  • My dad knows this song also. "I could be good for you"

  • Anyone remember going to the Starwood in West Hollywood and seeing these guys

  • i fell in love with 707 about twenty years ago.I don't understand the rhetoric. The lyrics are great and so is the sound. Given today's standards of new music and the bands that come out, their is really nothing to bitch about. I Love 707.

  • this is an awesome..kick ass song..they rock...i love the words and sound....thanks for posting...i love it....

  • 707 was the horrible opening band that opened for REO Speedwagon on the tour in 1981 when they were a hot ticket and had a number one album.

They would have done far better to rotate acts with Brian Adams (big in Canaca), Loverboy (startinting to break out) or harder acts like Riot.

Many people blew off 707 aftr a few minutes, they just were'nt that good. The girld and the guys wanted to see REO.

  • The fall of 1980. Detroit. WLLZ, Detroit's New Wheels. 707 was a signature cut...on the Rockin' Best!

  • @areubaked I remember that well z-rock or the wrif was'nt playing anything that on the radio at the time I lived in Roseville mi back in the day

  • Definitely a K-SHE classic!

  • Kick ass song from the 80's they do not write song's like these anymore!!!!!

  • @keeneglass Yup! Greg Kihn was truly a prophet there!

  • Another KSHE Classic St Louis

  • Wow!!!!!! Have not heard this in ages, I tried to describe this to DJs over the years and they had no idea who or what I was talking about.

  • @hickorydickoryduck That's because the DJs at today's radio stations know absolutely NOTHING about music! You can mostly thank the illegal monopoly known as Clear Channel for that.

  • @russianimp1 I wouldn't be surprised if the DJ's at many stations are actually in Mumbai.

  • KEWL TUNE! ;o)

  • 707 rocks took a long time to find but nice f@ckn find

  • Thanks stlblair for a great song

  • Great song, havn't heard it in years..brings back memories

  • LOVE IT!

  • Wow not since 1981 have I heard that...thanks

  • Kevin Russell rocked then and he still rocks today.

  • R+R Hall of fame? This is the only song from them that got airplay, how do you figure?

  • yeah 707

  • This is an awesome song from back in the day! After hearing it again they remind me of a cross between ToTo, Triumph and Alan Parsons! What a combination?

  • Great Song this song was one of the gem's from the past!!!!!

  • Good Times, Brothers!

  • I haven't heard this in years!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • very underated group ! should be in R & R hall of fame with so many other overlooked bands - maybe someday soon -

  • Wow. Great post. These guys blew thru my college town back in the day. They kicked assss live. And I have to agree with a couple previous comments. "Megaforce" killed them.

  • Great song from the early eighties, played this in my band "Blackwood:" here in Buffalo, NY for quite a while.

  • God this brings back memories......

  • @TheDespotic1 DITTO!

  • Someone needs to remake this song.. this song rocks

  • Fall of 1980 and the cool kid of the 10th floor (a sophomore) in the dorms of a college in Massachusetts takes a scared & skinny freshman nerd under his wing...road trips, work outs, study sessions and tons of mischief. The two become partners in crime, lifelong friends and remain that way until this very day. This was their theme song.

  • WOW! I Never thought i'd hear this song again. I was in a touring cover band called "WOLF" We played this song every night in Rock Clubs throughout the States from 1984 to1990. Very cool song.

  • I remenber back in high school drivers ed 1981 playing this song. There was a new station in Jackson MI Q106 and they played it along with all the good Michigan rock, Bob Seger, Ted Nugget, Ramonnes. They kindda blew it with Mega Force, song was good movie sucked!

  • @goofygoat2009 You betcha! I can't stand that faggot!

  • This song and April Wine's 'Sign of Gypsy Queen' made my day good back then.

  • WLLZ !!! We could call in before they had DJ's , there was no talking just at the top of every hour "WLLZ Detroit" I went to school in Plymouth with Kevin Russel's younger brother Brad. Songs like this are still timeless!

  • Man, there is nothing like Youtube...like being in a time machine!

  • reminds me of high school.

  • this song is awesome,i love it.

  • August 1980...Detroit...putting a new rock radio station on the air - WLLZ-FM, "Detroit's New Wheels." This 707 cut was right there in the middle of it all, 30 years ago yesterday...

  • I remember going to see this band at least 10 times in the late 70's or early 80's in LA usually at The Starwood. Thank you for posting..... a great band alot of great memories!!!

  • Yea, all time favs! Still sounds just as good!

  • I learned of this song back in the early 90s, when I lived in the Minneapolis/St. Paul suburbs. KQRS, the big classic rock station up there, played it on their tertiary list at least a couple times a week. I called the DJ to learn what this song was and who it was by. I then ran out and got 707's greatest hits CD and for the most part, their songs are all great. It's a shame this band didn't get more fame back in the day. With this song alone, they really deserved it!

  • Wow..this was my first concert w/REO. Awesome...a lot of people haven't even heard of them!! They rock!! ;) Thanks!

  • It's a killer one hit wonder, thanks for posting.

  • mr stinky bum can be good for you

  • This song came out on their debut album entitled " 707 " back in 1980. During the 1980 concert tour they were the warmup band for the headline act ... REO Speedwagon. I still remember that night at Jos. Louis Arena in Detroit which was 707's home town.

  • kblopp ... this came out in 1980 .. it was on 707's debut album and was their # 1 single. I had the opporunity to see them a couple times in concert as I am near Detroit, Michigan which was the bands home town. During the 1980 concert tour ... they were the warmup band for REO Speedwagon

  • Awesome Song, Hasn't gotten the recognition it deserves ! ! !

  • thanks for the flash back....damn!!!!!!!!!

  • Does anybody know what year this album came out.

  • @kblopp I want to say 1980 81 or 82.

  • Classic

  • In the autumn of 1980 the big man on campus at a college in N England takes the new kid under his wing...and starts a 30 year friendship.

This was the song that they'd heard on the boom box while working out in the school's weight room...when hanging around the dorms or when they were out in the city of Boston...tearing that town apart one brick at a time...

Partners in crime until the bitter end.

(Btw, I really do mean crime.)

  • LOVE IT! ....

  • One of my favorite AOR bands. These guys should have went a lot further.

  • Great old tune. Certainly brings back some memories. When I think about it I am surprised that the cover band I was playing with at that time period didn't do this one. Again, a great tune!!

  • I always loved this song. Great drums and guitar solo. Nice driving beat and vocals. All around awesome song a lot of people don't know even exists. Too bad, this song could be good for you.

  • One of my "long time ago" favorites!!! Thanks!
