  • Wheres a good old winchester when you need one? XD

  • Oh my god this is hilarious, this is the first time I've stumbled upon the niche that is ragtime piano, and I just had no idea it existed on youtube and I can just imagine you people with monocles and top hats typing away at your computers. no but this is pretty awesome. I love classic stuff. Good is good, no matter from what era.

  • cute!

  • As a rock/metal musician, I must say that I actually very much enjoy ragtime, and I'm quite surprised that I enjoy it so much. This is the first day that I've really began to enjoy it. This is a great cometition, and a great peice.

  • Rock & metal musicians improvise and create new sounds and effects. It takes talent to play those genres well.

Rag time was a different style with odd rhythms and to the purist it was probaball sacriligeous to play a piano in that way.

As for Ragtime, I love it. While metal is not my favorite there are several metal pieces that I enjoy and Wizards in Winter by the Trans Siberian Orchestra is a favorite.

  • @Dylanhennessy well rock/metal sucks, it's no surprise you enjoy actual quality

  • that really is quite spectacular. where was this held?

  • Peoria, IL. It's in the video info ;-)

  • I'm gonna Charleston back to Charleston! :D

  • i dont know why but when i listen to it i always think about big bottle o good whiskey ;]

  • love it. love it.

  • He sounds like the reincarnation of George Gershwin. That's great! Glad to see someone able to master the true sound of the 20's.

  • I love it;How can i download a old time piano partiture?

    I tryied,but i didn't find anything...

  • "partiture"? what does that word mean?

  • i'm sorry...piano score

  • You can find a lot of old ragtime and ragtime-era piano music on Ted Tjaden's "Classic Ragtime Piano" website. Google it. Sorry, there's nothing post-1922, because everything from 1923 and later is still under copyright (probably including this song). If you want the music to this song, ask Ethan or find it on Ebay.

  • thx

  • A well deserved 1st...this one is going straight into my faves.

  • great

  • Man, Where Can I Get A Upright Piano Like That!?

  • That man looks like Ethan Uslan.....any relation?

  • Probably... check out his page on CD Baby

  • Eytan has very recently changed his "stage name" to Ethan, because too many people were having difficulty pronouncing "Eytan".

  • I believe his first use of the name Ethan was in October 2007 when he performed on A Prairie Home Companion.

  • Great playing!

  • Wonderful! The background and manner of dress make it even better.

  • Phenominal!

  • Fantabulous!

  • I love it!

  • I think making the piano sing is an understatement... that was amazing. :)

  • It sounded as if part of the melody was missing:/

But what was played was played fantasticaly.

  • Very cool, another one of my favorite songs. The illustration on the sheet music is really fun too.

  • he deserved that, he is also wearing clothes that match the surroundings, he looks from those times.

  • Wearing period clothes is a requirement of that competition.

  • Very nice! Whats the name of this tune? Who is it by?

  • "I'm Gonna Charleston back to Charleston"

  • Wow he really made the piano sing :)
