  • @streetfighterchallen look up the video "LOL" he says it at the very beginning of it.....hard to type how to pronounce it LMAO

  • way out of sync, dude

  • Love the movie.

  • OUT OF SYNC

  • Why is Jennifer so damn hot?

  • Jason Bonham on drums as well.

  • The sound and video are not syncronized at all.. :L

  • NEW MUSIC GROUP CAN DIN SKY

  • Yo...I used this footage to make a video for my track, Stand Up and Shout ...its on my page

  • all out of sync.....

  • all out of sync.....

  • I love Jennifer Aniston.

  • The best song forever!!!

  • One of the best scenes in the movie!!

  • Mark does not sing this. Dont be stupid

  • @mark24256 man but its sounds diffrent from all versions Ive heard in youtube..

  • SON OF BONZO

  • so mate you want the gig then...lol cant hear it on hear but thats what he sais right after hes finished singing great line lol

  • Can someone PLEASE tell me the title for a movie about a retired rockstar that has put his career as a secret to both his wife and children??? It's a quite new one, and I can't find out what it's called or which actors are in it!! :O

  • Mark is sooo hot. XD And, omg, that fat dude plays Peter Pettigrew in Harry Potter xD

  • Mark is sooo hot. XD And, omg, that fat dude plays Peter Pettigrew i Harry Potter xD

  • is it just my comp or is this not synced right

  • @The911Nerd It's way out of sync

  • Mark Walberg is not singing. It is Mike Matijevik from Steelheart.

  • I found this from an interview with Mark:

~ He's definitely singing. He thinks.

Well, some of it. Which parts, not even Wahlberg knows.

"I'd have to listen [to the singing in the movie] closely. I studied with the vocal coach for six months, but we also had somebody else who sang the songs. But whenever we performed, we performed live, so--I'd have to pay attention to [the songs]. If I could hit them all [the notes], it would only be my voice." ~

    Hope this helps :)

  • Hey ya'll check out GwapoElric's comment below.....I looked this up, he is correct.....Mark was singing at the beginning of the song. Mili's voice was dubbed when you hear it get harder and more powerful.

  • No yall, he really DID sing he just had help on them BIG ASS high notes. Watch the end credits of the movie and yall dumbasses would know that.

  • Why is this version better then the original version? :o

Is it because he is the only one singing the high voice? Because it sounds likes it's a backup singer in the original song?

  • that is him singing retards

  • Wrong. Period. Miljenko Matijevic, who sang for Steelheart, does the voclas for Wahlberg and Jeff Scott Soto does the singing for the Steel Dragon singer. He cannot sing. Rapping and trying to carry a tune does not come close to the amazing singing in this movie and on this soundtrack. Haven't you ever wondered why --if he can sing this amazing well-- you have never heard him sing this way before the movie or after? The answer is, he can't sing.

  • Yeah I can tell mark was singing the lower parts. I've heard this version of the song a lot of times.

  • mark didnt sing one note sorry yall wrong

  • FUCK YEAH!!!!!

  • this scene is golden

  • Mark is IT!

  • Beautiful abs Mark!!

  • Michael Starr appears before this scene

  • i love how everyone is arguing over stupid facts when the important thing is its a damn good song. shut up and listen.

  • one of my favorite actors, i aspire to be like him...

  • i love this movie! i only saw it a few days ago but i can't believe i was missing this!

  • This should clear everything up....Google "Steel Dragon" and go to the wikipedia article. It gives the lineup.

  • You are ALL WRONG.

    1. Mark Wahlberg is really singing the ones he messes up on.

    2. Miljenko Matijevic of Steelheart did do this song orginally.

HOWEVER, in the movie the person singing the song is actually Sebastian Bach (from Skid Row fame).

    Thats the real scoop.

  • @anonymousmichigan Please research it!!! Bach????Are you fukin serious??? Jeff Scott Soto did the original singer "Bobby's" vocals...Mark's character "Chris" was Miljenko Matjevic. Milijenko says so himself in recent interviews. AND it is in the movie's credits. Please do your homework. LOL

  • @rearea919 yes i know...watch the credits....SEBASTIAN BACH. Nuff said, end of story.

