@TheSuperflyelite I'd like to disagree. Despite not being on top, he did what he loved, and enjoy every last bit of it while you can.

Another example - Schumacher. He is not on top now. But why is he racing? Because he loves it and he enjoys it no matter the place.

After a while it does not matter where you are as long as you do it and you love it. + the fact that they bith had their many years being no the top lets them relax.

It would be a different story if they never reached the top.

@TheSuperflyelite well i disagree because if you look at the numbers he was putting up he was really a legitimate all-star not just because he's MICHAEL JORDAN 22.9 ppg (which mind you kobe put up in his last season even less) 5.2 apg and 1.42 spg and even scored 40points in three games and he shot above 45% from the field and he did that as a 40 year old to me thats remarkable he even hit game winners at the age of 40 thats unheard of in any sport

Even when he was on the Wizards, he still showed some moments of greatness. That's what made Michael, Michael.
