  • I sure dont know, but have a strange bug to share too.

What bug is this ? Anyone.

  • house centipede!!! i want one as a pet!

  • House centipede. They're creepy things :(

  • silverfish+cricket cross-gene

  • Makes my skin crawl

  • they sting you at night. itch like crabs

  • Scutigera coleoptrata, indigenous of the mediterranean area, they are now worldwide.

In Italy we allow them to roam free in our houses, because they are excellent flies and mosquito hunters.

You should be happy to have one, she's pest controlling your house. :)

  • He moves soooooo cool !! O.o

  • In reality, these little buddies here actually eat 75% of other household pests. One of the most beneficial bugs to have in your home.

Too bad it is as scary as a motherfucker though.

  • That's a house centipede (scutigera)

  • @LEF465213

    This answer is completely correct!

  • silverfish is the name

  • @apstephens97 Nope, people get them confused but silverfish are a totally different bug

  • i'll tell u wat it is its a house centipede it eats spiders and ants and other animals and dont touch it

  • i've seen this bug in july 16 2008. it was the most weird bug i've ever seen, well not really, i've seen a caterpillar that is super puffy and if you touch it, you could die. but this is a spider

  • i wonder how it does not stumble while running?

  • it is the house centipede wikedqueenamanda is not the only one with brains

  • its called a centipede.

  • so would that be a housapede?

  • LOL My son called this a housapede too! We got back from vacation and it was lurkingin our tub.

  • There Called House Centipedes

  • THERE UGLY OH MA GOD...I HATE BUGS

  • Scutigera coleoptrata if I am not mistaken.

  • same here!!

  • I was 5 once an while taking a bath I saw one of theses fuckers floating. They come out right now since its summer. I only see one about once every 3 weeks.

  • I think anyone who kills one of these isn't very bright. XD

They're extremely beneficial in killing things that in fact COULD harm someone. Like spiders, bedbugs, fleas, etc.

catch them with a jar and let them go. honestly. XD

  • were i live there are no dangerous spider

    i like the spiders better

this centipede bit me and it hurt

and spiders do the same thing so one or the other it doesnt matter

  • hcanuck7, they can sting, but it's nigh on impossible for their bitty pinchers to pierce human flesh. On the very rare occasions when they do manage to sting people, it's no more dangerous/painful than a bee sting or a mosquito bite. They're actually very shy and are more likely to run when you come at them.

  • These are in my house every night i kill them with a yard stick. I filmed my dog eating one check it out

  • that was in my sink ..its a type of centipied

  • You are not alone. 2 days ago, I was going to have a shower. I flicked my towel on the counter and I heard a light 'thud' (!) - thinking it was a moth or something else. Wrong. An inch plus long. I sprayed it with Tilex. the vain little bugger was more interested in grooming its antennae than exfiltrating from its area of operation.

  • rofl.

  • i just killed one of these fuckers 2 minutes ago, it was scurrying across my ceiling and scared the crap out of me, and they go fucking fast. Nothing the ol shoe couldnt handle though.

  • Kill that fucking pede bro

  • What the hell is wrong with you? Don't EVER touch a Centipede again! They have a poisonous bite. You're lucky it didn't bite you the first time you touched it!

  • actually, these don't bite. instead, they STING... not just that, but they sting THROUGH THEIR LEGS... but they only use their sting on prey. never anything else. still i would never touch one... too CREEPEH >_>

  • Their sting only causes skin inflamation.

  • Actually, House Centipedes are not harmful to humans.

  • Large ones may be able to sting humans.

  • when you spray them with raid there legs pop off and keep moving it looks really sick

  • Must die :/ NAO

    :\

  • itz a centipede

  • cristiebird39, these things make the earwigs and spiders that I used to have a mortal fear of now tame by comparison...especially when just 2 years ago I had never seen one! I'm not a big fan of pesticides in general but these things make me thankful for RAID!!!!!

  • SCUTIGERA

  • silverfish

  • noo...

  • You are right, or related family member -"Lepisma saccharina"

  • no... they do feed on silverfish though lol. it's called a House Centipede. look it up on wikipedia. no matter how freakishly disgusting they are, they're actually kinda cool.

  • Hey, that creature in your video is called a "house centipede"

  • horrible things they are! I have a knife that i use to kill them. I call it Gumomaru. I cremated one today

  • Its a common house centipede - they don't like crumbs or human food - the only reason you see them is cuz you got bugs that like crumbs and human food. Centipedes run around all night eating roaches, silverfish, termites, earwigs and all the truly bad bugs. Like spiders they are essentially clean up bugs and very beneficial - just unfortunate they look so creepy - everyone makes the mistake to fear rather than respect them.

  • george383, you DO make a valid (and well thought out) point! Intellectually I would agree with you...but emotionally I can't, I just can't! Once they come into my house, all bets are off!!! LOL! ;-) ;-)

  • Dang you touched that thing??? I NEVER knew how to get rid of them cause I couldn't even catch it. Ugh!

