  • @THINLIZZYFANno1 And the double bass came from the need for something to replace percussion in an orchestra.

  • @ppetracco The lever thing is a whammy bar. Its normally on electric guitars, but this guy put one on his keyboard.

  • Freaking awesome! What's with the lever thing?!?!

  • A bass is not a guitar! The guitar is an instrument that evolved from the lute while the bass evolved from the double bass, the bass guitar is simply an adaptation to make it as portable as the guitar.

  • Really nice!

  • Either my mom laced my tater tots with hallucinogens, or I saw a bass guitar.

  • amazing

  • motherfuck i want that keyboard

  • rifadisimo la de war pigs

  • Technology can't mime the touch of a guitarist.

  • what was the last song???

  • @DruMMaSt3R666

    war pigs by black sabbath

  • why are all good videos 4:20 long? Oh i know why :)..

  • @AakwardAardvark ...don't get it...

  • it's a guitano!!

  • Who cares if a bass is a guitar, which it is, because most of the time when someone says guitar, they think six strings. And a normal electric guitar sound. That's what the Crash Kings meant. No electric guitar. Not on Voodoo Child or anything else. So stop commenting saying things like "YOU RETARDS BASS IS A GUITAR!"

  • @JumboCakeMonster

LOL wrekt. I think you just got trolled by everyone.

  • nice

  • Does it matter if the bass is considered a guitar or not? The point of the video is to show good songs played without the electric guitar.

  • A bass is a guitar too actually

Fuck i better get out of here before em "music experts" attack me

  • @DarkGuitarKid aka internet trolls.

  • so sick

  • great group...thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • No guitar?v What's the bassist holding then dickwad

  • @lukethedrummer06 A bass you idiot. Learn music.

  • @comcube13 A bass what? (Hint: second word starts with a 'G' and ends with 'uitar'). Semantics of the video title aside, this was pretty cool.

  • @comcube13 A bass IS A GUITAR!

  • @ArcaneSgtPepper That's kinda what I just said.

  • @lukethedrummer06 I notice your name's luketheDRUMMER06, way to hold up your stereotype

  • @lukethedrummer06 was..that a serious question...

  • @cursedreject not really, i'm just being cynical and picky. There is a bass guitar in there though haha

  • This is the stupidest thing ive ever seen.

  • @FlowerPower41010 That is the stupidest comment I've ever seen.

  • Better than I can play on real guitar ;_;

  • the dislike bar is like lady gagas penis small an shouldn't be there

  • except bass guitar...it is a guitar people.

  • arent these guys from boston? that makes them all the more awesome

  • NO EVOLUTION AT ALL! CAUSE its NoT A GUITAR!! sorry...

  • @Comuna .......its the evolution of guitar ROCK. as in its evolved to the point it can be played on keyboard.

  • @Comuna its the guitar part he's playing.

  • what evolution as a result of hendrix the master comes santana, black sabath, led zeppellin, acdc and guns and roses and dont forget deep purple. any way I recomend ,the people take a look at this really funny evolution : XEYuEkoXcaA

  • What is the first song they play?

  • And I'm not much for tattoos, but the ink on his hands only makes this hotter. Uhhh, fever-shiver ...

  • This is so #$(@^% hot I can barely contain myself, especially the War Pigs climax. Rockbump waves travel up and down my body every time. I think I might actually be salivating. Hmmn, maybe I should actually check out the Crash Kings ...

  • hmm, "The evolution of Guitar Rock - With no guitars" I guess I didn't get the memo that bass GUITARS were no longer considered GUITARS. And yes, I know that the core instrument here was a keyboard, but saying this is a compilation with no guitars is like saying "I'm baking a cake with no eggs" and using a boxed mix you have to add egg to. Sure, it's not the core ingredient, but it's still THERE. However, very good playing by all involved

  • HI CRASHKING I`LL APPRECCIATE YOUR PROFESSIONAL COMMENTS ABOUT THE FIRST VIDEO OF MY CHILD AT : EVOLUTION OF ROCK CONDORCREATIVE

  • @soadrocks4 it keeps going with war pigs for the rest of it

  • Awesome!!!!

