If I want a fast multicore processor that can run all of my programs, I have no choice but, to either use intel or amd processors.
I can't go to Texas Instruments, Fujitsu, Sun Microsystems or IBM, it's has to be either intel or amd because my programs don't work on them because intel won't license out their x86 architecture to more than one company.
I just wanna have more options and this whole "AMD vs. Intel" thing fells like a two choice dictatorship and as an American, I like liberties.
@commodore256 You wanna have more options of brandnames? Because what you're saying is that all companies should be selling equally high quallity products, so that your choice would be arbitrary and meaningless. The reason Intel and AMD get your purchase is what? Because they offer the better product! Well good for them. Good for you, too. Good that the other guys who did inferior work are not given equal rewards, so that better work actually yields just rewards! Why complain?
Ryan Radia is either totally ignorant on the subject or he is a LIAR.
Extremely poor interview. The interviewer is totally ignorant on the subject. Intel is GUILTY of antitrust. The facts of the case are not even discussed truthfully.
AMD gave us an integrated memory controller and Intel copied it and Ryan is asking, "Why innovate, when you can file antitrust to gain market share?"

@eggory Dude, I said that a year ago.
Anyway,It's not that the i7 is better than Power7. (IBM CPU)
The IBM Poewr 7 kicks the shit out of the i7. The only problem is it can't run x86 programs (like windows)
The only reason why third parties can't make x86 CPUs is because the law is in the way of innovation.
We're not in a AMD/Intel world because they're the best, we're in a AMD/Intel World because we're locked in.

Great work buddy- it's pretty condemning on the EU. I wonder what their response would be?