  • yeah those things are creepy, i saw one that was like 2 and a half inches long in my bed room, i didn't sleep in there for a good 3 months, they eat a lot of household bugs but i still don't want them in my house

  • dudez i saw 1 uv dem under a brick in my yard it wuz freaky

  • but it wont hurt u

  • its a disgusting house centipede ther all over my room BLEH heads up NEVER pick the basement room EW just google them....heads up the do bite

  • little alien! wish i had a RC robot that looked like that, only bigger and faster, scare shit outa ppl, lol

  • i went to go to a crap and then it notice there is something on the wall. and then oh damn its a centipede. i shit myself, but good thing i was at the toliet. those things scare the living shit out fo me

  • I just killed one of these in my apartment. God, they are creepier than heck.

  • holy crap one time i saw one and screamed so loud the nieghbors came rushing in.

  • these things are creepy as hell, but they eat other bugs and pests. Truth is, theyre harmless. Theire teeth are too small to penetrate human skin. they hide in my bathroom alot and its creepy when ur in the shower and u spot one in the corner. ive slayed countlless of these, but they wont stay away =O

  • lol, they spying on you

  • these will actually kill other bugs like spiders and roaches. do some research, still pretty creepy.

  • i hate them!

  • eww it is a house centipede

  • This is a house centipede

  • the ones at my house get fucking big

  • one ran across my desk yesterday, i shit my pants. they were expensive jeans.

  • i hate centipedes. i get a lot at my house and they scare the shit out of me

  • i cry when i see them!

  • pretty much the only bug creepier than a cockroach... first time i saw one had no clue what it was either

  • its a house centipede dumbass

  • these are the scariest things of all time

  • House Centipede - nasty looking but harmless (they eat bugs)

  • if i could choose 1 creature to become extinct this would be it

  • Definately.

  • agreed!

  • house centipede

  • For the record, House Centipedes are harmless.

Some people say that they bite, but the only things that they hurt are small bugs smaller than themselves.

They would sooner run away from a human, than attack one.

  • THIS "BUG" IS THE... HOUSE CENTIPEDE. AKA... SCUTIGERA COLEOPTRATA.

read about it in wikipedia. : )

  • its a centipede a house centipede

  • I hate those bugs and deh get BIGGER!

  • i have those all over my basement.. well not really but i have seen them and my rooms in the basement and i woke up with one right on my wall next to where i was sleeping and it scared the shit outta me cus their fricken disgusting and creepy as shit

  • house centipede.. they move there legs like that because they have multiple "brains" controlling there legs..they are an invasive species from the mediterraean

  • Small species of centipede I've heard.

  • fuck the geji geji

  • joe you're hilarious

  • It's called a "Discronifacating Xenomorph", they crawl up you butt while you're sleeping and live in your colon, when they grow up they rip their way out of your chest, usually while you're eating with large numbers of people.

  • I heard them called Silverfish..but that might be something else

  • nevermind silverfish are something else that are satanic.

  • whats so satanic about it i looked it up on wiki and couldnt find anything satanic...

  • A silverphish!

    A.K.A. House centipede

  • its a house centipede

  • House centipede OR Scutigera coleoptrata. go look it up on wikipedia. they have the same exact thing on the pic

  • nvm, he already has the wikipedia on the info, damn

  • do they now? well that's handy, but still... they look creepy as fcuk

  • House centipede.

    LOLOLOL, everyone has stories.

  • if they werent so fast they wouldnt be nearly as creepy as they are

  • FLUSH IT FLUSH IT SO IT CAN DIE!!!

  • People need to realize that these things are in your house because they're living on something, as in another insect. Spray for bugs... the house centipedes go away if there's nothing to eat. Chuck them outside if you want; they're fine not in a house, too.

  • I throw water on them it weighs the legs down but it's even worse to see them move when they are all wet like a deformed worm gross. I found one in my bed one summer ever since I had to check the mattress and shake out the covers I even slept in a puddle of water cause I couldn't bring myself to kill it with my bare hands I just threw a cup of water on my bed.

  • Kill it! Kill the fucker!

One time as I was going to sleep one of those things was on my pillow. Didnt notice it till i laid down! Luckly i had a Jerry Signfeld book next to me...That tought him never to go on my bed again...But it scared the SHIT out of me.

  • OMG! Everybody knows that this is an ant...DUH!!!

    LMAO!!! I'm totally kidding...it's a house centipede...ha ha

  • what? no its not a centipede, its a red ant that has lazor vision!!! if u see one the best thing to do is.... RUN AND GET UR MOM TO KILL IT!!! hahahaha lol

  • LMAO!!! THE MOM TRICK ALWAYS WORKS!!! Ha Ha

  • Unless your mom is scared of bugs.

  • True...I never thought of that...ha ha

  • So True!

when i see one i always tell my mom to kill it xD

its very creepy with its long legs and fast speed that im scared of it >.>

  • kill it its a centipede

  • how can you touch are you completely out of your mind show it the shoe!

  • dude my friend jared had one in a container in his dresser hes weird

  • I had one craw up my leg in my bed in the middle of the night, i didnt sleep the rest of the summer !!!!!

