Your snare sounds different, not because of the tuning but, the motion-ending stroke (at the last micro-second of the stroke) and the grip perhaps.

Sounds more solid, defined, with more body, like the sounds Gospel drummers get from their snares. (ie. Aaron Spears, Teddy Campbell, etc).