  • @anonymousmichigan Wow ok if you choose to believe that more power to ya sweets but uh.....Sebastian Bach nor his voice appears NOWHERE in the movie.

  • @rearea919 Actually Mark sang his own songs in the movie and was just dubbed when he wasn't hitting the right notes. This is taken from an Entertainment Tonight interview with him:

    "MS: Now, were you singing?

MW: I sing a lot of it. I sang throughout the whole thing and it was up to Steve to use my vocals when it was good and if they had to dub any of it. They were certainly more than welcome to dub anything."

  • @anonymousmichigan I thought it sounded like Baz

  • All politics are local, and all bands are political, some more than others, but believe me mate, political they are. If you haven't seen the movie, do, it's surprisingly good.

    Nigel

  • He's a pretty good lip-syncer, lol. I think if i didn't know that wasn't him, i would believe it.

  • It's Steelheart, they do the song, they do the soundtrack, it's the WHOLE band....

  • there's nothing of the 80's heavy metal music in this crappy movie

  • Watch my audition go on my channel and comment please :)""""

  • I EAT loads of PUSSY

  • i didn't know steel heart was an actual band idk why they changed to steel dragon thou

  • Hey Zero, it's NOT Steel Heart. Mike Mativijec of Steel Heart did Wahlberg's vocals and that ends the Steel Heart connection. You'll see Jeff Pilson (Dokken, Forigner) on Bass, and Zakk Wylde (Ozzy, Black Label Society) on Lead Guitar. And the drummer is Jason Bonham, son of John Bonham, an amazing drummer, but has never played for Steel Heart. The guy with the long, curly black hair conducting the audition is an actor, not a musician.

  • it's frikkin STEEL HEART

  • Great movie. Jen was absolutely gorgeous.

  • His voice is Jeff Scott Soto. ;)

  • @ozzyeastwood No dude, it's Mike Matijevic. And actually it was M. Matijevic who composed 'we all die young'

  • No, Jeff Scott Soto wrote Stand Up which was used for the movie. The lead singer for Steel Heart did all the high/screaming parts.

  • @conor8878 THANK YOU!!!! someone who actually knows the FACTS!!!!

  • Hey Ozzy..J.S.S. actually was the singing voice of the original lead vocalist in the movie.

  • he IS singing

its true what he says in this movies

    his teacher taught him how

  • no, he isnt the real singer

  • Well it wouldn't be surprised if Mark Wahlberg could actually sing like that, considering his younger brother is the singer for New Kids on the Block

  • @SqualI42 Donnie from NKOTB is actually his older brother, but I totally agree with you, I like to think he did at least some of the singing from this film :)

  • In the commentary he is singing, lip syncying is nothing coming out. They have more then 2 singers singing Steel dragon.

  • It actually looks like Mark's the one singin

  • Yeah he does a great job lip-syncing

  • @JustinFH marky isnt lip syncing. that's his actual singing voice. no joke

  • @JustinFH mark is actually singing. not lip syncing

  • @Spic173 RESEARCH IT!!!! This is Matijevic's voice. Mark is NOT singing!!!! This is an original song by Steel Heart. It appeared on their 1996 album "Wait" Look it up!!!

  • @JustinFH he's not lip syncing. its him.

  • @JustinFH What about some credit for the movie editors

  • @ryukenju It's Mike Matijevic!!

  • @ryukenju That's because it is Mark singing, see my comment below....just google the interview with Mark on Entertainment Tonight about Rock Star.

  • @ryukenju He did sing it then just cut his voice out & replaced it with Mili.

  • @ryukenju Actually, I believe he does sing the song.

  • @ryukenju He's an amazing actor. My favorite.

  • geez i bet you guys also believe that it was mark wahlberg's actual penis at the end of boogie nights too lol

  • One thing for certain, they had Jennifer Anniston looking positively smoking. That is the best I've seen her look ever.

Amazing vocals in this segment. Matijevic goes from buttery smooth to decapitating sonic thunderbolt. What a rush it must be to be able to pull that kind of shit out.

