I have a 3 story, 6 unit apartment building. The thermostat is manual, and is located in the basement inside the boiler room. Approx how much would it cost to move the thermostat to the top floor? My goal is to achieve maximum energy efficiency.
Our newly constructed home was built very poorly (as were many during the boom). Our joists do not sit directly on our foundation, instead they put about 6 to 12 inches of wood framing to hold up the house. YOu can actually stick your hand through these areas out to the front of the house.
I've visited many new homes and they have absolutely NO interior weather stripping. How am I to know which ones work? I'll go to the hardware store and look. I love your videos and your column so I thought I'd ask you first.
New windows and doors have the weatherstripping built in. Go to a Marvin, Pella or Weathershield Window/Door dealer to get up to speed. Ask them to show you the weatherstripping.
I would really have liked to learn about weatherstripping interior doors. I'm getting a lot of drafts coming through the doors and I want to make sure I have it done right.

There are many different products you can buy that are easy to install. Go look at them at hardware stores.
