  • WHAT A RUSH

  • This isn't a solo.... this is a song!

  • No effort whatsoever from Neil XD

  • Gotta love the fact that @ :40 in the solo, he still incorporates "Pieces of Eight" from the mid 80's into the solo. His solos take pieces from his entire career and incorpoarte them into the solo....truly a master musician

  • Amazing!!! Love it!!

  • Canadian Pride. pretty sure i saw a cup of Tim Horton's by his feet haha.

  • A 24-27 irrational rythem over 3/4.....goddamn thats hard shit.

  • 29 people are either jealous... or have no clue to what "talent" is

  • @tHePyRoZoMbIe69 absolutely

  • hahaha.....im sory to say but justin beiber is a fucking shit apple compared to shit....he isnt the worst but he is a verry gay and bad drummer...he only knows like 2 or 3 beats that he has to think verry hard about when doing them

  • @POPCORN454545 Sometimes I get apeshit of what is happening in pop music. Justin Bieber is a home schooled brat raised to be a star. What I cannot figure out is this: almost 17 years old and he still hasn't hit the 'hair' age yet. Me thinks female hormones are to blame. I am jealous of him. He has hair on his head. I do not

Oh, were you commenting on the drums?

  • @themooddisorders xDDDDD :D correct my good sir

  • lets start a Neil peart religion!

    Who's coming with me?

  • @grindstix1 He's taken way more shit in his life than Jesus did.

  • i want a drummer like this for my band!!

  • For the guys arguing over a death metal drummer and joey who is trained as a jazz drummer but can play multiple styles.

What's the point in arguing, I love joey.

But he isn't the best, fair enough he's been voted Rhythm's best drummer for the last 25 years, which is great.

But seriously no one should be compared to anyone. Maybe in bands, because when you play in a band your influences tend to show more.

But seriously no point arguing. My all time favourite drummer is Dave Lombardo but I don't

  • Washer and Dryer in background! :D

  • best drummer ever

  • Twenty nine people obviously don't know good drumming technique.

  • Great artist

  • imagine Eddie Van Halen and Niel Peart in a solo together!

  • Simply amazing ....... !!!

  • They don't call him the Professor for nothing

  • in-fucking-credible

  • I think he is the best drummer in the world youcan ague with me but i dont really care !!

  • why do people feel the need to compare people that are completely irrelevant. honestly. The rev and Peart play different styles. So do Buddy rich and George Kollias. If your going to compare at least have them in the same genre. Kollias, inferno and Roddy or Krupa and rich. Something. Drumming is an art form yet nobody compares the works of Michelangelo to Salvador Dali. Or John Grisham and Shakespeare. Because their different styles. It isn't about who's better. Dumbasses.

  • @6mini6ulrich6

you can compare technical talent between genres easily, you just cant compare the particular song say jazz and metal those cant be compared but the guitarists from either jazz or metal band can be judged on talent and compared

  • @maggot1111666 all I'm saying is that certain genres have different standards. Jazz within itself is typically much more intricate than say rock or blues. But that doesn't mean that rock and blues drummers can't do jazzier stuff. If that makes sense. They don't demonstrate their aptitude in different styles as often and therefore we cannot fairly dictate between who's "better". The point is people shouldn't be compared like pumpkins or card collections.

  • @6mini6ulrich6

i see what you are saying, but i don't agree. Jazz has no more intricate stuff then any other genre,

  • @maggot1111666 I'm defining it as say progressive metal or rock such as Rush and Dream Theater are already more intricate than say AC/DC or Metallica or the blues brothers. But since you only hear them playing a certain way for their specific brand of music, you never hear their capability in another field. Idk. I appreciate that you weren't just a douche and started mouthing off.

  • @6mini6ulrich6

i see what your saying now, but neil peart has as songs that are very metal going back to first comment look up anthem by rush there is a drum fill somewhere in the last thirty seconds that is very metal, not a lot of people know about it but thats the only metal ive heard him play and there is screaming by geddy earlier in the song too, its great you should listen

  • @maggot1111666 lol. I know Rush. When I say metal I mean just raw speed and power. Speeds Neil can't do.