How'd ya get that range mike? D'ya eat a lot o' pussy? lol (Sorry, couldn't help myself...)

  • wow mark walhberg is such a versitile actor isnt he? i mean really he can play any role you ask him too.

  • he's swedish. <33

  • this scene gives me shivers down my spine every time haha

  • He's a good singer

  • Mark Wahlberg does do SOME singing in the movie, not this song, but he has some vocals that are in the movie...

  • Like in witch part of the film does he really sing?

  • at the end credits when he's talking about no more rock its all about rap. :P

  • yeeeeeeeeeeah!!!

  • lol @ idiots on here who think this is Mark really singing

  • yes, this was Mike Matijevic singing, not Mark Wahlberg ,so frankie1089 maybe you should check your sources

    great movie tho^^

  • Great movie. Great singing by Matijevic. Great acting by Marky Mark. 'Nuff said.

  • yhea i do :))

  • @ EVERYONE - Let's just enjoy the song for crying out loud - since we all know one thing for sure - We all Die Young :o)

  • does mark actually sings this awesome??? =0

  • Comment removed

  • @aberjan21

    a) wrong. Google "Miljenko Matijevic"

    b) Great actor for sure

    c) Rapper, yes. Singer, no.

  • @JustinFH

    check ur sources buddy

  • @frankie1089 My source is the DVD I ripped this clip from. This is originally a Steelheart song, a group which is led by Matijevic.

  • Sorry Guys This is definitely not Mark singing, it is Mike Matijevic from the Metal band "SteelHeart" from the early 90's, I don't know where people get the idea that it is Mark singing, if you don't believe me checkout the original version by Steelheart :We all die young" from their 1996 album "WAIT" Cheers Dude.

  • @aberjan21 you should do some research before posting shit ! there's a cool thing called google dude. THIS IS NOT MARK !

  • Whew, I'm glad he got the gig. I was worried he wouldn't there for a while.

  • He has the most amazing sing voice ever and I love him so much.

  • @MrsLoveMuffin13

unfortunately Mark Wahlberg does not do the singing in this movie or for the soundtrack. The singing is done by Miljenko (Michael) Matijevic who sang for Steelheart and Jeff Scott Soto who sang for Yngwie Malmsteen and Journey, among others.

But I agree, amazing voice! This is my favourite film ever, the music takes me to another planet...

  • Are you trying to say that mark is not really singing in this? if yes, but it sounds like him singing the song.

  • Mark is NOT really singing this. It doesn't sound like his voice at all. He used to be in a band called New Kids On The Block, and he used to rap.

Miljenko (Michael) Matijevic and Jeff Scott Soto recorded all of the vocals on the tracks for the film.

Mark didnt sing on them, he mimed.

  • THAT MiGHT BE TRUE BUT HE WAS NEVER iN NEW KiDS ON THE BLOCK ... TRUST ME 2 OF MY SiSTERS LiSTENED TO NKOTB ALL THE TiME ! MARK'S BROTHER DONNiE WALHBERG WAS iN THAT GROUP NOT MARK .

  • @OJLuscious Ah yes you're right I apologise, I was wrong, it was Donnie who was in NKOTB. Mark did do some rapping though under the name Marky Mark lol.

But no, unfortunately he didn't do the vocals in the film =/

  • you are wrong. mark wahlberg did do some of the vocals in the film but not all. please do your homework before mouthing off.

  • Was I mouthing off? Please tell me how any vocabulary I used was classed as mouthing off? I wasn't being offensive in the slightest so how about stop trying to dictate to me over the internet which is pointless and just enjoy the video clip? Nobody likes to read people bitching about each other so just grow up...

    I'm done with this debate.

  • Donald Wahlberg (his older bro ) was in the New Kids On The Block, not "Marky Mark" Wahlberg ;-).... other informations are true.

This song Singing Matjevic [it's his own song anyway.. from SteelHeart album "Wait" (1996) ]

  • Yeah I did later realise that it was Donnie in NKOTB and I DID later correct myself :)

I think people just need to chill the fuck out with pointless information like this. It's a great film and arguing over the net is for morons, and spoils this Youtube clip. This is in no way aimed at you Pierek83 by the way, it's just a general observation I'm making.