  • Scutigera coleoptrata

  • House centipede! Ugly as hell but said to be a beneficial predator that hunts other nasty house bugs, such as spiders and mites. We have one. Thank god I rarely see it. It freaks me out. I've named ours George (because it looks like a walking "Bush!").

  • OMFG LMAO THAT IS SOOO FUNNY! hahahaha! but true they are beneficial. and ugly as hell, and creep the shit out of me :P

  • ew man.. i ant believe you touched it.. they are the most disgusting things ever.. and im an animal lovee.. i cant bring myself to like these things.. they scare the shit out of me

  • EWW GROSS!

  • Those bitches killed all spiders in my house! Now my house is full of flyes and other flying shit.

  • yea house centipede i get em all the time. It's gross because when u spray em it's legs fall off but they keep moving even when there detatched...

  • It's a house centipede. They give a painful bite but do kill many other household pests such as silverfish and spiders.

  • I hate those centipedes. I get them in my bathroom. They have a small brain for every leg, allowing them to move as fast and accurately as they do.

  • ew I HAVE THOSE IN MY HOUSE

  • ITS A HOUSE CENTIPEDE

    THERE SCARY AS FUCK

    even though there not harmful.

    THERE STILL SCARY!!!

  • first time i saw one i thought it was out of a scene from Men in Black

  • its a centipede

  • lol those only live in dark and humid places....matches the description of your house

  • ita a type of Centipede

  • kill the queen bug!!!!! she will eat u

  • that will kill you like it killed my dog!

  • EEw you touched it lol fuckn kill it!

  • It's a house centipede alright...I used to see them all the time in my old house...probably because it was made of brick, and they like to hide in rock crevices and such...:) They're speedy little boogers!

  • THEY RUN FAST AS HELL! i use to see alot in my old basement...

  • its called a house centipede, and i have a phobia to those things, i get scared when they come into my moms house

  • you and me both, i feel for you

  • I have a couple in my house, do they bite?

  • Yeah, but you've basically got to be dumb enough to grab one in order to get them to do it. I hear it feels like a bee-sting

  • Oh okay, gotcha lol. So in most cases, it would most likely run away, not attack?

  • They're actually pretty non-aggresive and are more interested in simply getting away than going on offense, if they do come towards you it's usually out of panic and confusion. There's somewhere another close-up Youtube video where a guy has one in a tray and keeps repeatedly annoying it with a pair of tweezers, it never does anything more than try to crawl away. If they weren't so damn fast and UGLY I'd just leave them alone and let them eat the other bugs, but unfortunately it's WAR!

  • I agree 100%, this is war lol. They look like they'll be very aggressive, and are pretty creepy. I'm just thankful I don't have an infestation, just a couple wandering bastards!

  • yes, they do bite, but its less painfull than a bee sting. The good thing about them is that they eat and kill household pests like spiders, bedbugs, termites, cockroaches, silverfish, ants and other household arthropods.

  • That things tiny there fucking huge up here in Mass. like 5-6 inches and there thick too.

  • We have those things in France (south of france) They are so fucking fast !

  • 'Scutigera' or 'House Centipede'. Here in Ohio, we get a good amount of these bastards in the house, even if clean or with no clutter! It scares the shit out of my 3 year old, and freaks us out when we see these things bolt across the room. I bought a cordless hand vac just so I can vac these bastards up when I see them (if I can catch them). Some are pretty big too! Anyone know if there is any product to get rid of them?

  • Ortho Home Defense works great, also roach powder (Boric acid) works awesome too if you dust it all around the corners and places they hide. Keeping the house and basement dry is essential also, I've done all these things and went from a MAJOR problem to almost none at all.

  • Yep, that is a house centipede. Fast buggers.

  • wtf is that thing. i saw a few before and i like called it a needle bug, but seriously wats it called

  • it's a house centipede. i have tons in my wet ass basement. i zap them with spray paint and watch them die while stuck to the wall. it's funny.

  • Hairspray makes them stick to themselves so they can't move! :)

  • HOUSE CENTPEDE!

  • Definitely House Centipede.

  • OMG! Look at its legs go! Fucking awesome.

  • fucking house centipedes. kill that shit

  • House Centipedes - the latest pet craze!

Buy some and bring them home for the wife and kids!

Only $19.95 per dozen, order now and we'll include a bag of brown recluse spiders absolutely free!

  • That sounds sarcastic, but I would actually like to buy some house centipedes. They are insect predators which means that they eat all the other insects that actually damage your house or bite you. If you have every had bed bugs you would love these guys.

  • Yeah they have their uses, especially if you have a problem with roaches.

  • You'd be surprised... there's actually enough of a fascination with these creatures in Japan that they really are sold in japan as exotic pets. No lie.

  • Well then they can have all of mine, I won't even charge them!

  • Yes, a house centipede. Ick. I was in the shower the other day and turned around and one was in the corner. I jumped out so fast! I sprayed it with water and rinsed it down the drain. I HATE THOSE THINGS!!!

  • DON'T TOUCH IT! KILL IT!

  • No let him touch it......then kill it LOL