  • @6mini6ulrich6

neil is soo fast are you kidding me much faster then the rev the only faster is joey jordison. neil is the best ever

  • @maggot1111666 Neil isn't that fast. He can't do 290-310 bpm with his feet. Roddy or Kollias can. Both kick the fuck out of Jordison

  • @6mini6ulrich6

foot petals no hands yes i was talking hands btw and roddy being faster then joey is debatable from the vidz i have seen

  • @maggot1111666 because of things like gravityblasting they are faster on hands too. And Joey can't compare when you get down to the bare basics of it. Joey with both feet isn't nearly as fast as Roddy.

  • @6mini6ulrich6

needless to say, there has never been a drummer and i would be willing to bet there never will be a drummer capable of playing this entire solo, accept neil peart himself

  • @maggot1111666 Solos are unique. If people covered solos what fun would soloing be? What would be the point. And what about Jojo Mayer? Jojo is a fucking beast. Or Danny Carey, or (list of gods)?

  • he's crazy

  • He uses every single piece of that drum kit in his solos.

  • I want this solo to be the last thing that i see before i die. Dammm hes so good

  • neil peart toca muito e pra mim eh um dos melhores bateras do mundo junto com o carinha do Led Zeppelin (q eu esqueci o nome dele agora) e tbm o Joey Jorison do Slipknot, todos esses 3 sao fodas.

  • I can't tell you guys how proud of the youtube community for not comparing neil peart to a certain dead pussy. (the rev)

  • Neil Peart

the one and only known zen master jedi ninja

stabbed chuck norris in the eye with a roundhouse drumstick

felled sho kosugi with the infamous 'shadow stick'

pulped jet li from the horse stance with the triple-high-hat-to-thousand-feet-step-on-toe-of-doom

made from the only known substance other than kryptonite to defeat superman: peartonite

    trains underwater without oxygen tanks

his greatest drum set is in the himalayas on the highest peak

god... quit when neil was born

  • My friend told me that this guy named adam gray is the best drummer ever. I made him watch this and his head exploded.

  • @itsJoanfuckingJett LMFAO at both your comment and your username!

  • 29 "i don't likee????"...O_o....

  • he could do just a bell solo and it would be awsome

  • I love Neil Peat but, John Bonham was better...Neil Peart would agree. I

  • @beardigady no way! he'd only agree cuz he is modest

  • Pokerface :D

  • and thats why neil pert is the number one drummer

  • 6:44 to 7:00 are epic crossovers

  • MASTER!!!

  • the very best!!!!!!! yeaaaaa!!!!!!!!

  • i can do from 0:43 to 1:29

  • i've had this on my ipod for about 4 years now. seeing the video is unbeliveable. (jizzes pants and passes out)

  • @ajb337 dude how do you get this on your ipod, i have a ipod touch can you help

  • @space7851 um you can just copy the link and go to savevid.com and paste the link in the space thing and then enter and then a bunch of formats will show up and pick the one that says ipod.

  • id say bonham and peart are pretty even, but Zep should hire this guy. he is currently the greatest alive.

  • @ZOSOrulz1 Theyre not equal, compare and you will see how Peart is better by a considerable margin NOT saying bonham was bad, maybe a little overrated but still Neil Peart is better.

  • @ZOSOrulz1 Pfft, Plant can't sing anymore...not as good as he could anyway...

  • @HerbredMadness no one cares if he cant sing as good anymore. he's Robert Plant. when Zep got together on 2007 2 million people went ape shit trying to get 12000(?) tickets. the website they were selling them on crashed i heard.

  • @ZOSOrulz1 Hmm...true...true...I'd pay a lot to be able to go to a Zep concert, even if it wouldn't be the same...

  • @HerbredMadness if he can do this he can do Moby Dick. he just needs to grow a mustache and hair, then no one would care if it was any different

  • @ZOSOrulz1 He has hair. it just is under that hat.

  • id say bonham and peart are pretty even

  • i didn't know jesus played the drum set too

  • @benyaminbahri Joey Jordison is from slipknot, he is good, barker is from blink 182, but hes way to overrated, for good drummers, check Lars Ulrich or Dave Lombardo, but Peart is the best drummer around.

