  • that thing is veryy nice how much do they cost?

  • @asterix645 ok putt it like this i bought this same exact gun from a crackhead when i was 12 when i was 15 i got into a scuffle the gun dropped someone picked it up and shot me 6 times i survived...i was in afgahnistan bout 8 months ago and got hit 4 times with AK rounds i survived...so it domt mattet what gun it is or how close it is its where u putt that bullet and sometimes even then u wont always get the kill understand?

  • I need this so bad

  • model 10 shoot fine.

  • Love the Smith and Wesson Model 10. K-Frame (medium). Fits perfect in the hand. Believe the blued frame is the Model 10 and the stainless steel frame is a Model 64. Unless this model was maybe done in nickel. Have know idea if S&W made a Model 10 in nickel. Thanks for posting!

  • what sort of ammo was that?

  • ohwhat? did u just unload those shells on your hand? arent they suppose to be hot?

  • that's a nice gun guy how much did you pay for it???

  • One of the best all around revolvers ever made.

  • That was some good shooting.

  • Let's See some Single Action shooting, single action means business.

  • Miss my model 10. Bought one with a 5" barrel. (not stainless steel, though) Back in the early 70s. Shot 1 box of shells. Sold it several years later because in those days. There weren't indoor gun ranges and the like. The friend that I knew in the country moved.

  • beautiful gun, I'm trying to decide between a 1911 and S&W Snub revolver...really hard choice

  • That's not a model 10.

  • I wish I could find a good blued model 10. hard to get from where i live...

  • Is that a pinned and recessed revolver?

  • i want one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

  • Clearly the recoil is very light with wadcutters. But have you fired this piece with +P ammo? Specifically, the so-called FBI round (+P, 158 grain)? Or the Nyclad round that's often recommended as a +P alternative? Don't mean to denigrate you. Am genuinely curious, particularly since I've considered acquiring a short-barrel Model 10 myself:) --

  • neat video, love the smith model 10 snubby

  • how many rounds does it hold? Looks like 6...some snubbies only carry 5

  • I am a recent convert to the Church of Smith & Wesson. A month ago, I had the opportunity to strip, clean and lube a model 67. The particular unit had been untouched for 30 years and had been underwater [for less than an hour] during a recent flood.

Not only was it fully functional before I stripped it,

after reassembly the trigger was much smoother than my "wunder neun"

  • on S&W the cylinder spin clockwise?? y? how?

  • @merctp45: Lots of criminals have seen a Model 10 spin clockwise if they were paying attention.

  • Put a Tyler grip adopter on that, and it's the perfect carry gun - nice!

  • the only thing we can say for sure about bullets is :

rule #1 there are no magic bullets

rule #2 all manufacturers and salesmen lie

rule #3 there is a fool born everyminute that has never heard of rule #1 or rule #2

  • wouldnt a model 10 have a blued finsh as opposed to a sainless finish?

  • @mercurygrandmarquis1 The gun in the vid is either a nickle plated model 10 or it is a model 64 - hard to tell at this resolution.

  • could this gun kill someone in one shot?

I don't know alot about firearms but one scene in the "Godfather movie" a character uses this same gun to shoot two guys in a bar. And one victim gets shot in the head at 5 foots range and is still alive.

  • @asterix645

    Well.. Think about a knife...

Would a knife stab kill you? Sure it COULD, but it would depend on stuff like how big a blade, where you cut, etc

    Same goes with guns

Nothing is magic like the movies.

  • @GunWebsites yes i understand what your saying but I did mention all the details. The gun was the same model 10, snubnose, it was from 5 feet away and the bullet was right in the middle of his forehead. There's the details,

And yes i know movie are fake, but if it a realistic fiction film, the would still have to be real while being fake, get what i mean?

