Walt: You have forgotten who you are, and so forgotten me. Look inside yourself, Disney. You are more than what you have become. You must take your place as the Beacon in Life. Remember who you are. You are my child, and the one true King of Film.
when the lion king came out with their special edition in 2005, they had spoken how when James Earl Jones did this part in the voice how they made his voice sound the way it did was they surrounded a bunch of microphones around his head to create that ghostly effect. Interesting, I thought.
Children: You have forgotten who you are and so forgotten us.. Look inside yourself, Disney. You are more than what you have become. You must take your place as our Guide through life...
Disney: How can I go back? I'm not what I used to be..
Children: Remember who you are.. You have brought us so many affecting movies in the past.. You are the one true maker of Movies.
I can't help but imagine Walt's ghost when I watch this scene...
"Disney, you have forgotten me. You have forgotten who you are, and so forgotten me and my work. Look inside yourself. You are more than what you have become. You must return to your place in the world of entertainment. Remember who you are. You are my legacy, and the one true master of masterpieces that last forever. Remember...who you are."
Disney is a lioness, trapped in a world of ravenous, idiotic Beiber/Montana fans, led by a money-mad tyrant who cares for financial gain above doing the right thing.
What Disney needs is a Simba. Someone who was raised by the life-lessons in these films. Someone who remembers their home and runs back to save it before it's too late.
Disney, you have forgotten us. You have forgotten who you are and so have forgotten us. Look inside yourself, Disney. You are more than what you have become. Remember who you are.
@Pearlshire19 that's an understatement, there is no single group or individual to blame aside from the demographics and the trends of the times, they haven't forgotten us, more like they don't see the money pandering modern generation actually having brains enough to want effort in works these days so they feed them the crap they love and leave us hating that crowd more and more, disney is no longer a god amonst animated studios they are now a media hogging giant with no passion and love of art
DAMN this is my favorite disney movie of all time. Although I was kind of ticked off when playing KH2 that they didn't use this entire scene. Nor did they follow it with the musical score for this scene. The music in Lion King is part of what makes its scenes so damn powerful.
''you see? he lives.. in you.'' that's probably gonna be the thing I'm gonna remember after my father dies someday. That quote feels strong even though my father is alive, but when he dies, I will probably ball out.
Such a powerful scene! I can't remember if I cried 17 years ago when I first saw it (also at the cinema), but today again in the cinema and in 3D it almost did the trick, hahaha...
Thumps up to Mr. James Earl Jones, the voice that will down in history for creating such intense moments as this!
Mufasa in this scene sounds like what God would sound like. James Earl Jones is the best actor and voiced the best character in disney in my opinion. The Lion King the the best movie hands down!
What is the backing track to this? It's beautiful!
