  • how the hell do they drive so fast? do the know each corner off by heart or something

  • @f1dannn fastest sector 2 time possibly?

  • jeezuzzz christ from 17-27 seconds is fast as fuck

  • what was the time ?

  • He said that moment was very very fantastic and enjoyed driving. So that pose(1,02)was delighted. Alonso felt happy then

  • Look at 1'02''... Need more power

  • 1:02 He's moving he's hand like he was very angry or something like that

  • I hate the looks of the new cars and I wanna hear these monster engines again!!!

  • Lol yea doesn't seem like a fastest lap

  • if its the fastest then why is he behind everyone

  • 1:07 he is like: come on!!! just like go karters do on the main straight! hahaha

  • Renault had the best sounding V10s by a long way. The R24 is my favourite, after that, the engine in the Williams FW18.

  • LOL 1:03 he gets pissed at how the Williams pulls away.

  • 1.16.040

  • lol at 1:09 Alonso is saying go faster.

  • Downshift sound weird compared to 2005

  • This was the Real F1,remember watching this when im 6 years old,and i remember like has yesterday

  • Lovin' how much kerb be takes at turn 12. Awesome!

  • @rxeightjazz

    That's cheating.

  • nicely balanced car but fuck all power!

  • this was before the pot holes LOL

  • F1 car vs Chuck Norris on bmx, Chuck Norris win!

  • what time was this lap done in

  • I love how Alonso is angry at the car in front of him for slowing him down, and then he gets the fastest lap.

  • This engine sounds AWESOME

    hell i miss those days

  • bring back V6 ;) (of Course just turbo.) FIA wants Turbo Engines for 2013. but for me the car 's top speed will be 400-430km/h. i prefer 1980's, 900-1600 HP :D

  • I prefer the old Renault's car

  • @amine787 for old i mean the RE20b :)

  • 1:03 he looks happy for it

  • good lap here. not much mistake. I think he was working more hard in 2008 renault than here jeje :P

  • this lightblue - yellow paint was so beatuyfull

  • 1:02 right hand...wtf

  • @benno151

Pissed of that the engine is so shit, a few seconds later you can see him bobbing his jead forward willing the car to go faster LOL

  • @cheguverra haha he does to

  • @benno151 celebrates an awesome lap

  • Does anybody here actually remember 2003? Everybody was complaining at the time that there wasn't enough overtaking and that they miss the v12's and that they need to go back to the early 90's formula. It seems no matter how crappy F1 is 7 years later it will be thought of as a golden age.

  • @quasiphatpaul F1 crappy now? You are confused.

  • this real videos are the BEST not that crap on simulators!!!

  • it was a 1.16.043...

  • Incredible! Absolutely neat!

Look at the reduction of the gap! Not to mention that it is achieved against such a beast of a car back in 2003, the BMW!

  • 0:04

    Weird downshifts

  • 1:03 alonso maximum attack

  • v10s baby cool vid keep on youtube

  • Was at the race; my 1st time at the Gilles Villeneuve; sat in the hairpin Silver 26 only a few rows from the track...Those wide angle Renault V-10s sounded buttery smooth!

  • Is this really 2003, the car doesn't look that way. Anyways I can see its Gilles Villeneuve circuit and the sound is awesome!!

Hopefully all the commentators will get sacked from 2010 onwards, so we can hear the engine and some team radio conversation once in a while! ;-)

  • @NotImportante82

    Oh yes, it's 2003 !

  • Yeah, it is 2003, I got the DVD of this race.

And in front of Alonso is Montoya, Ralf and Schumacher

  • that sounds nasty on the downshift

  • I love the way the BMW v10 pissed all over him down the back straight!! French crap

  • @Davey2204 yet if you see F1 history, Renault has done much better than bmw. I love bmw and there are great road cars,, but they failed in F1 and Renault has not, both as a team and as an engine manufacturer.....facts are facts, so as far as F1 cars is concerned, the crap is not french (and I am not french either)

  • V10 the king!!!!!!

  • bring back the V10

  • @jffoan Was gonna say the same thing, love the v10's.

  • they will be man

    i think...

  • @jffoan if i could agree 10000000% i would listen and the way they can drive in the low rev band is rediculous <(probably spelled wrong). good chat mate

  • @jffoan sadly the next engine change will be to a four cylinder turbo :(

  • @jffoan Instead they will bring back the V4 Turbos...wait they never had those...EVER! Feminizing this sport is that old man Ecclestone!!