  • @asterix645

Not to get into ballistics or anatomy, etc.. but I need to refer to my knife example.. there are just too many factors in people and bullets to say anything is true 100% of the time

  • @GunWebsites

oh, your basically saying a tough bodybuilder would be more resistant to a bullet than a frail child. Is that what you mean when you talk about the anatomy variable, anyway im sure you can make some assumptions :)

( and i dont mean shooting a child LOL)

  • @asterix645

Well thats not what I was thinking, I was just thinking some people have bigger livers than others, or kidneys or other guts.. and that our insides are gonna change person to person.. but you are right about physical characteristics too

Do all people in car accidents die? all people who fall down stairs? People who get electrocuted? These things can all be lethal, nothing is absolutely fatal all of the time.. bullets especially

  • @GunWebsites

yes, your right. But to end this ill rephrase and simplify.

If you were steel target you were shooting at (same range, same gun). if you were the steel target at 0:54 and you were shot by someone, lets say neck. would you die? i completely understand wat your saying about different characteristics, but im sure assumptions can be made. :)

  • @GunWebsites I agree, certain people's body's can tolerate alot more than others, if a child was shot I have no doubt that the child would die, but if a 300 pound guy got shot, he'd probably be hurt, but he'd most likely live. and certain people's organs tolerate more g's than others and can handle a gun shot while others will be killed. I guess that that's the only reason for people to use overkill, (which is only called that based on what an average person can handle)

  • @GunWebsites agreed

life isn't call of duty where you can shoot some guy's arm and he dies on the first shot

  • @asterix645

when it comes to firearms, it's all about shot placement, A headshot is basically 99% garanteed to kill. Most people make the mistake of assuming its about the bullet caliber or the the gun when in fact it is the shot placement. I know what scence you are talking about, the godfather is one of my favorite movies. The reason his head did not explode was because of the type of bullets he was using which wear full metal jackets. A jacked hollow point would have split his head open

  • @asterix645 It's a movie- it's ART. It is not meant to be realistic. It is meant to stir an emotion in you. The people who made that film are not an authority on any of this. What the are, is good storytellers. It's called suspension of disbelief.

  • @asterix645 A .38 to the head from 5 feet would more than likely kill you, but there are cases where it may not.

  • @SecretService80 What many people dont know: a lot depends on the ammonution!

  • @bolijack Very true as well, a soft nosed lead round will probably kill you, bet you have a better chance of surviving that than a hollow point.

  • @asterix645 I watched a special about a lady shot in the forehead with a .357 magnum at about 15-20 feet and she not only lived but never lost consciousness. In a situation like this alot of variables go in the outcome. One of the biggest of which I believe is whether or not it is time for you to die, I have heard two or three instances from Iraq where troops have been shot in the forehead and lived. Laugh if you want but if it isn't your time to go you won't go.

  • @nowthisis2stupid

well i think we should think twice about mixing in supernatural/spiritual stuff with hardcore science.

  • @asterix645 I don't, explain why a person shot in the head is not killed? Luck, chance and/or 'hardcore science' are all three considered religion or supernatural here in the United States to certain people, so why can't I claim my religion or supernatural cause is liable? And "thinking twice" about it comes as quite and offence to me, and I hardly think The Godfather is 'hardcore science', mmmkay....

  • @nowthisis2stupid

sorry if my last comment sounded offensive, I had no intention of that.

What I was basically saying is, a bullet to the head should be calculated by penetration, angle, etc. Not by god's will. And NO i am not a religion hater or atheist, LOL. I hope you understand what I mean.

  • @asterix645 I am not telling you to pray every time someone is shot in the head to see if it is God's will either. I am just saying there is more to being killed than just a bullet entering your head. And the lady and said soldiers were examples, by all accounts and opinions they should have died but they didn't. I am simply saying there is more to the equation than just the bullet. But yeah, I understood what you were saying.

  • @asterix645 All firearms [and some air rifles] have the potential to kill in one shot, and should be handled accordingly. How long it takes is another matter.

