If you find that a song has a different bpm every second then you are focusing on notes and not beats. You must be. Try tapping your fingers to the whole song and see what sounds right during the song if there isnt any bass kicks or anything to go by. i just doubt the bpm is changing every second, er... maybe unless it was death metal.

Some songs that I've noticed, have a new bpm every second or so. UGH! That takes forever!!!
