This edit still needs work. The idea of a short film is for it to feel short and tell a story. This is very slowly paced and says nothing. The speech patterns have gaps in them that can be much tighter, and variation of camera angles is sorely needed. The sound editing is really rough. 90% of film is sound. You should spend some more time with the audio mix. The song fades in and out too quickly in numerous spots and is almost more annoying than the rest of the problems with the film... almost
Hey, I know that guy, he used to work in my office, but I had to get rid of him...he was so obnoxious and annoying and stinky. My kids hated him, so I had to fire him! I loved seeing all my other actors though, especially Kate, she did a great job! Good effort on everyone's part - a bit silly, but hey I'm old, old school, what do I know? I just love the fact that you guys took the time to do it...that in itself says allot about all of you.....Clueless, yep that's Chuck!! Hee, hee, hee!
Chuck, this is great. I love how you use the questions of "why don't they fire him?" and "who would marry him?" to keep us watching. I loved the handheld camerawork in the party scene; it feels very immediate, a la "The Office". Great improv there, too. The story keeps moving forward nicely, but the editorial pace (especially in the beginning) could move faster. And some wireless mics would be great. But overall this is very entertaining and I really enjoyed it. Keep it up!
Chuck, i did enjoy the film. It has strong posibilities. Keep the girls and the heavy set guy. The guy is very funny with his deadpan humor. I think it's a great initial endeavor. Bloated with filler and a molasses pace. Think a 5 minute cut would be much stronger. The whole concept seems off - the guy isn't clueless, he's an asshole. Keep trying.
Very clever! This is a great first project. I can't wait to see more from you. Ten minutes is very hard to tell a complete story, but I feel it was one of the best pieces I have seen on YouTube! 900 hits that's amazing! Don't listen to the critics your on to something. Best wishes!
