  • i have a really good question, why the hell are you installing a hid kit into reflector headlights? do you want to piss people off by blinding them?

  • @simpsons790 GOOD question. Some people just shit on other humans' lifes.

  • but now you have no high beam.

  • He talks like that because he's reading the instucton lol

  • you dont hook anything up to the battery.. and installation level how hard is this, i have a alero will it be hard to install?

  • this is the Headlight:

SONAR 95-99 PLYMOUTH NEON HALO PROJECTOR HEADLIGHTS

    I find this in ebay....

  • maybe you can help me. i jus installed Bi-Xenon on a 2008 Ford F150. Two problems: (1) when i start my engine, the passenger side wont automativally come on as the driver side does. (however if i turn the knob all the way to the right, it will kick on) and (2) my high beam indicator light remains illuminated. (there is no difference in my high or low beam when engaged either) Please help as soon as possible as i am in the military and dont get a chance to be online too often.

  • This is a great video and he sounds vary professional,Good job. I guess everyone expects some white rice burner hardass talking all HIDs yooooo for real dawg. People need to grow up you all deserve to die in december of 2012 disrespectful peices of shit rot in slime.

  • Cheap hids

  • I suffer from voice immodulation Tina. I'm unable to control the pitch or volume of my voice. Also known as Van Horton's Syndrome, VI is a recognized psycho-medical condition which you may have read about in Newsweek or Crack Magazine.

  • lol everyone makes it seem like u need a video to install these...its probably the easiest mod in the world if u cant do this u shouldnt modify car.

  • straight and to the damn point. nice.

  • i got a 1996 dodge ram. i just got the hid kit n installed it but i dont know how to get my high beems to work, can u help me out with that?

  • ned from south park

  • Hi i have a spotlight with a h4 halogen bulb. this should be a drop in kit?

  • He sounds like a speak and spell.

  • woah woah woah when did he connect it to the battery?

  • This HID kit does not work for this 2003 Honda Civic as you can not place the protective grommet back in place behind the bulb. Another thing to note is that the buld will not sit properly with this kit as the wire locks will not sit flush against the bulb.

  • This Hid kit wont even pass inspection because their is no high beam!!

  • @GLOWHID who gives a fuck about inspection

  • @GLOWHID If your car doesn't have separate high beam lights you should either get a newer car or get a bixenon kit

  • lol talks like a robot who only knows how to repeat the instructions

  • THEN!!!!

  • mine's better :D

  • you sound like an army man lmao

  • He's a cyborg!

  • Nice demonstration and i liked the video...

    Thanks & Love,

    kris.

  • I feel like im being given a lecture on safety before the plane takes off lol.

  • dont hate on this guy he was very helpful on the confusing part of install for people who do not know. you basicly do that to the other side and ground one wire to - on batt and hook up the red wire to + on batt lol. very simple

  • I almost thought at the end of every sentence..my dude was about to say "now you plug the male end to the female end..>AIIIIGHT???" loll

  • @MrChitocan

Don't you have to install a rely for that. I read that in another comment were a guy was having trouble getting bothe of his lights gto go on or one turning on b4 the other. Try looking tht up

  • how come you didnt connect it to the battery?

  • @deevibez You don't need to connect it directly to the battery. The ballast will be connected to the harness at one side and to the new bulb at the other side.

  • hahahha "Instalator"

  • i have a 97 silverado with 50,000 kit and i can only get one light to work at a time what can i do to get both

  • hahaha i think he needs to be rebooted. lol

  • i have a 97 sierra and im wonderign would replaceing the 65watt high beam with 6000k hids make a big difference?"

  • @Dansz71sierra HUGE difference. 4k would be brightest. And since there are no legal restrictions (unless its just Minnesota) on high beam strength, BLIND AS MANY PEOPLE AS YOU CAN!

  • Do you need to have projector style headlights for hid to look nice? I was told hid in my stock GMC Sierra headlights would judt look blurry and all over the place! IDK

  • I did everything u did! on my sisters 06 equinox! and it didnt work! i connected everything right and only high beams worked! Help me out!

  • @itzMandohoez that means that she/you bought a kit for the high beams light.. that means that the equinox have 2 bulbs.. low beams and high beams! gotta buy the low beams kit... and if its only one bulb for the 2 beams.. you have to buy a BI-Xenon Kit.. or it'll cause the HID to work on only 1 beam like it did in yours..

  • feeling a little... robotronic? lol. in all seriousness, excellent demo.

  • lol man this guy dose sound like a robot

  • nice tutorial thanks

  • FAT ASS BALLAST.

  • Sound man. Must install them in Mirage soon

  • yes this guy talks like a robot BUT he does a very good job explaining straightfowardly what to do

  • robocop

  • Hey what if my ride has like plastic hard covers on the headlight that the rubber cover like this honda, how would you work around that? Like obviously you wouldn't leave the covers out right? And if we do the wiring the covers won't fit.. any help/suggestion plz?