  • good times, good memories :)

  • J'appelle ça de la motivation juste après 1:02 ! C'est lui le meilleur.

  • 1'16.040 Renault R23 RS23 3.0 V10

  • haha xD it's so nasty @ 0:41 *drive**shift**drive**brake**CRRRRRSHH!**accelerate* xD

  • i love the sound of this renault on the downshifts. its different from other cars.

  • he made a mistake at the hairpin and was in the turbulent air of 3 cars and still got the fastest lap wow!!!!!

  • F1 needs to go back now that mad max is going to gone in 2010 thank god

  • It's funny, I dont' hear any traction control. I supposed it must have been Alonso's preference to use very little, like Button. Schumacher used huge amounts of traction control.

  • well... you cant compare schumachers and alonsos drivings styles. schumacher style is a lot more influenced by throttle and break whereas alonsos style depends on a very aggressive way of turning in.

BUT: both styles have proven speed!

  • You have a source of your fact about Schumacher? I used to think he used an average amount of TC combined with a good right feet.

  • I'm just going by my experience with their onboard cameras as well as others' commentary. I always hear lots on traction control sound on Schumacher's onboards. That is not a bash against him, if he knows how to maximize the usefulness of TC to make himself faster, I definitely respect him for that.

  • Understeer at the hairpin fucked his chance at passing the car in front.

  • Even when he was in Montoya's tow, he had no chance on the straight at start/finish. That Renault was massively underpowered if compared to the BMW.

  • racerkid2006 (2 months ago)

@ 1:04 he was celebrating coz team told him he set fastest lap

it's impossible to know for sure. It could have been anything. I'm guessing he was personally "pumping" himself up to finish a good race

  • cant be the team told him hed set the fastest lap cos he wasnt near the start finish line, im guessing he was annoyed that he couldnt get close enough the the driver infront to overtake...

  • actually you're right. he was in good position to overtake before the hairpin, but he missed the apex and the driver in front of him hit the apex perfectly.... which caused him to pull away quite quickly at 1.:02

  • vaya vuelton de alonso

  • this was the lap when he was aparently on the radio for whole time

  • tu sei il migliore alonso!!!!!! forza ferrari

  • @ 1:04 he was celebrating coz team told him he set fastest lap

  • Comment removed

  • What was he doing at 1:04?

  • I'm guessing he's pissed off 'cause the Renault was down on power by so much to the BMW Williams in front...

  • anyone know what Fernando was doing with his left hand on the steering wheel before every corner

  • You mean preassing something with his thumb? Most likely taking a sip of water.

  • he was doing it way to frequently to be a drinks button.

  • well canada is renowned as a ''brakes'' track, so its not impossible that he's changing brake bias forwards and rearwards to even out the strain

  • maybe, it could be some kind of engine mapping i guess.

  • i think he's changing gear

  • it was probably changing brake bias

  • Alonso was selecting a setting on the differential for each corner with his left hand.

The brake bias, is usually a rotary knob on the right behind the steering wheel.

    Hope this hepls you all?

  • That´s not the fastest lap of that race.

  • You're right. I was at that grand prix, and it was sunny on race day.

  • beat gay michael? who has more WDC??? nuff say you gay ass mutherfucker :)

  • He who beat Gay Michael.

  • great stable car and my favorite circuit. He was able to break soooo late on the penultimate/hairpin corner (before the long straight) but the car didn't lock up or swap ends under antiroll. Such a good car for the lack of power it apparently had. You would have thought the ferrari's would have killed it on the straight, just shows that cars can make up for it in other areas...hugging the curb, getting early on the power etc.

  • was it 2003 or a couple of years later where fernando set the fastest lap whilst being on the radio during the 1st sector?

  • something like that, he was fastest lap in 2003 in canada

  • Even in montoyas slip stream he was falling back down the straight. That renault had no power at all. Alonso did great things in that car.

  • F1 cars aren't that efficient in slip-streams. You have to get within 3 car lengths to get a 20% reduction in drag (although these are the figures for current cars). But yes, the wide-angle V10 was not the best idea by Renault -- they were reporting under 800BHP during 2003, which is the same as now!

  • Great driving, 2003 what a season that was.

  • Yup Luke, hes just frustrated by the cars lack of straight line speed. With a good engine he would have been able to have had a go at Montoya.

  • the 2003 renault was very good in terms of handling and aerodynamics, but the engine suffered high loss of power cause of that 111 degree angle v10

  • fanando gets angry druring the last part of that lap.

  • that car is stable as hell

  • Noo, he is happy!!! festeja a lo loco.
