I think this format was too big for weekly TV. I think the producers should have paid Judy a shyt load of money and produced MONTHLY specials, that way she could rest and take of herself, and instead of taking the show for granted people would have looked forward to her monthly specials.
Wonderful sequence. And I love how Barbra comes onstage at the end of the first number, already belting in perfect harmony. It's really a mutual admiration of two belters- and an indirect passing of the baton, though Judy gets a spectacular moment of glory on "You and the NIght and the Music."
Judy respected Barbra and vice versa and Barbra was in great voice and Judy was great too but when she sang "You and the Night and the music" She even wowed Babs and Judy knew what she was doing at every second and she Let everyone know it!
Garland & Streisand perfection together in every way and bring out the best in each other...easy to see they both really enjoyed singing together and too bad they didn't do more together...loved the way Garland took it over the top in "You And The Night And The Music"! Bravo Judy & Barbra!!!
Just curious what is Judy Garland saying at 3:51 ? BTW These two together are divine. I adore Judy <3 . Her voice is so different and she blows me away every time!!!!!!
@bmnl3636 She's saying "I like a Gershwin or Arlen tune, how about you?" Harold Arlen was a composer of a great many wonderful songs, including Hooray for Love. She's modified the actual lyric, which is just "I like a Gershwin tune, how about you?"
Magnificent! When you combine the tender, legendary charismatic Garland with the belt-out to the back-row brilliance of Streisand, you've got Music Magic -- Thanks for the post!
"There's one thing they can't cut out of the budget and that's our voices!"- Judy. Great line, so true! Where's the one where they sing Get Happy and Happy Days are Here Again? That's on a Barbra Streisand album and the photo used for that is this one where they have those shirts- is there another medley performance of these 2?
These women are my teachers in life. Truly amazing, I may be only be 14.. but out generation has never seen talent like this.

I love these two together! So much positive energy and pure joy!
Also, I'm honestly curious as to why Judy was so thin. I'm all for extreme thinness but that looks dangerous. Like caused by sickness or drugs thin.

i'm sure they were both straight, but i think these two would make a great couple
