Spitzer was an excellent Attorney General, the position best suited to his aggressive, passionate and service oriented personality. Of course Wall street is cheering this, he's one of the few people who has attempted to hold those criminals accountable.

I'm a New Yorker and while this is all distasteful I really don't care who he has sex with or whether or not he pays for it. If it was his money then it's not that big a deal (it appears to have been the case).

Obviously the sex for pay industry has problems but I don't really see that exploitation as being much worse (if at all) than the multi-nationals who trade on Wall Street while engaging in slave labor practices around the world, polluting the environment and then cooking the books so they don't have to pay those taxes you refer to.

I'd like it if there was no exploitation but the women who worked for that company are not worse off than child laborers who make your clothes.
