my boston starts the choir and will just wiggle out of her skin when you walk thru the door with excitment... the Shepherd mix on the other hand will finish what the boston started =P
I have a BT who does the same thing, their all bark and no bite though when the person comes in it's all about greeting, then again maybe that's because when we open the door and the person comes in they know it's ok for that person to be in the home because we let them be in our home.
Very cute! My family also has a similar "protection plan". We just have one, but he keeps us safe from dangers such as: cats, other dogs, people and sprinklers. How do 2 BTs get along? I would love to get a playmate for my baby, Brutus.
They can be VERY protective of *their* people while together at home or in the car. BT's are real good judges of characters when it comes to strangers interacting with *their* people.
On their own at home, yeah they will bark like crazy at the door....but once the bad-guy gets in....it's mostly "hey, welcome to my home, can I fix you a sandwich?"
This is pretty surprising. I've never met BTs that were at all protective, only goofy, fun, with burst of energy that make great couch potatoes at times.
Terriers are the breeds you have to watch out for. In my lifetime I've been bitten or attacked by terriers more than bigger dogs. I'm not dissing them since I have a terrier mutt, they make the best watch dogs just pair them up with a German Shepard and you have a watch dog and a guard dog, makes for great security lol.
um, you do know boston terriers are biting you because they want to play- not because they are ferocious beasts. and yes, you are dissing them, you PUSSY!!
Boston Terriers aren't really terriers. The AKC classifies them in the non-sporting group. They have some terrier in them, but they're more like bulldogs than terriers.

My Boston saves our backyard from invading squirrels and bunny rabbits. I don't know how we'd get along with out her!

Bostons are very protective and good watch dogs. We have had Max for about two years now and he is such a little lover too.
