The other guy didn't pull the trigger in time, (maybe because of lag) But in halo sometimes when you died your weapon will shoot one or two rounds. And this is the case when it actually kills your opponent. X_X

Shot gun is considered an explosive so their wepons can be deflected by another explosive. So a couple shot got past and killed him the rest bounced back at you

it's a glitch in the programming of H3, their crosshairs were alligned perfectly and shot at the same time, the game twitches and thinks they both offed themselves, it's just a pre-patch glitch

just a guess here but maybe u 2 shot at the exact same time. when the shotgun shoots it sprays bullets not shoots 1, so there is a good chance that the bullets fired from your gun both went into him and ricocheted off of his bullets into you

Only way I could explain it is that his guest shot him, he survived but was betrayed and registerring it as a suicide. Happens a lot but usually they'd count as the opponent's kill... So I don't know...
