Yeah, me too, but that probably got more to do with the type of guitar you are using and how your amp sounds. I got a cheap richwood Les paul and skytronic amp, so you can't get the sound he gets from his Gibson SG. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm quite certain.

yeah the wolfmother guitarist has a sg standard. He's got a faded cherry version his is more vintage sound but his sounds like the song. I have on of those $50 peice of shit guitars. I just ordered a ibanez xiphos now. I am going to love it when I first get to play it.

He's probably using light gauge strings, so the top strings that aren't wound aren't very visible.

Haha! I TOTALLY used that trick when I was in the studio recording. But - not here. My strings are very old and tarnished. Black from months and months of filth and misuse. It's what gives me superior tone. ROCK!
