My friend has this laptop, and let me tell ya, It is overheating even at typing in word, or watching youtube. My fingers were about to melt everytime I touched the bottom of the laptop.

On the overheating: very true, it was the AMD Processor runs so hot it burns out the wifi card and de-solders the processor from the mother board. the new hp tablet series however is using the Intel core i3,i5 and i7 series processors which solve the over heating problem.

essentially anything bad that could happen with a laptop did with mine. For starters, the touch screen was pretty unresponsive. when using the screen to take notes several strokes would be missed, and sometimes would show up on randomly places on the screen for no aparent reason. Mine was running windows vista, and it couldn't handle it. The computer was slow from the moment i opened the box. Also its very hot, I literally burned myself on the corner once just from nomral use..

@nimrod814 Perhaps my TX2 was an upgraded model, but it ran beautifully for me. 4 gigs of RAM with a 2.1 GGZ processor and Windows 7, not bad spec's for when it was released. My only two complains is its poor durability, and even worse cooling. Apart from that though the RAM and CPU could handle a tough load. Not a gaming machine though.

oh, so its not enough that i have to spend $499 on buying one now, I have to wait for the second gen and buy it again to get something simple as a camera. It cant multi-task, so whats the point in buying it. So every time you wanna research something when you are writing a report or something, you have to close ans reopen iWorks and the browser. It can run apps? Big deal? With something like the upcoming HP Slate, I can actually run full fledged programs and MULTI-TASK!!!!!!!!!!

1: multi tasking comes to iPad officially in autumn but you can have it now if you jailbreak.

3: the iPad is everything i need when i'm not at home…for..everything…taking notes at school, checking my email, browsing..it is much better than any laptop because it is very light and the battery lasts a lot…

This one does. I use it for all my photo-shop and video editing, which can be pretty taxing on most processors. It's only lagged on me once before, and that was when I accidentally blew a picture in photo-shop up about a hundred times its original size. HP computers usually are pretty high quality, but you need to spend at least $600+ into one for results. I think this tablet's now sold for $800, which isn't bad for a tablet.

hand and stylus is the last thing you want on a tablet pc. When you write with a pen you rest your hand on the paper. if you do that on a hand and stylus tablet pc you end up with a random scrawl as the pointer bounces back and forth between your hand and the stylus.

Well I prefer the TX2 since its cheaper and more affordable and has better specs except for hard drive. The TX2 no longer overheats like everyone keeps saying that is untrue only the 1000 series over heats. Besides TX2 is more stable then the TX2000/1000. So in a newer model they'll probably make better models with better processors from 2010. The TX2 is built better every new series. And feels less cheaper and much faster.

Dude, get a tx2500z or a Touchsmart Tx2 it may cost a little bit more, but with much better specs. You'll be thoroughly disappointed in the tx2000. You can get a Tx2 for around 800USD using coupons and such.

Battery life with the small, slim battery pack is about 1-1.5 hours. My tx2000 came with larger 6-cell battery that gives about 3-3.5 hours.

As far as I'm aware, Windows Xp doesn't come with touch screen software. Support for touch screen (I think Microsoft called it tablet) is only available as a separate product.

i bought the tx 2110 too and its a perfect size, it doesnt feel small at all, the only downside is it can get a bit hot with the amd processor and its a bit heavy for 4.5 pounds, but im extremely happy with my purchase. the screen size is perfect, its like writing on a piece of paper... but better.

You can find a much faster more capable laptop for half the price. The touchscreen is a bit gimmicky and the battery is shit.
