I think this one is a 5spd auto box and the previous CDI one is the 6 speed sequential.

it's a 5 speed sequential manual box, there is a clutch, not a torque converter, i'd love to skip gears, did 2-5 and 3-5 changes in my old cars (justy and metro, both 3 cylinders as well). sometimes i wish the smart had a regular manual, but i'm older and more lazy and live with this one, LOL.

thats exactly what i wanted at first till i compared an all black smart with a black one with the silver cell! the silver cell gives it a charm and it makes it look more exciting! you should see for yourself! red interior also looks really nice with black exterior!!

So.. first of all the Pods are still there...

It was the dashboard that was changed due to safety for Americans. It no longer features an S- Shape. Second... the gear box is now 5 Speed instead of the OLD 6 speed