  • @asterix645 Wrong. The revolver used in the GODFATHER was a .22. The book written by Mario Puzzo details the gun as a "short barrelled .22 with soft lead bullets"

  • @asterix645 any caliber gun can kill someone in one shot with good shot placement you asshole and btw the godfather sucks balls

  • @TheChamberofFarts "godfather sucks balls" so I guess you have something in common with the movie,

I didn't like the godfather and I don't see what I did to make you say "asshole".

    You're pathetic

    Good Day, sir

  • Dont look to movies they are not reality, with guns it depends where you hit them,. I heard a true story of a .22 hitting a man in the spine and stopping him, the man was 300 hundred pounds. But at the same time i also heard a true story of a man taking 4 shots of .45 acp to his back from a cop and went on to run a full block. that man was not much heavier than 170 pounds and he was not on pcp or anything. With guns the caliber does matter but shot placement is key.

  • @asterix645 Wrong--the revolver Michael (Al Pacino) used in that scene was a .22. The first guy he shoots(the Turkish drug dealer) is dead instantly. Then, he shoots the police chief in the neck and then the head. Both characters are dead. I read the book and have seen the film too many times to count. This is all fiction of course.

To answer your question about the MODEL 10 .38 Special.....YES,it can kill in one shot.

  • Very nice snubnose. Is it a factory nickel job?

  • @ wendykdm

    yup

  • that looks like something an old school detective would wrap around his ancle with

  • Lookin good after 20 yrs. Thats S&W quality!

  • Badass and easy to shoot!

  • Well then come down to Florida and live here. You can have anything you want here when it comes to guns. 15 and 30 rd mags are legal here . Heck full automatic weapons are legal here. It's not uncommon at all to see someone shooting an M60 machine gun at the range I go to. Yesterday was cannon day at the range so some people were firing thier cannons.

  • I do not know what the laws are in your state but if I am correct you have to be 18 to buy a long gun such as a shot gun and 21 to buy a handgun. Don't worry the time will pass soon enough. Also some more advice here, don't buy those air weight revolvers with aluminum frames. They don't hold up well under heavy use. Buy your revolver in steel even if you have to special order it.

  • Fathers can buy for their kids

  • If you want a 5 shot S&W revolver then you are looking for the S&W model 36. It is a 5 shot J frame that is small and you can get it in blue steel and stainless steel. The gun is not cheap expect to pay around $500 for it ,but it is top quality. It will last forever and hold it's value better than something like a taurus. Plus don't let anyone talk you into buying a Taurus 85 and try to tell you it is just as good as a S&W. Believe the hype S&W is the best when it comes to revolvers.

  • S&W model 10 can't be beat. Very accurate and very reliable and it won't cost an arm and a leg.

  • Yeah, and the S&W Model 10 was the Glock of its era. There are SO MANY around you can always pick one up at a gun show for around $200 or so. I think a Model 10 is going to be on my list for this year's acquisitions. I've recently picked up a Model 19-2 and love it to death.

  • @deussolinvictus I think the next on my acuistion list will be a Browning Hi Power.

  • Don't blame you there. Classic model or modern production? I love the GP-35 myself, but I've never owned one. I've shot an Ingliss model ( Canadian ) which was a WW2 surplus.

  • @deussolinvictus I will go for the modern production Hi Power. I did buy a Hi Power clone from Charles Daly a few years back and it is just not standing up to the use I put it under so when I get the money I will get the real thing. It will be a while though the Hi Power can be expensive and I have to pay the bills first.

  • I hear you. I've had to divest myself of a couple recently due to some big medical bills, but I'm hoping to recover this year. Daly just folded anyway last week.

  • @deussolinvictus No kidding Daly Bought the farm? That is a shame. But is was not like I was planning to buy a lot of guns from them. Anyway get well soon.

  • Where do you live?! I wouldn't mind picking up one of these for $200.00

  • Model 10 is a 6 shot

  • ah godfather´s dinner scene

  • should have shown some before images/vid. would have been a good comparison, the clean weapon was very impressively clean, good to see it worked well.

  • yep, just saw dirty version vid. cool vid.

  • Thanks, we'll add a link to the 'gummed up' video in the video info on this one