  • when i´ve got this drumset i can play it^^

  • I can play the first 10 seconds....lol

  • @pressman95 wow you must be pretty good lol

  • @pressman95 i can play the whole thing. except the 2nd malletkat thing. and all cowbell stuff

  • @pressman95 lol

  • just went from six to midnight ;)

  • best drum solo that i´ve seen

  • This need more cowbell....lol

  • What can you say he is on another level.....Awesome!!

  • HOLY shit.

His drum kit spins around when he needs a different set of it?

    holy SHIT.

  • I'm so tired of this guy. Same shit over and over. The forefront of drumming has long passed this guy by.

  • @sunshine9742 neil peart never gets old

  • @sunshine9742 ......Let us know when you can play half of this....Neil has been around.... but he can hang with whom ever.

  • Why are there washing mashines?

  • @JimiPain I asked the sam, but they are dryers. They throw out shirts after the concert from what I was told.

  • both of you go to your rooms!!!

  • neil peart ist der beste ficken schlagzeuger.... JE!!!!!!!

  • 4:25 - That traditional grip just made my ears blow up.

  • pfft, i did that in my sleep twice the tempo with one arm...

  • LOL, dREHER0009.

Neal is the reason I have taken up drums at 51.

  • Anyone think he looks a bit like Tom Hanks?

  • @redcthulhu i was thinking junos dad

  • Ditto that for "thedriveforfive"

Were you ever able to see John "Bonzo" Bonham LIVE? Not a video...LIVE! He is one of the best Rock drummers to date. Just to play a complete set of Led Zeppelin songs requires almost supernatural abilities of various types. Concerts lasting over 3 hours...

Led Zeppelin could not continue w/o John. And they had their choice of some of the most Premiere drummers in the world. They knew in their hearts "NO ONE" could fill his shoes...Words unspoken my friend.

  • And people dare call him overrated? Look at john bonham, then youll see overrated.

  • @MrMadpenguin uh no hes not overrated at all. john bonham is actually one of neils influences

  • @boricuakid29 Still, Neil Peart is so much better than bonham that bonham even sounds really bad in camparison.

  • @MrMadpenguin uh no. he is good

  • I feel bad for those drum sticks lol

  • This is theme song for when I go into battle.

  • @1941DesertFox hahaha

  • No disrespect to Mr Peart...all these Cats added something to the ART...

Joe Morello's - "Castilian Drums" Carnegie Hall 1963. Is one of the best LIVE drums solos to date. There are things in there "every drummer" could learn from. And I'm certain many drummers have taken ideas from that solo. And better yet it was done on a four piece Krupa kit. I wonder what some of these drummers would do w/o a kit that takes 10 hours to set up? Check out Sonny Payne also... and this isn't SPAM...

  • his own heartbeat is his metronome.

  • He is definitely better than Bonzo. Period.

  • neil pert is the best plain and simple

  • my grandma can play the doble bass more fast than this guy xD

  • @sliprok100 spoken like someone who is a drummer not a percussionist

  • @sliprok100 umm pretty sure he wasnt goin for speed u dumb ass...yea i like hardcore music with fast doublebass too, but this isnt joey wer talkin' about here. neil isnt trying to just double bass spam...

  • @pwner19 let me ask you something skate boy of shit are you drummer?

  • @sliprok100 yes i am

  • fantastic technichan, no doubt, john bonham better? yes. that sir is a fact x

  • Comment removed

  • I vote Neil Peart over chuck norris

  • not a drummer ever to live thay could play this, its not even close between anyone, neil is the best by far

  • The only true percussionist. Simply stunning.

  • Chuck Norris can play that with one arm

  • Comment removed

  • There is no drummer hall of fame... there is only a NEIL PEART SHRINE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • all his foot pedalsthat make all other instraments is awsome

  • neil peart=drum hall of famer

  • His solos are like songs. They have several different transitions and parts. And I completely agree with Trouble2nite...he is a master. I have a poster behind my drums with Neil on it and the caption says "Every Expert Was Once A Beginner". Good thing to remember.

Oh, and try doing a waltz beat with your feet while your hands are doing all of that other stuff. WOW!

