@catkiller60 Operation Sealion was a failure because of the insurmountable obstacles of the Channel, British naval superiority & air superiority,no US help, the German had no experience of beach landings, the US was seen by the Japs as a regional threat, nothing to do with Europe, we lost Singapore because of a tactical blunder, agreed, USA should have been involved from the start not 1941, the war would have been shortened by 2 years. we were fighting for freedom of the world alone.

Operation Market Garden wa the hardest battle in WW2 history (*Allied battles*).

The germans where very though in the battle for holland because is was the way to get into germany and capture berlin Berlin before the Russians did it

Think of, Stalingrad, Bulge, Midway, Iwo-Jima, Bastonge, Guadacanal... You have no idea what those battles were like in comparison. YES Market Garden was a misson with a high rate of casulties, and I shed a tear for all those who died... But please, learn your WW2 history.

@234jari234 Q1. General Model wanted to capture the town of Antwerp nad the whole of belgium by splitting the allied forces lines. Defeating both U.S and British army groups.

Q2. They formed a "fire Brigade" consisting of 40 tanks. They were able to hold the perimeter until Patton broke through German defenses and came to their aid. (The 101st still claim they didn't need rescuing)