  • @ phoenix8990

if i must be true any infos about this clip are pointless... that was masterpiece by Miljenko... nothing more to say ;p

    peace.

  • mark is one of the best actors i love this movie i love the band great =]

  • i love this song and i love mark wahlburg and i think this is the best movie he has been in.

  • @iluvdrawingeyes1884

    I like Shooter better

  • not to sound all corny and soft (which it probably does)..but anyone that's been in a TRUE realtionship, had a soulmate... Knows what it means AND how powerful the scene moment is at 1:13.

    Damn I miss that! \m/

  • That part sends shivers down my spine =)

  • This is my fave part of the movie. I just love it when people can sing. I just need a compilation of this, the church, the Steel Dragon concert where he outsings Bobby Beers and the press conference. And yes, I know it's not Mark Wahlberg singing. But he does a great lip sync!

  • I've read that it's Wahlberg singing the first part (up to the 2:00 mark in this clip) and then he lip syncs the rest.

  • Miljenko Matijevic provides his voice and for some of the other bands.

  • August Rush was my favorite movie.. Not anymore... This movie is too good! \m/ \m/

  • The fact that Bonhams fat in this movie, yet in shape when he was on Supergroup. And Zakk Wylde without the beard is funny too see. Its funny how the 3 actual musicians in this had only bits & pieces of dialogue.

  • You know this movie is quite good for the first half. After that the wheels comes off and it goes careening off into a worthless heap of dung.

  • What was wrong with the second half of the movie?

  • that's not a valid reason don't you think? That's just opinionated. I respect your opinion but mate, come on.. please leave your poor commentary to yourself. Not very cool, man.

  • Lol

  • haha, no joke man. O___o

  • This is actually a song by steelheart in the late 80's early 90's. The same lead singer does the vocals for this movie.

  • Definitely one of the more underrated movies of recent..... really like it though

  • The entire film took me by surprise, actually. I never thought much of Mark Wahlberg before this. Great film and some really cool music from Steel Dragon. This tune fuckin' kills!!!!!!

  • wow...wish i could do that...thats so impressive

  • This is my 2nd favourite part after the HALLELUJAH !!!!!!!! bit.

  • Your right that part is the best!

  • Nah the best part is the part right after this where they are taking publicity pix and the photographer tells him to show a little heavy metal attitude and he tries but he's so happy that he can't quit smiling. Actually, I think that those two parts should be counted as one.

  • jennifer anniston is there for eye candy. gotta say it's damn good candy at that

  • fuckin A

  • best part in the whole film i say :)

  • HEAVY METAL!!!

  • ты хуй!

  • Do you want the gig then? : )

  • la tonalità e bassa....ahahahahah.....il film è molto molto più forte...parola di tecnico....ciaoooooooooooo

  • Definitely the best part.

  • 0:42

  • Maybe the best part of the movie.

  • Such an awesome scene. I love at 2:37 when you see the guy shaking his head... as if... "oh shit, he's not going to make it"... but of course, he does. This movie rocks.

  • There is another scene in the booth later in the movie. Does anybody know what song is that?

  • You've probably figured it out by now but the song you're referring to is Reckless.

  • If you mean the part just after they say they've written the new album & mug Izzy off for "doing his own thing". The song is called Reckless.

  • Jennifer aniston would always be gorgeus

  • I like her too but I don't really see her fit in Rockstar. I can't see her connected to any kind of music.

  • Nice hair extension.

  • i think i love him =O

  • i have to say that mark does great on matching the words. first time i saw this movie i actully thought that was him

  • Mike Matijevic does the vocals for this movie

    marky mark is a rapper;p

  • Mark used to be a singer but not in this movie, he used to sing kind of hip hop music, good movie by the way

  • mark actually sang this? if he did he has an amazing voice!!

  • He can sing, but this isn't him..... it's Steel Heart

  • Awesome voice.... Blows me away every time I hear this.

  • One of the best scenes in any movie. I get pumped when I see it.

  • Comment removed

  • this is my fav movie!!!!
