentalists use this silence to justify their hatred. Also, the fundies hate the moderates for being too weak in faith. You are defending the problem.

  • Eddygoombah, I do not think that it is offensive at all. You keep up the good fight! The religious are the freaks not the atheists.

  • *AtheistBrofist*

  • I love how the Christian references True Christians™. What a silly and subjective term.

  • Is this or the previous vid offensive? I don't think so. But I should do further investigation. Subscribed! (And a thumbs up for each vid). Cheers.

  • I love this video, well done eddygoombah

  • A fantastic video. Liked. Favourited. Shared.

  • Thanks for another great video!

  • I didn't know Mahr was against inoculations... weird, since he's usually right.

  • Brilliant Video!

  • Man, I near cacked myself at the last comment "I suggest you come down off that cross, tear it up, use the wood to build a bridge & get the FUCK over it!" - HILARIOUS!

  • Some people haven't noticed that they don't have a right, not to be offended. But they sure do act as if that were the case.

  • @JohnQChristian

    "I'm offended by this video"

To paraphrase Stephen Fry; that's not an argument. It's a whine. So fucking what if you're offended!

  • I debate the idea any Christian actually seriously thinks they are going to heaven. I think if heaven existed then their hatred for other people would disqualify them in any case. Since I have come to You Tube I have read Christians abusing other religions, calling even other Christian sects devil worshipers. They have ranted against freedom of speech and democracy. They have demonized the mentally ill. They hate gays. Christians are loathsome.

  • Hey, the Greek gods are fine with homosexuality. The Norse gods are little iffy, sure Thor cross dressed that one time but that was only to trick a giant into marrying him so he could get the belt that the giant stole back.

  • about all i can say here is

    WOW!

  • "Dumped from Brisbane bus stops last week after a letter-writing campaign, only to be reinstated following a public backlash, a controversial advertising image of two gay men embracing will now be used in a new campaign to promote sexual tolerance.

The visual image from the Healthy Communities' Rip and Roll safe-sex advertising signs will be featured in an 'Embrace Acceptance' advertising campaign, aimed at addressing homophobia."

    Brisbane Times - 6 June 2011
