  • Seems Obama's boys thought Health care bill was a done deal and would be passed by now. So their restrictions are already showing up, earlier than they had planned. Just another gaff from this imbecile Obama. He's almost as stupid as the idiot who posted this video.

  • You have no fucking clue what you're talking about. You only wish these were some kind of "restrictions" being implemented.

These are "guidelines," which aren't rules, but suggestions. The science says that Mammography has been over-sold, and that 8 times as many biopsies are performed than are necessary because breast tissue in women age 40 is still to dense for the test to be effective.

Not that you care, you'll bitch and moan about Obama tomorrow, just like you did yesterday.

  • How was Obama - or even the government - involved in developing these guidelines, hobo59?

  • The state of "journalism".

    News for morons.

  • why is wolf such a huge tool? what a waste of a good name

  • Prof of public health, a few books about rationing health care, risk/rewards of medical treatment. Seems like she has the background to claim herself an expert in this field.

You would think the fact that the guidelines for pap smears haven't changed since 1987 and that the ACS and other such groups support this study would be enough for some people.

And what if any power or influence do you have that would make your opinion more worthy then Prof Rothmans?

  • You bring only your opinion while "people like her" bring studies that take yrs to complete from specialist who deal with cancer everyday.

The recommendations in the study don't even seem all that scary to me. Starting at 21 and not just automatically getting screened every year but every three seems reasonable, unless you have some reason to reject the supporting stats.

This trend of arrogance of ignorance worries me

  • The guidelines lead to what medicare and private insurers will cover. For the poor, this means they won't get the tests, so it IS rationing.

Now, the rest of us are free to pay for it ourselves, but only the rich and the minority who really care about this will do it. So it is ALSO a subtle form of rationing for most of the rest of us as well.

Rationing is coming. It is inevitable, as long as the govt or 3rd party payers are involved.

  • 'A Lot of People' must be some technical term in journalism.

  • I think so, too. I think it's a technical term used to make any asinine, uninformed sound legitimate enough to be given broad exposure in the media.

It doesn't matter how stupid it is; if "a lot of people" think it, it's worth considering.

  • When the extreme finds its way into the mainstream.

  • wolf need a smear......no guidelines required

  • By the federal government suggesting women to do anything they've given breast cancer to every single woman on the planet. It's 100% Obama's fault too, her personally was found saying he wanted to give out more breast cancer for the economic boost it would produce, I saw it on the internet.

  • I love Wolf Blitzer! he rocks it. :-)

  • wolf blitzer is a loser.

  • "It's not rationing. It's just better for your health to put off getting a routine mammogram for 10 years."

  • you fucking people make me sick *cough*

they are giving 30+million people health care and its like they told everyone to go out and get Bar Codes tattooed on their foreheads. But the majority will bitch no matter wtf happens good or bad.

  • the majority arent bitching...thats the point.

Most of us want to know that we can be healthy when we are sick and that there is help for us when we may need it.

  • @ExoneratedUndead true. so very true. most of the american public is pathetic

  • TY someone who understands.

  • pussy smear

  • Conservatives live in a state of constant fear- it's hereditary.

  • I've said it for years, Conservative are concerned with what might happen. Progressives are concerned with what is happening.

  • Wolf Blitzer's a dusty old dumbass and CNN's been borrowing FAUX News talking points like "a lot of people are concerned".... "it been reported" bla bla bla.

  • The bigger question is... who in their right mind *doesn't* think they'll have to ration care? I mean honestly... do you guys think that? I mean I don't mind you want public health care, but don't be in denial. I thought you were people already accepted the inevitable. If not, boy, I feel sorry for you guys. Talk about an awakening lol.

  • For better or worse, healthcare is already rationed in every country in the world. It's just that in most countries it's rationed according to who needs it most urgently, and in the U.S. it's rationed according to who can most easily afford it. Whether they actually need it or not is a secondary question.

  • On "heals". Jesus christ...

  • Blitzer is a moron. This isn't rationing at all!

If the proposed health care reform is passed, there certainly will be rationing, but this isn't it.

  • Is Wolfie following Dobbsie into that legacy destroying yet career enhancing world of tabloid journalism?

CNN has to go back to what made them worth watching.

    News.

    Not opinion, news.

  • Yeah, a reccomendation from a private professional association called the American College of Obstetricians, which has nothing to do with Government "LOOKS like the start of Government-sponsorted RATIONING" to:

    A) a complete idiot who swallows whatever bullshit Glenn Beck and Matt Drudge spew out,

    B) A moron who gets his ass kicked by Andy Richter on Celebrity Jeopardy, or

    C) a tabloid journalist who cares more about ratings and sensationalism than truth.

    Which is Blitzer?

  • devil's advocate?

  • I doubt it. In the good old days the MSM took some responsibility for filtering out psychotic babble and political disinformation, and just reported real(istic) news. Cronkite covered the Moon landings, but you never saw him asking Armstrong if the whole thing was faked.

These days, to get ratings they feel they have to talk about "what everybody else is talking about" and various political groups make sure "everybody else" is talking about disinformation designed to damage the other side.

  • I thought a pap smear is to detect diseases of the vulva? Doesn't the gynecologist use a cotton swab or something on your vagina for DNA and studying? O.o When did a pap smear become related to breasts?

Maybe I just haven't heard much about pap smear's lately. Last time I read anything about them was god knows how many years. Of course, I'm a man, so it doesn't matter for me.

  • These new guidelines will be seized upon by private insurers. They are the big beneficiaries of these changes, not American women.

Few recognize that BOTH sides of the aisle, in their own ways, placate crony-capitalists. Obama has already cut deals with private insurers - that's public knowledge.

This is why the "health care reform" as passed by the House is so pathetic. The big winners, as always, will be power.

And to think anyone confuses Obama with a socialist! Laughable!

  • I'm just so tired of this bullshit where the republicans get to be "America" all the time and everyone else is "the government" or "unpatriotic" depending on whether the republicans are in or out of power.

I guess I have more respect for my country and our constitution than to constantly use it as a cheap tool of political propaganda.

  • To republicans it's all a game. They don;t care about America. I'm Canadian and I think your constitution is a guide to the whole world and I think your founding fathers were brilliant and also a guide for all.

  • Hey Wolf, go get your pap smear and stfu.

  • Wrong, Wolf has had his pap smear rationed. Damn you Obama.

  • Blitzer has to get an annual Pap smear done on his mouth.

  • Wolf Blitzer is a sad sack of shit. Thanks for spreading disinformation and fear you moron.

  • LMAO LOL sad sack of shit. I got to use that one.

  • Goddamn CNN is as dumb as Fox, "On heals" should be "On heels", unless they were trying to be funny which is even dumber for a Blitzer to try.

  • These are simply guidelines and nothing more.

  • I hope thaf "fair and balanced" FOX will report about this too...but I'm not counting on it. :)

  • Faux has been reporting these guidelines as examples of rationing. I haven't seen them report otherwise to date.
