@KaurTube40 I disagree. While I agree the Amiga version of Dragoth was pretty bad-ass looking, I'm actually quite fond of the stylized, cartoonish graphics of the DOS version. Especially since they are animated significantly better.

Man, I do enjoyed your LP (walkthrough)!

I just liked the way how you described everything important ingame and your comments + your playstyle at those dangerous situations or puzzles were very unique!

Just keep it up, I would love to see another LP coming from you.

And now, after seeing a LP of this game, I definitely can say that DM2 is a successful follower of DM1(never had the chance to play DM2), although it somehow failed to bring back the creepy and spooky atmosphere from DM1, imo.

I've always preferred this game to DM1, if only for the significant engine improvements. However, I also was never much a fan of the extremely claustrophobic feel of the dungeon walls in DM1, haha.

Anyway, I'm actually in the process of making a new LP, and I'll hopefully have it uploaded fairly soon!

Great LP Chaos! You've got a great voice for such vids (i hate LP's with irritating voice). Watching this made find the game and currently I'm hunting the Giggler. But I have few questions for You: 1) Do other atack spells suck? Since you only tend to use the fireball. 2) Is high level ninja using a speedbow, causing damage on the same level as magician with his spells? 3) I can hear the sound in the setup, but not in the game, any ideas? (music is fine, and I run Dos box on Vista). Cheers

Thank you very much! I've been curious as to how people find my voice, so I'm glad I've got some good feedback. ;D As for your questions:

1.)Do they suck? Beats me. I just prefer the fireball because, position-wise on the spell page, the subsequent runes are very easy to hit one after another. I encourage people to experiment!

2.)I honestly have no idea, haha. I'm not a fan of the ninja weps cause I hate trying to retrieve ammo. :P

3.)I have some idea. I had a similar issue. I'll PM you.

@muk83 Hey, just to comment on some of the stuff asked here:

1) I also prefer Fireball. There is also a Lightning Bolt spell but you have to use three runes (four with the initial power rune), so it's way harder to cast in combat -- the Fireball spell has the advantage that the second and third rune are on the same place position-wise, which is very handy. There are also, if I remember correctly, two poison spells - poison cloud and poison - and the former can be useful sometimes as it creates

Respond to this video... ... a cloud of poison in the square it hits and monsters will avoid it, but Fireball is hands down the best of the offensive spells. Focus on fireball plus minion summoning spells and you should be fine.

2) Have no idea, but I still think it's not worth it - as you have to pick up the arrows manually and always put them in the quiver yourself, it's just easier to slice your enemies to pieces with your Vorax :)

Damn how do you keep moving around like that without falling off the clouds. I would have no idea where I am standing. The ending was funny I didn't expect to see real animation in a game as old as this.

I did this using DOSbox to play the game and Camstudio to record.

I downloaded Camstudio, but I can't get audio output to work. When I select "record audio from speakers I get the error message "WaveGetSelectControl() failed". And if I just record from the microphone, it records fine, but when I go to playback, it tells me "AudioOpen failed". Do you know anything about how to solve this?

Great LP! I had version without cutscenes so when I defeated Dragoth, the game just went "bye!" ... and that was one of the least satisfying moments in my life.

Great game :D BTW: won whole Dungeom Master 2 with Cletus only. Thorham dead, no other chars recruited. It r0x =d BTW2: Vorax is simply the best. Strongest weapon in game. Forget Blue steel or Fireswords. They sux. Low power. Just take weapon and drag it to eye, than click. You will see yourself :D

While it is true that Vorax's have a high 'Power', I'm not so sure that's the only thing it is based on. Namely, each weapon has, 3 attacks, generally, and I've seen the Blue Steele's Sever do just as much damage as the Vorax's Berserk. While I could be very wrong, in my experience, it seems as though certain weapons are stronger on certain enemies.

lol I CANNOT beat this guy! I've tried like 20 times and I've changed my strategy like 4 times. All he does is summon minions over and over until I die. I've only gotten him to retreat twice.

Oh scratch that.. I just beat him :3 After I damaged him a bunch I eventually fell off the clouds and made my way back. I regrouped then took him on again. He didn't regain his lost health, thank god.

Great job! I just cannot beat him, I tried it like hundred times, and he always kills me. Maybe its my bad that I have 2x blue steele and 2x fireswords (I thought they are more powerful)...

Well, the Blue Steele's are quite good, they just don't seem to be very effective against Dragoth in my experience.

No, you just cannot enter his portal, its like walking into a wall. I just tried it 5 minutes ago :-)

I have pushed dragoth off.. but nothing seems to happen. (all my dudes were really really juiced up on strength potions) and pushed him off by walking into him until he disappeared at the edge. Had to leave for a while then come back before he was up there again.

It wasn't easy tho.

Here are some hints that I use;

if all your characters use mithril boots, you don't need acceleration spells. (I only use 2 characters as I think there are only 2 pairs of mithril boots in the game)

At the magic shop near the tomb you can trade strength potions for empty flasks and get extra money as part of the trade(very good way to get money)

Do not open the last door in the circuit around the castle- it helps keep minions out of areas. remember to lock gates behind you.

Oh and supposively Dragoth drinks heal potions when he goes into his portal or so I've heard. But that didn't seem to have been the case here, I don't know...
