This is a sad day. I wanted her to win the republican nomination in 2012, unless she gets some national office in the next year she's got no chance. Maybe she'll run for US senate or house in 2010.

She could have but that would've been an obvious move to try and position herself for a run in 2012. Would it have killed her to finish her term and keep accruing executive experience as governor THEN run for the senate? I think she's clearly demonstrated that she is unwilling or unable to deal the pressures of public life. If she does run for the senate or for president, I wouldn't be surprised if her critics say that she'll just resign at the first sign of trouble or a drop in the polls.