  • ive had an 06 F-150 and now i have a 93 Sierra and both trucks i installed the 8000k kit and didnt have a problem. didnt melt the housing.

  • are you fucking doing brain surgery with them cloves on?

  • @Bahzad23 dont touch halogen bulbss with your fingers!

  • is the ballasts waterproof

  • I have a question about HID lights. Don't HID lights burn much hotter? If it burns much hotter won't that melt the Factory light housing or headlight lens? I ask because I see everyone just installing HID into their factory Headlight housings like in this video and I'm thinking the housing will melt over time or if you leave it on for a 30 minute trip.

  • @moofushu they do burn hot, they will scorch and melt your housing, my buddy had them and had nothing but trouble. try projector headlights, or just buy the tinted halogen bulbs that look like HIDs.

  • @moofushu Hmmm ur somewhat correct

    But Fyi

If ur car do have halgen bulb by default than u dont have to worry coz hid and halogen make the same temp level about 65 c to 70 c

I'm referring to the H4 6000K HId in replacement to the Normal H4 Halogen

    Always go for 6000 K

  • @moofushu Halogen puts out the same temperature as HID Bulbs most times, In fact the HID was 3 degrees cooler when I tested with my meter... 66 vs 69 on the halogen...hope you feel a little more comfortable if you want to buy a pair now.

  • holy shit, robocop! hahhahaa good work on teaching people how blind oncoming traffic!!

  • Just tried to install HID on one of my vehicles (chevy equinox) the daytime running lights screwed up the whole thing and they were flashing randomly during the day, at night they worked, but all the flashing burned out one bulb.

Fuck it...im just leaving stock on there.

  • @agenthelios Lol you're funny man.. Don't get mad, everything's gonna get better

  • y dnt the fucking high lights work on OF A ROBOTIC BITCH!

  • who knew microsoft sam was good with cars

  • where i can secure the ballast for civic 2005 ex ? i dont want to use 3M tape!!!

  • So this lights you install are just regular Bulbs and plugging in 2 wires then you loose your Hi and stuck with only Lo...................Correct?

  • Thanks for posting this. This video was very useful!

  • can some1 help me?i had a 9004 HID kit for 98 Maxima,it has low and high beam and its 10000k,the connect really simple, but when i turn it on its not ocean blue as described its kind of yellow white and i notice that small bulbs is on not the long 1,when i try high beam its turn on blue but 1 side only.I dont know wat 2 do guys, the connection only go 1 way, there's no relay kit on it.....TY!!!

  • So are the HID's just for the driving lights and not the Hi Beams? cuz my car has 2 seperate bulbs for driving lights and hibeams....or would i need 2 HID kits?

  • @JMKBEAST20 yeah. some kits come with 4 bulbs, if theyre made for your car tho.

  • This guy is a epic pimp

  • @cineamax he talks firm and correct

  • you need a relay

  • hid without projector = stupid

  • @immortal4942 correct. also very dangerous. reflector based headlights cant correctly direct the amount and type of light produced by an HID bulb

  • Wheres your Number!?

  • is this xzibit, sounds just like that fool!

  • do u know how to hool hids up on a ATV

  • GOOOD EXPLANATION

  • is it just me or does this guy sound like a robot when he talks...... none the less helpfull

  • I'm a tech for Dave and Busters for over 12 years

    the reason for gloves

is to protect the bulb from body oil

as you know your body releases oil

and if gets to the bulb will crack as soon as it gets hot.

  • exactly

  • never touch the bulbs only the terminals and the wires!

  • cool. u just showed people how to blind other drivers. i didn't see any projector set up to direct that light.

  • Hey SUBWAYGUY48!!!

YOU DO KNOW HOW TO INSTALL THAT HUH? I THINK YOU DON'T KNOW!, CAUSE YOUR COMMENT IS NONESENSE! STUPID!

  • you sound like a twat.

  • why the mechanic wears a latex surgery gloves?

    it's so stupid!!!

  • I have read that you should not touch the bulb. Why? I dont know I guess you will do something to the gas.

This is a pro installation, that is why he is wearing gloves. But agree looks pretty awkward.

  • you wear gloves while handling the bulbs because your hands and fingers have grease on them and u dont want to get any of that grease on the bulb because it will make the bulb last as long and it will heat up the bulb more then it needs to be

  • to not damage the bulbs with bare hands and dust dumbass

  • how can you damage the bulbs if your following instructions? you can even do it w/o the gloves!!! stupid!

    bobo!

    tanga!

  • why does my dealership want to charge me 2 hours of labor to install these? what a joke, thank you for this video

  • i use zero to sixty auto works for all my hids they are awsome there! google them

  • He has the voice of a drill instructor! Thats awesome! Hoo Rah

  • hahahah i know right.....