  • The 10 people who Disliked this video deserve to have large pineapples shoved up their asses. You people are reason that incredible musicians like this never get enough recognition. Now, go back to listening to your Lil Wayne and stop spreading your stupidity. Retards. Crash Kings are amazing.

  • Orgasm

  • The downsides are the tone and that the attack isn't noticeable nor distinctive.

  • these guys ROCK!!!

  • totally amazing !!!!!!

  • seeing these guys do this live is a-mazing

  • Does anyone know what effects he uses on his clav?

He is definitely using effects on all of this ,some more "synthy" than others which explains why it doesnt sound analog at times, probably a digital effect.

Clean, clavinets sound much more organic and like hammering on an electric guitar, I use analog effects on mine (Wah, Fuzz, Phasor) and can get rock guitar tones but not that Back in Black tone! So happy to find a rock band with keys leading the way. The whammy is what makes this special.

  • haha amazing!!!

  • Look at your self be a man with Asian lady *lushfmlk.info*

  • i want. i want so bad. whoever didnt like this is just an asshole.

  • @Spankyattack2013 No, the 11 dislikes attest to the awesomeness of this video because the people who are dumb enough to feel jealous and try to hate only exist and do their shenanigans cuz of how awesome this is.

  • i want. i want so bad.

  • and i like his tatoo lol

  • nuh uh thats B-A, lol that piano guitar thing is tight

  • I am blown away...............Tony is the BOMB! Amazing sound and feel!!

  • I really wanna download this and put it on my iPod somehow... Christ, I'd even pay for it. That was awesome possum rock n' roll.

  • AWESOME!!!

  • eshele palancazos maistro

  • It sounds like an 8-bit Gameboy, but capable of more octaves. Nice try, but there ain't nothing like the REAL THING! The rhythmic string scratch effect on the "Voodoo Chile" thing is pretty cool though.

  • this just made crash kings even more awesome and mindblowing for me. HELL YEAH

  • Oh man! The Sabbath stuff really does it for me!

  • @MusicandAnarchy Seriously?! Voodoo Child. Hendrix.

  • Simply amazing!

  • @MusicandAnarchy

the fact someone doesnt recognize that first one almost makes me wanna cry jimi hendrix - voodoo child

  • Comment removed

  • THESE DUDES ARE BLOODY WICKED!

  • although the crash kings are great and i love the way he incorporates the guitar sound with his piano...there is nothing like a real guitarists shredding the nar up on stage taking rock to a whole new level....still very very cool video

  • legit

  • @MusicandAnarchy jimmie hendrix-voodoo child

  • anyone can list all the songs please?

  • its all cool and awesome and i respect it..but why not just get a guitarist?

  • @ihatecars66 its kindoff their image! and I think its cool, it makes them unique!

  • @ihatecars66 It wouldn't be unique.

  • @ihatecars66 Aren't you tired of hearing them some basic sounds and tones over and over again? While there's no disrespecting guitar, this guys found a way of playing the same notes in a completely different way, and that's cool as hell.

  • i absolutely love this video.

  • Saw theese guys live.. it was orgasmic

  • <3 <3 <3 this band! :)

  • wow

  • AMazeing

  • ‎( ̄ー ̄)

  • really? how does everyone like this.. it sounds.. synthy.. I dont care if it's all analog with strings and is amplified by organic whole grain fair trade. It lacks tone

  • amazing

  • the bassist looks like bret from flight of the concords. haha

  • カッケー!

  • brian may

  • So, how can this band make those sweet sounds and Mountain Man and Saving Grace and then 10 or so other shitty songs? What the fuck happened on that album?

  • So they replaced a guitar with a keyed instrument? Are we seeing a revolution in music or just some people playing a medley?

  • The clavinet is a keyboard instrument that strikes a single string internally to produce it's sound. Probably the most well known song which features it prominently is Stevie Wonder's version of "Superstition". This guy has managed to put a whammy on his. Amazing.