  • His solos are like songs. They have several different transitions and parts. And I completely agree with Trouble2nite...he is a master. I have a poster behind my drums with Neil on it and the caption says "Every Expert Was Once A Beginner". Good thing to remember.

  • Master of his craft.

  • Best part was the African rhythms.

  • whats with the rubber boots???

  • Lost all interest after the first 2 minutes... tht was a fkn sick 2 mins thow

  • @declan1212 your missing the best part

  • @declan1212 it has to be kept interesting. otherwise its boring.

  • It's very good, but gets old after about 6 minutes.

  • Holy Crap! He even has, like, a chinese gong in there! FUCK!

  • i would hate to be his drum technician.. setting his kit up and taking it down.. every show.. hahaha

  • @KiidEsii Probably takes a separate crew just for the drums

  • @KiidEsii Each drum has a labeled slot though for each part so it makes it a bit easier to set up and what not.

  • Neil Peart's Solos are absolutely just a work of art

  • First of all, respect for Neil Peart.

This is a very nice solo, but why the hell do people call him 'the best drummer of all time' and 'the best drumsolo ever' etc etc...?? He's by far not the best drummer of all time. He's good, very good, but nothing more than that...

  • @FuzyEnterprise people say he is the best because the people who say that have an appreciation for the amount of talent, skill, and practice it takes to attain his level of playing.

The best of all time is subjective. However, you would be hard pressed to find better alive today. No one has been or is better than Buddy Rich. Peart and Weckl are as close as any alive today.

  • @gkoutsourais In some cases, Neil is Better then Buddy. Neil has more creative and musical solos and is somewhat better then Buddy as a overall musician. And Buddy's solos were mostly speed based.

Either way I love both of them

  • wow.. this is deadset the best thing ive ever heard :D

  • Thumbs up if you thought 7:01 was the beginning of a wild Pokemon battle.

  • I can't believe someone (GlitchHalo) actually said that Neil 's solos are a "bit too conventional" and that he doesn't do "anything new". LOL!! He's the most UNconventional rock drummer in history. He even wears dancing shoes when he performs.

  • Neil Peart vs. Chuck Norris?? Humm...? Who win?

  • That really inspired me. Think I'll go dig my kit out of the attic and try that tonight.

  • damn hes not fucking human.the best drummer ive ever seen everyone else besides buddy rich, louie bellson

  • Touching Neil Peart's drum kit cures cancer.

  • @dREHER0009 agreed

  • Neil Peart is great, but I find him a bit too conventional. He doesn't do anything new...

  • @GlitchHalo he is the professor. Neil was born with a drumstick in one hand and success in the other, never doubt him.

  • more cow bell!!!

  • i was up staying up late and i needed to get my mind going so i thought why not have a little play time with my penis but i couldnt since my friends was with me so i watched this video instead

  • those drums are blessed.. theyve been beaten by an angel

  • The man has spoken...

  • He's prolly strong as hell.

  • and to think people say that joey jordinson is the best drummer in the world

  • Sounds like Kim Williams back in the day....

  • @balerinaauzicka

you know 8% of you words were mis-spelt.

  • i will say he does go off beat but he does it wonderfully and besides that the rest of it is beautiful

    .He is a god

  • @jfgjdjhdfhdfhrhd No I dont think he misses one beat. Neil's like the master at always being right on time...

  • @jfgjdjhdfhdfhrhd he means to do it at one point

  • It's very easy for me to question the musical taste or musical knowledge of anyone that would refer to Neal Peart as overrated...I consider this drum solo to be nothing less than a masterpiece...so fuck off you Rush hater...

  • @knowledge411 He is DEFINETELY not overrated, he is better than anyone in the business, you want a really overrated drummer, check out travis barker or john bonham.

  • @jbonham78 who pissed in your cheerios?

  • @jbonham78 No he isn't. He's really that amazing. Just for saying that, may the flies of 1000 camels infest your crotch, and may your arms be too short to scratch.

  • @jbonham78 go to hell you duchebag

  • @jbonham78 More like underrated if you post this comment here

  • @jbonham78 you know ,the drumming ability is 50% of what you can realy do, and 50% of what other people think that you can do. repect to neil.

  • orgasm

  • Watched this 3 times today :/

  • he is very gooooooood :)I want to be able to play like that