  • man, you talk just like the Terminator

  • haha this fool cant read lol

  • that looks simple

  • All 'instructional' video's look simple ... But! ALWAYS keep in mind that during the process of building in HID conversion sets like these that location of the bulbs in the headlight can be an issue as far as accessibility goes. Hence, the high voltage electrode next to the actual xenonbulb is very fragile therefore reasonable accessibility can be very welcome. If it breaks you might as well throw it away. Next, the clip that holds the original halogen bulb is now used to hold the xenonbulb...

  • ... This bulb comes with two high voltage wires. If the bulb is placed in its socked usually the clip won't fit very well or might damage the bulb while hanging loose in its socket. A trick in order to avoid that is loosen the clip, place the bulb, find the holes where the clip used to be and hook it back in. Now the wires aren't in the way or stuck. Next is to drill a hole to adapt the rubber plug which leads the wires out of the watertight cover at the back of most headlightunits.

  • This can be a painstaking job if the accessibility is an issue! Last, find a proper place to fit the ballasts. Don't fit a ballaste to close to your fanbelts or other moving parts or the wiring coming from the ballast might shave against it causing sever damage to the whole HID setup.

All in all, if done properly it could well take an hour or two to get it done. Sometimes accessibility is great so installation could be straighforward... but sometimes.... 50/50 I'd say

  • this guy sounds like shaggy from ICP haha

  • Nice vid Robocop

  • @GTiR23 URE COMMENT MADE MY DAY LOL

  • because he is, a very bad one with the voice processor damaged.

  • This guy's monotone voice is hilarious

  • He does talk like a retarded robot. Wow.

  • @rickyhinds

who cares, he's providing you help for free, accessible 24/7

  • uh... no hid projectors? That's why I hate Civics with HID conversions... they'll BLIND the hell out of you. Why don't Vendors stress the point that HIDs ARE NOT FOR HALOGEN headlights. Gaw'd Dam'it!

  • Los guantes son para que no toques los Bulbs de hid porque se danan wey...

  • @Ramiz325 SHUT UP RAMIZ... u eho de puta!!!!.. pinche

  • no mames wey que combinasiones de malas palabras te echas asta me ofendes hahaha Neta eres un ESTUPIDO de primera classe..

  • @ROLDANMENDOZAUCV

oil from your hands can cause the bulbs to fail prematurely, Pendejo eres tu

  • hy i m having the same hid kit bt i have lost one of the bracket from where i can find another one???

  • i just got my kit, not the same one as this but it's a 35watt kit so i dont need a relay either i don't think.

  • Lol Robot Voice I love it.

  • man that nigga didnt say half of the things he should of say its alot more work den that

  • hi.

i did the same thing as you did but after 40 minutes running with my 8000K HID on, the left ballast suddenly burned out (burned at the thick cable) does anybody know why ?

  • I have 07 chrysler 300 n would like to know how to install a hid kit , a good one that dose not fliker or damage the car

  • huuuuge balasts

very helpful though. its really easy, but its nice to have something to make sure you're doing it right!

  • That voice...

  • lol robotic

  • What do relay wiring do to the Hid?

  • Relays are elctrically controlled switches. Some peopel use relays to install hids, so that the vehicles old harness for the headlights will tell the relay when to turn on, and the relay take power from the battery, to the HID.

This is not neccessary for 35 watt hid kits, so long as your headlamp circuit is capable of 15 amps.

35 watt kits pull 6.4 amps at peak during start up.

55 watt kits pull 8.4 and require relays in most applications.

  • ok. i will try home. you shup up know

  • reminds me of bling bling

  • this guy is a robot XD

    LOoooooOL

    thanx man

  • C'mon fellas. Every1 watching this video shuld kno this is the WRONG way to install HIDs. All vehicle's STOCK/OEM WIRING are NOT made to handle the start-up or maintenance of the HID power! Sure HIDs use LESS power than Halogen once warmed up. But that start-up requires many AMPS! Especially when it gets cold! (Hmmm, is that why its flickering in the final secs of the Vid?).They will heat-up FASTER and the lights will not be as bright. & Over time-it will fry your car's computer.

    GET A RELAY!

  • 35 watt hid kits pull 6.4 amps on start up per ballast, a 15 amp headlight circuit is capable of this. No relays required.

The bulbs flicker because tiny peices of mater are being vaporised in the arc of the bulb during warm up.

Headlights can in no way fry your computer, You are not only misimformed about HID installation, you are also a moron.

  • Actually, the "Flicker" people speak of is a result of the Forward Control Module (FCM) on modern vehicles, which is programmed at the factory to sense a certain current draw on the wiring. Factory headlamps draw 45-55 watts or more. The HID setup draws less power and thus, the computer thinks a bulb is burnt out and it toggles power to the harness. A simple capacitor harness fixes this issue.

