Also, thank for the introduction to new drummers. I love the drums! But, the passion is also the bass. You can play bass being cool...and make it sound so easy! I am also very passionate of the piano. I love the piano...something so passionate that goes directly to the bone! Pretty much, I have respect for all musicians, despite what people say. It's Art and I appreciate. Thank you, bean9seventy. Topr1der
I appreciate the added fav's part. Thank you, I'm glad you like. A long time ago when I was in the Navy. The people in the barracks used to keep me up at night with loud music. So, I invested in drums! At first, I sounded awful! But, 8 hr. weekends took care of that problem to the point I was offered gigs. But, really wasn't interested. Here's another video, will explain why?Dave Weckl And Walfredo Reyes, Drums And Percussion, Working It Out, Part 1 from youtube

The time signature is awesome. If, that don't kick your butt. I don't what will! I've jammed this song agains hip-hop while driving on the blvd. The people who were jamming the hip-hop, stopped their jam to hear the time signature (music stops, beat continues), givng the thumbs as they drove away...Nice feeling, Jazz is...."Mighty, Mighty Fine - Down to The Bone". TopR1der
i hear what your saying ,,so i added Simon Phillips to my fravs ,, the least i can do ,33/8 is crazy ,, i never herd of it,, i am licked right there ,, i hope that helps cool your mind , i know john abercrombie played some deep time signatures also ,,,,,, another drummer i saw years ago was Neil Conti ? he had double bass drum thing going when i saw him jam out one night ,,,,sounded like the world was coming to and end ]D,at any rate ,thanks for the comments man ,, great info and blagg
There was a kid in San Diego, CA that I knew, who gave me a disk which contains fruityloops. Never installed the software. But, down the road, I may check it out.
Here is anothoer odd time you might appreciate. Respect goes out for this guy. I also have reason to believe that he may have put Judas Priest on the Map, with their Sin after Sin album in 1977, His name is Simon Phillips. On youtube, you can check out the odd time signature which is 33/8. Please note: He plays left & right handed
yea ,, fruityloops and Reason can help you hear time signatures in almost any combination ,,i never knew this kat simon phillips ,, he is realy awsome ,damn the dude chops the skins ,, i checked out his history in music and he is right up there ,, i realy liked ,,tears for fears ,,sowing the seeds of love ,, simon phillips has played with all the kats and big rock bands sitting in for keith moon and everything ,, 33/ 8 is crazy i never ever herd that ,,and he makes it sound smooth ,,,
7/4 anyone? Here's a couple of odd time songs, I'm pretty sure, you would appreciate. Kazumi Watanabe - Hiper K, Fu bu ki, Concrete cow; Also, some serious smooth jazz from Peter Horvath - The view, This sideup, Something new! These songs can be found on youtube.com. These are the styles I play with my drums along with the Bass Lines. Also, I appreciate all your videos. Keep them coming...Topr1der
7/4 ,, 11/8 i even herd 10/ 9 ,,, fruityloops can do those time beats reason too ,,,it can sound realy like house if you jack along in 4/4 against those beats , and anolog ,,i guess the jazz guys dont bother with making the signature soft ,, i recal john abercombie ,, he does a few tracks out side of 4/4 ,, denis chambers ,,??
There is another song more precision. It's called Voyage - Kazumi Watanabe. It is a very rare song. But, I'm pretty sure you will appreciate it! I tried looking it up on youtube, with negative results. But, I have the song. Let's put this way. When my friend and I first heard it. We were in awe...If you like Omar Hakim. This is the song to check out!
,,i checked out Kazumi Watanabe - Unt (1987).mp4,tho ,, sounded like a john schofield trip ,,great player and groove , there was still loads unexpected breaks and chords back then ,,,,,,,the other kat dont features on my map ,,
Again, thank you for your resopnse. Henry Thomas sounds reminds of Frank Marino & Mahogany Rush - Requim of Sinner, or Purple Haze, etc., blue's type influence. Unfortunately, they were both underated. But, the style and accomplishmets could truely be appreciated by people like yourself and other's who exploring different sounds, and talents. Topr1der
Also, on a side note: Bootsy Collins from Parliament put it real nicely! Try not to copy the same as the original music. Play how you feel...You always play the first note, which is the original. Everything in the middle is you...That's how I play; I try to create my own signature. The sound is different every time and the music doesn't get boring. Topr1der
yea,, bootsy william collins ,,playing on the one,,the famos video of him explaining his theory,,was made for a british tv show called rock school in the early 80s ,,,,,,,,what ever happened to Henry Thomas ,,?? he was the britsh bass player/ presenter in the same show,,,
First, it's an honor and a privilege to hear from you. Thank you for your response! Here is another jam from Lenny White & Twentynine - Rythm and Movin On. Also, there is Aurora - Are you Single - Excellent bass lines. These songs are found on youtube. Let me know what you think and I hope you like. Topr1der
There is the group call Down To The Bone - Jazz/Fusion,. Check out the Zodiac. This the style they play. What it is interesting is the signature. The beat keeps going as the music stops! It's style I group up with in the 60's and thought it was lost. This groove your playing is spot on....But, do check them out! Topr1der
thanks for the information ,,,i checked out " Down to the bone" they sound real good ,, i think the main sax player is pretty awsome ,,,, i herd from a top classical player ,, that ,,one could live two life times and never get enough of music,, or learn everything ,,,,, clealy i would like to play all levels and stages in music ,, perhaps some 60s also ,,
@bean9seventy love the playing and acid jazz grooves, any chance of a stab at Incognitos 'Still A Friend Of Mine' ? I would love to hear it if you can find the time. cheers man
thanks for lending me your cool bass last night . made my night ... hope you got some golden virginia or whatever with my small gesture of 15 quid ... nice playing on this track , you have this music down , you sound great so keep doing it and get your own single out . cheers , mike x
Ah man! Thanks. Now I remember why I connected that's great music. The emotions that show that you enjoy what you are doing are as important as knowing what you are doing. I Think.
