What you read or hear about might be true, but then so are the JD Power ratings! Go and play with your guitar please, make some money in a band then come back having owned at least 8 of varying ages & models matching my experience with them. We own a 1986 jaguar sovereign, she is in very good condition 180.000 kmh all orig they are beautiful cars these "modern" ones are based on the xj6, the interior in ours has stood up to 21 years very well as has the burl walnut veneers, they are quality built and used top materials, she is still better to drive than some of the newer Holdens and fords they still haven't caught up to her quality and styling!

The fact is that under Ford Jaguar has made huge progress quality-wise.

If you compare the quality of a pre-Ford Jag and one recently you will notice the drastic reduction in quality, at least looking at the S-Class and X-Class. As for the XJ and XK they are still high end cars, and are going to get higher end components but still, they lack what they were before.

What stats? You can look in any Ford owned Jaguar and see Ford written all over the place. The X-Type is based off the Ford Mondeo chassis, and the X-Type exists because Ford told Jaguar to make a lower priced entry level luxury car. The S-Type is also built off a Ford Platform and shares the same engine as the Taurus.

No, the x-type shares the same engine BLOCK as a Ford mondeo. only the 2.5L and 3.0L v6. But not the same exact engine. But all this does not make them a Ford.

What stats? The X-type was built off a Ford platform and the S-type as well. The whole reason the X-type was built was because Ford wanted Jaguar to make a low end model car to appeal to consumers.

This article should hint aomething to you: "Say What? Jaguar Tops German Quality Rating" (Google it, they mentioned one Jaguar joke too) And there many examples of the fact that Ford has raised once laughable Jaguar quality.

Denying this makes no sense, so consider this discussion over.

See, all you see in cars are their power. The s-type was not meant for power (except the R). The S-Type is a more affordable Jaguar that can both be driven in comfort, yet still have some fun on the twisty turns. No it does not have 500 hp, but thats not what its meant for

I agree, the S class is THE flagship sedan. The XJ is a very high class car with lots of "emotion" but nothing compares to the S class, also I ddnt type tht comment tht was done under my name? turn my back on Merc? thts a fuckin joke, but the Jaguar Gorgeous commercials are my fav car commercials
