Most people who are against the war on drugs will tell you that hard drugs should be DECRIMINALIZED, not LEGALIZED, so that users can get state treatment and not fear the police, while the government can still go after distribution channels and smugglers. educate yourself before you talk
i fully agree that junkies shouldnt be locked up, but there is treatment available, and most addicts choose not to use it. meth destroys lives and is near impossible to kick, decriminalizing it would create more users, and there would be just as little percentage who choose to enter treatment.
All dethbiker's trying to say is that since drug use is treated as a criminal problem rather than a medical problem many people don't get the help they need. It's a scandal that our government can just throw an addict in jail, how is that supposed to help anyone? They're sick! The only way to solve our drug problem is to empower people to make informed decisions, the "war" approach is immoral and it doesn't even work. but the truth of the matter , true friends wont leave you behind nor will they leave you astray. they deny a problem when they are young then when they reach adulthood they are suffering, they get their kids taken away, they loose their sanity and their job and live as a bum on the street. what kind of life is that for anybody? just for a few thrills they are willing to loose their life?and they wander why life is so bad for them??

nobody who uses drugs believes their lives are gonna go to utter shit for a few thrills, most people who get addicted to drugs live fine and eventually get clean, well at least all the ones i know in Australia

thats true, they dont think of the long term effects, but why start when you have the power to say no? im 22 and im proud to say ive never drank, never smoked or use any drugs whatso ever and it had nothing to do with my parents, i saw what it did to the person i loved, it killed him. it wasnt meth that killed him but it was tobacco, i will never fall under any drugs, its not worth it.

thats actually really impressive, good on you most people at least try alcohol which personally i consider one of the worst drugs, keep at it if you don't think drugs are worth doing then at the very least you'll be saving alot of money. I'm pretty much the complete opposite 17 years old and tried around 25 chemicals, but i'm not addicted to anything , i'm going to university in a month and really like the way drugs have changed my general perception of life

This is more of a product of societies overeaction to drugs than it is the drug itself. I would rather my friends sped off than be arrested and sent to jail for enjoying themselves because I took a hit too far.

If only these PSA's were nationwide. I've never seen anti-drug commercials that were this scary. I'm a recovering heroin addict, so I always thought I was pretty jaded.. but when I saw these, they scared the living shit out of me.

I wont do meth...this really made it clear on how terrible drugs can change you.I was only told that drugs would get me arrested,and such,but I wasnt told about how terrible it could be with meth.

Also, theres a difference between decriminalizing and legalizing, legalization is total deregulation, decriminalization seeks to regulate rather than turn anything to a crime that you can be jailed for. Most people who are against the war on drugs will tell you that hard drugs should be DECRIMINALIZED, not LEGALIZED, so that users can get state treatment and not fear the police, while the government can still go after distribution channels and smugglers. educate yourself before you talk

i fully agree that junkies shouldnt be locked up, but there is treatment available, and most addicts choose not to use it. meth destroys lives and is near impossible to kick, decriminalizing it would create more users, and there would be just as little percentage who choose to enter treatment.

All dethbiker's trying to say is that since drug use is treated as a criminal problem rather than a medical problem many people don't get the help they need. It's a scandal that our government can just throw an addict in jail, how is that supposed to help anyone? They're sick! The only way to solve our drug problem is to empower people to make informed decisions, the "war" approach is immoral and it doesn't even work. I think this campaign is great, it shows consequences, not Nancy Reagan tripe
