Nice vid. I have a problem. When climbing to FL300 at 1800 fpm (on autopilot) the plane takes an extreme nose up attitude and bleeds off speed to the point I begin to stall. What am I doing wrong? Even when I get to level flight, the nose is still 20 deg high. Any help would be very much appreciated. One nice thing about us flight simmers, is we all help each other, which is why you posted the vid to begin with ;)
I'm getting the product in 2-3 days and I'm already watching this! So then I know what to do when I get it. You've helped me with the Captain Sim 757, now you've helped me with the PMDG 747! Thanks man!
You're a life saver. Thanks for taking the time to explain this. I only just got the PMDG 747-400 and was struggling to get to grips after flying the tock 747's for so long, using the Satnav type interface. Thanks a lot.
@Fragem420 Ouch, this is going to hurt, if you had been bright enough to check my other vids, you would have realized I made a tutorial about flight planning long ago... Yeah, I bet you feel pretty shitty right now ahahahahah!!
i watched the flight planning tutorial, i still don't understand according to what do i need to select the SID and STAR. and my SID list in the FMC is empty even though i have the txt files in the pmdg folder
Ummmm on my PMDG 747 i always start out with 22% fuel and when i change it on the fuel and payload options nothing happens also how do i find out the waypoints from different airports
@crazym26 You have to change the fuel from add-ons tab at top select PMDG and you'll see fuel there. You can find waypoints by using a flight planning software.Like FSBuild 2
I dont understand. If you look at your FMC under thrust limit, then in the right corner it says "to N1" but in my FMC it says "To EPR". is there any difference?? :S
So he tells you what he is doing without explaining to the common man why? The FMC can be configured much quicker if you know what you are doing (poster does not).
All those who want to know how you get the waypoints, I asked the same question and did alot of Googling. I found a helpful website designed for this exact purpose, going to try and post it, don't know if it will work or not.
rfinder(dot)asalink(dot)net(slash)free

@awesomeburodude I took time to make these tutorials, and consider that when people spit on my hard work, it is my right to answer back ;). And it's certainly not a little prick like yourself (one word by the way) who's going to tell me what to do! Piss off sucker!
Ok I have a real problem. Say I fly from france to new york the route takes me half way over the atlantic but it takes me back to france and then goes to new york. And all the time the route is not efficient. Please help. Know any other better flight plan? I use flight aware
When i switch to align my screens show hardly anything and have a yellow map thing in the middle. then when i switch it back to nav they are the same and dont go back to normal. what do i have to do?
Is this what real airline pilots do on the fmc before flight and airborne. Or is this just fsx fun? I want to be a real pilot and I was wandering if its something to do for real.
When I pressed EXEC to activate the flight plan under the Activate screen/button, nothing happened and if it did I couldn't get the view knob for the displays over to PLAN.
@reco217 I also Experienced that, It means your perf page is not completely programmed. Check if you're missing something, like your altitude or cost index
one question, if you create your flight plan before you start your flight, (in the FSX menu) will the waypoints be entered for you? How do i remember all of those lol?
@mfastx you can print these points. the pilot always have flight plan with points ;) he can't remember every points because it's easy to make an error.
@marko071988 wait, im really confused those waypoints are they gonna be different everytime you go in a different destination? so we just copy everything you do? except the airport details?
@aolambros First, thanks for watching all the video before commenting, second, I'm not sure that's the way you do it, knowing that the legs page is the second page of the route page, it makes more sense to enter the waypoints then rather than after, but I'm no pro!
but the thing is my instant setting isn't working at all, it just jumps back to 10 mins. And after 10 mins I waited for it to align i put it to nav when the time dissapears it still did not align!!
when you set the irs line, its supposed to enter into the "set IRS position" and then dissapear right? but my numbers just stay there and dont dissapear, it this because i didnt set it to instant? and also my instant setting isnt working and it does not align itsself after 10 mins
Do you have a problem when starting it up that sometimes there are errors on the thrust LCD display in yellow like you have at the start of this vid? Sometimes I start free flight and everything is working perfectly and others initially the IRS is turned off and there are a lot of errors, any ideas?
@vaccine23 Sorry I replied to the wrong comment. But both are linked: watch my video on easy flight planning to understand how you get the flight plan.
Hi. nice vid. I was wondering how you are flying with a SID? Are you flying a VFR flight in the sim? (which the flight plan you entered is an IFR.) I was wondering because I want to fly with SIDS and STARS, but sometimes when I call for clrearence from ATC, they say that only IFR flights are being performed at the airport. Please help
Yeah I know, you already told me... I was just saying that I got that altitude from a real flightplan. The average altitude a b747-400 would fly at is 35 000 ft actually.
So like you could do it with all the fmc set up you did but all you got to do is go to the departure arrival page and select an ILS runway and select an approach speed and that is it.
Ok thanks marko! Can you make an autoland tutorial because I am stuck on that and really want to learn that and I am going to definately subscribe to your channel!!
I don't think I'll be doing any more vids unfortunately, don't have the time. But I can help you with autolands though. You need to make sure the runway has a CATIII ILS and then you do a normal ILS approach and leave the AP on until you're down on the ground.
I really need your help marko I takeoff and I put the VNAV LNAV and the Flight Director switch on and it wont let me put the main autopilot switch on and it keeps on going up if you let go of the controls it just doesnt do anything it is supposed to do and I did all the FMC setup that you had done to.
THANK YOU SO MUCH marko071988 ,I had a lot of trouble setting the IRS with the FMC ,and trust me I have seen almost all the tutorials around,I even learn much more than I need it ,Thanks ;-)
hey good tut , however i do know how to get from point A to point B :) but i just use the export dll for fsnav and just enter it under co route. this enters yoru entire route which leaves you free to edit it or carry out other tasks

