I loved Wayland Flowers and Madame from the first time I saw them at Country Cousins restaurant in Fulham in the 1980s. That place is a great loss. It cost £6 for a (almost gross) 3 course meal but nobody went there for the food cos the cabaret was so good. We had Lorna Luft, Wayland flowers and Madame, Dolores Gray and so many others. In the audience were people like regulars Ronnie Corbet, Danny la Rue, Errol Brown. It was just fab!!
there is a new guy that is trying to bring back madame he is ok but there is only one guy that can bring madame to life and that was wayland flowers he was the one that made madame a star he was the best she was so real at times and with out wayland madame will never be as big as she once was ..RIP wayland you was one of the best puppeteers there ever was
I remember these two on Ed Sullivan...bringing back Madame would be like bring back Charlie cCarthy..it shouldn't be done...just enjoy what was...I love these two..
Wow...Wayland really brought Madame to life. I love watching her, she has so much personality and is absolutely funny as hell!!! I love it!!! I miss the one and only MADAME...such a skill to be a puppeteer..hahaha!
Waylon was amazing with Madame,,his arm,and hand coordination was truly incredible,( e.g taking her hair down)...he created such a personality with here, you even forget she was a puppet sometimes.
Solid Gold was a 80's music/dance show that gave weekly count downs to the musics top songs. You tube it. Depending on how old you are you'll either reminisce or think it's really bad 80's TV. Madame was a guest on the show throughout the years.
I used to own this as well, but it wore out. Do you know the name of it? I don't remember. Maybe if I knew the name I could find it here. I'll gather it in parts if I have to! That's how good it is. I was so disappointed when she said crazy mary was comin out then it cut off. What a tease.
Waylands vocal characterizations were amazing as well as Madams's coordination.

That's seven minutes and four seconds I'll never get back. Why the deceptive title?