  • lol yea he sounds like vin diesel lol

    but thanks 4 the tips

  • thanks robot man this helped.. :}

  • has anyone installed one of theese on an rsx. Do you really have to take the bumper off?

  • pat12047, you dont have to take off your bumper. It may be more comfortable and roomy to do so, but you can still install the hid's without removing your bumper. the rsx's engine bay does look a bit cramped

  • yes i have and no i dont need to its pretty easy

  • sweet and simple

  • I have an 06 corolla with DRL and my hid never worked properly. I then added a relay harness and it solved the one light turning on problem sometimes....I had to get rid of them, what's up with that???

  • mine just flickers and turns off and i tried with and with out relay

  • robot voice

  • Thats Vin Diesel doing part time in installing HID kits.

  • LOLOLOLOLOLLOLOLOLO

  • How long do these HID bulbs last for?

  • around 3000 hours

  • Dude sounds like a robot.

  • plain and simple

  • this is by far the best hid install on youtube

  • I have Lexus rx300 i install HID light. There is a problem. When i turn them on my driver side light 1 day is working fine 1 day is not working. When i turn them on my driver light stay on for 1 second then shuts off,i changed the light position but same thing,i turn them off turn on same thing over and over.Anybody can help what is wrong thankyou.

  • possibly a bad ground fried your ballast. same thing happened to me

  • you have to get a relay kit. it will solve your problem.

  • hey i know whats wrong, same thing happened to me. the metel box thing, idk what its called but came with your kit is fried, take it out and smell it if it smells burnt then thats what u need to replace

  • u say dat it is an h4 bulb.... i also have an h4 hid kit but my bulbs come with a metal shield surrounding about less than half of the bottom part of the bulb, which basically reflects light upward... is the shield necessary? cuz i wanna take mine off... also my bulbs shine about equal brightness, but for some reason when im driving theres always more light shifted to the right... sort of like a "J"... n its always been that way n i dont kno to fix it...

  • The metal shield prevents the bulb from shining in other driver's faces. That is why it is a low beam. It is supposed to shine low. The J that you see is actually natural. The passenger side is always slightly higher or farther reaching than the drivers side. The driver's side is lower to prevent you from blinding on coming traffic.

  • ................

  • how do you connect to the battery???

  • how do you connect to the battery to get power?? i just got my kit and i cant figure that out

  • cuz you dont have a relay kit

  • NICE CANCER VOICE

  • LOL, like the way they make no mention to the fact these are not road legal so you should never be fitting them to a road car to start with.

  • No, they are illegal in certain color temperatures. Anything above 8000K is usually illegal. They are also illegal if they are not in a projector housing with a cutoff. In conventional headlights, the HID beam becomes scattered which can blind other motorists.

  • The bulbs are not DOT approved and in so are not legal to use on the road in the US. The NHTSA has taken many retailer to court who were selling such kits fraudulently as DOT approved and/or street legal. There also not E approved so are not road legal in Europe.

  • Wow...I got a lot of thumbs down, ouch. :P

My mistake. I think I confused the requirements for factory HID vs. aftermarket retrofit kits.

But I do know the law that passed in 203 has had no effect on the sale of aftermarket HID kits because it's not at all enforced on the level it should be.

  • However, there is a retailer on jc whitney that sells HID replacements for sealed beams, and so, they also sell the housing.

  • You Sound Like One Of Those Sargents No Offence lol But Thanx For The Vid Its Simple

  • Would this instilation be easy on a 98 passat b5?

  • hi, i want to buy some HID kit but the color that i want is the Lexus, Benz, BMW etc. HID stock color, but i really don't know which one is, which one do you recommend for me? 5600k or 4300k??? please help!!!

  • 6000K is what you looking 4

  • but 6000k is baby blue right?

  • bmw and most of new models use that temp color (6000k) it's very bright

  • hi, thanks for reply, my friend have 6000k on his truck and everything is baby blue including the road, the one that im looking for is like the stock 2007 and up cadillac escalade, the road looks ice white and the bulb is like white ice and cold blue, that's the color that i need

  • hi, I did some research & came up with this 5250K is the closest temp color 2 the sunlight the road appears super white

it's LED-like white temp color & this gonna makes 4300k looks a little yellow

in my personal opinion I like it blue just a little

actually Im installing 6000k HID conversion kit on my 98 eclipse gsx & gonna try to make a video demo from it

  • yeah that's what i heard about the 4300 is like yellow i think im going to go with the 5k. When u post the vid about ur HID let me know so i can see it and thank u so much for all ur help i really appreciate.

  • ok no problem

  • PS. just subscribe 2 my channel & you will b automatically informed as soon as I post it k

    glad to help you
