when the lion king came out with their special edition in 2005, they had spoken how when James Earl Jones did this part in the voice how they made his voice sound the way it did was they surrounded a bunch of microphones around his head to create that ghostly effect. Interesting, I thought.

DAMN this is my favorite disney movie of all time. Although I was kind of ticked off when playing KH2 that they didn't use this entire scene. Nor did they follow it with the musical score for this scene. The music in Lion King is part of what makes its scenes so damn powerful.