  • Great sound ! I wish I could hear more of Jimi's Voodoo Child though

  • I need an Mp3 of this! STAT!

  • Yup, sounds like real bad midi karaoke backing tracks...

    Hilarious!

  • this was really impressive. loved it!

  • led zepplin!

  • go crash kings

  • Does the bass get no love? Cause that Fender P is definitely a guitar.

  • @Zuhzuhzombie A bass is not a guitar. A guitar is a guitar and a bass is a bass. That's like saying a cello is a violin.

  • @slickt0mmy It's a bass guitar. A tenor guitar with only 4 strings is still a guitar. The cello is actually tuned to the same tuning to viola (bass violin). Also, just so you know, both the cello and the violin are "viola da braccio". Meaning, both are in the same family of instruments. Like the guitar. :)

  • @Zuhzuhzombie ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ... you got that right, zombie ... so shut the fuck up slickt0mmy,

  • Comment removed

  • HOLY SHIT JIMI!!!

  • Awesome stuff! These guys rock! Who needs a guitar?

  • This is awesome.

  • what's the last song?

  • @marce1314 Black Sabbath - War Pigs

  • @marce1314 That's just the end of War PigsCan you dig it!!

  • omfg bohemian rhapsody to back in black is fuckin sick

  • badass

  • Fucking love this band!

  • now thats talent :) Great band. I'm hooked.

  • there are 2 people who don´t know what talent means!

  • wow that part when they switch from Back in Black to War Pigs.... excellent!

  • That was the most beautiful thing I have ever laid ears on...:')

  • I really can't get enough of this band!

  • black dog=undeniable

  • bad ass

  • I absolutely love this band! and that whammy bar on his keyboard is sick!

  • I prefer the guitars to 90's midi sounds

  • @catellierdominic hell yeah. but their own songs are cool

  • @catellierdominic This isnt 90's midi sounds. The clavinet is all analog. Its like a piano with guitar pickups. So it basically is a guitar, but played in a much more unique way.

  • @firesidemusic it's a Clavinet...what Stevie Wonder played "Superstition" on. It has a mod on it called a Castlebar. It was modded in England, I believe. It was so expensive, back then, to send it overseas that less than 100 were ever made. The whammy bar bends the bridge plate of the Clavinet. Pretty sweet.

  • @firesidemusic its almost like a giant keytar

  • @firesidemusic Technically, a clavinet is an amplified harpsichord. Harpsichords, unlike pianos, pluck the stings, not hammer them. So it is quite similar to a guitar in that respect.

    Awesome video, by the way.

  • @GV14982 Oooh sweet! Thanks for the insight :)

  • @firesidemusic You're very welcome. :)

  • @GV14982 I believe a Clavinet is actually an amplified Clavichord, not an amplified Harpsichord. The Clavichord was popular around the same time as the Harpsichord, though.

  • @catellierdominic 90's midi sounds? what are you smoking?

  • Epic!

  • Fuckin awesome!!!!!

  • Awsome!!!! :D

  • I never realized the lack of knowledge about the difference between a guitar and a bass guitar....... Kinda sad that people are so uninformed

  • @RememberingTheLost The terms "bass" & "bass guitar" have been used interchangeably almost since the invention of the instrument. Walk into any music store & ask for a bass guitar. They will show you an instrument that looks very much like what Mike is playing in the video. This will happen 100% of the time.

That is the true definition of any word. When everybody knows what you mean when you say it and they all think of the same thing then the they hear it, the word is defined.

  • Tony bad arse, for REAL.

  • Major WOOD~

  • The bass is not a guitar. It's a bass!!! Two different things! People always mispronounce it as bass guitar. It's just bass people!

  • @Jonnyf5 It's called a bass guitar, because bass refers to an upright bass, like the ones used in symphonic music. Because bass guitars have frets and are played sideways, they have more in common with a guitar than a bass so they are called bass guitars. I believe they are also an octave or two higher in pitch than an upright bass.

  • @Jonnyf5 No, it's bass guitar.
