  • @cGarcia2100 Hah glad I could help :)

  • Hey... i have done all but it's still sayin error about PARENTS APPLICATION

  • @1suhaibali For some people it just generally doesn't work. Here's an alternative fix:

    1) Open Photoshop

    2) Find the photo you want to edit

    3) Click "File" and "Browse in Mini Bridge"

    4) Make sure there is a "Content" tab open in mini bridge (One of the buttons on the side of it open that tab)

    5) Right click your photo

    6) Click Open In Camera Raw

    This should work :)

  • @WombatVlogs still not working. and i've Browse In Bridge options! what to do?? please help?

  • @NeverListenBefore I suggest you contact Adobe - You can email their support team (Just go on the website and find the contact button)

  • used this tutorial to fix both my computers. the second time only because i had forgot the process. Thanks a lot!! There are so many people on Google that have no clue how to fix this. The word needs to be spread to everyone!! Definitely a lifesaver!! Thanks again!

  • Dear @MrWenconjames,

Thanks for your help. The copying of the file did not work for me, I opened through Photoshop as you suggested and it works, but now I cannot open from Bridge. Any other solutions that will solve the problem vs. just avoiding it?

    Thanks again.

  • @iweisser Hi, when you wrote to MrWenconJames, are you sure you didn't mean to me? (I told him about opening through photoshop).. Anyway, all I can think is that if you want this sort of editing and none of the fixes work, you could get Adobe Lightroom. It's pretty much all photo editing and it's exactly like camera raw editing.

  • thanks

  • @mitelefonosirve No problem :)

  • Legend Man Thanx Sooooooooo Much.........

  • @Robtjregan You're welcome (And you got the 99th comment :') )

  • @MrWenconjames You sure you copied the right file to the right place? lf it doesn't work, then put all the files back to where they were (Hopefully you backed it up like I said) and try the following alternative fix:

    1) Open Photoshop

    2) Find the photo you want to edit

    3) Click "File" and "Browse in Mini Bridge"

    4) Make sure there is a "Content" tab open in mini bridge (One of the buttons on the side of it open that tab)

    5) Right click your photo

    6) Click Open In Camera Raw

    This should work :)

  • hi,,when i do it,,my bridge wont open, and it said the application was unable to start correctly (0x000007b).

  • thanks alot, you are wonderfull.

  • @atrushiadil Your welcome, thank you for the kind words :)

  • thanks man!very helpful!

  • @mohammedabdulwasay Your welcome :)

  • wow thanks. I got it working :)

  • @EvanTheOctopus No problem :D

Have a Wicked Christmas and Great New Year!

  • @Danielkyoshiro Thank you kindly! I hope you also have a Merry Christmas :D

  • Hi @giuuuu1 @haifayaz111 @DodgyTactics --- All of you said that the fix did not work for you. I have an alternative to camera raw editing that should work ----

    1) Open Photoshop

    2) Find the photo you want to edit

    3) Click "File" and "Browse in Mini Bridge"

    4) Make sure there is a "Content" tab open in mini bridge (One of the buttons on the side of it open that tab)

    5) Right click your photo

    6) Click Open In Camera Raw

This should work for you - Please get back to me and tell me it works :))

  • @WombatVlogs Hey there, THIS WORKED! =D IT WORKEDDDDDDDDD!!!!!!!!!!! \o/ THANKS, THANKS A LOOOT, man! =DD

  • @giuuuu1 WOOP! It may not be an ideal solution - But at least you can use the Raw Editing function now :)

  • It didn't work for me... the same annoying error keeps popping up! Any help?? =/

  • THANK A LOT

IF YOU GET IN YOUR SYSTEM PHOTOSHOP CS5 AND CS3

WITH YOUR WAY - YOU CAN NOT OPEN BRIDGE BY PHOTOSHOP CS3

    BUT IS OK

    THANK YOU

  • @SHDAWNRONI Ok thanks :)

  • Great vid. do you know how to fixs this on mac?

  • @mikeelatham Make sure you back this file up because I'm not 100% on this - I think that if you go to the folder the Photoshop is installed (eg. program files) and navigate to the following place: /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Adobe PCD/cache/cache.db

Copy the file cache.db and go to the place where Bridge is installed, and also navigate to the same place - Then replace Bridge's cache.db with Photoshop's cache.db

If you can't find that particular directory then do a search for cache.db

  • @WombatVlogs Thanks, but i did the search for the cache.db files and there not to be found! and there is no path for /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Adobe PCD/cache/cache.db

  • @WombatVlogs Sorry. I find the /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Adobe PCD/cache/cache.db but i couldn't find the same place in bridge's to copy it in.

  • @mikeelatham Hmm, is there a "cache.db" file anywhere at all in Bridge?

  • @WombatVlogs not that i could find. do you know the path to it in bridge?

  • @mikeelatham Not a clue because I'm not on a mac - I'm only going by my knowledge of where the data is stored etc.

  • thanks a lot

  • @etacarinae32 Your welcome :D

  • thank you its working

  • @itsSurajTube Jolly good :)

  • itz not working for me....plz help :(

  • @haifayaz111 Have you made sure that you have previously used Photoshop and all the other Adobe programs that you have installed? Because that's what it means by "The parent application is not active" -- You must make sure first that you have launched all the programs and then exit them......

Also, this fix doesn't work on a 64 bit pc :/

  • @WombatVlogs Actually it does work. Just make sure you've opened both your x86 version as well as your x64 version of Photoshop.

  • @Arenael Ooooh ok :D

  • @ZomePro Oh dear :P I will try and find a solution for you mate :)

  • @ZomePro Hmmm, I'll have a look over the weekend and see if I can find a solution for you

  • @ZomePro I'm sorry this hasn't been successful for you -- I don't own a Win 7 PC however my brother has Bridge and I'll look on his computer as to whether I can find the solution for you :)

  • mine is 64bit, photoshop is installed in program files\adobe, while bridge is installed in program files (x86)\adobe. copying the amtlib file makes bridge launching failure...

  • @Poorest Are there any Photoshop files in program files (x86) ?? Or are there any other amtlib.dll files anywhere? Try doing a computer search.

  • @WombatVlogs Same here, win7 64 bit, program files (x86) Replacing amtlib.dll just causes a failure for bridge to launch

  • @Poorest - This is my situation too so video didn't help.

  • You are definitely onto a winner. Best of luck

  • @jnabney Thank you :)