hey, i just want to fly direct to the arrivel airport. i dont really care about diffrent waypoints, jetways or SIDS/STAR. If there a way of just putting a simple flight plan with just the departure airpot and arrivel airport and getting the fmc to give me a route to fly direct without having to put loads of waypoints in?
i have tried setting just two waypoints manytimes and i still get the same result, the cud goes blank when i press execute but then nothing happens on the map. have you tried setting the two waypoints and does the same happen to you?
If you get a black screen it's because there's a problem within the software, I don't think you are doing anything wrong, especially if you follow the tutorial and adapt it to your flight. I think PMDG can help you better than me.
hey dude...umm whenever i am on cruise with the pmdg 747,when i increase the simulation rate to like 8x....mi engines like loose power to almost abt idle and then it rises back up..when it happens soo mi autothorttle disengages(not the autopilot)...i was wondering if it happens to u too?
why it says for me that im at -7642 feet and it says my flaps are at full

Weird... did you try doing the whole thing over?
marko071988 2 years ago
i have tried setting just two waypoints manytimes and i still get the same result, the cud goes blank when i press execute but then nothing happens on the map. have you tried setting the two waypoints and does the same happen to you?

It works fine for me. Try reinstalling or contacting PMDG...
marko071988 2 years ago
hmmm, could you just quickly write up the steps that you did to get this to work and i will give it another go. Hope this works, thanks
britishpride2 2 years ago
If you get a black screen it's because there's a problem within the software, I don't think you are doing anything wrong, especially if you follow the tutorial and adapt it to your flight. I think PMDG can help you better than me.

SID stands for standard instrument departure. It gives you the path you need to follow to leave the aiport area.

hey dude...umm whenever i am on cruise with the pmdg 747,when i increase the simulation rate to like 8x....mi engines like loose power to almost abt idle and then it rises back up..when it happens soo mi autothorttle disengages(not the autopilot)...i was wondering if it happens to u too?
cammaro08 2 years ago
Yeah, it's a real pain. I just put in back on and after a few times it stops doing it.
marko071988 2 years ago
i found an another way...just close the fuel x valve and then u can put it to 16x and it wont happen...buh it can cause major balancing problem
cammaro08 2 years ago
Oh ok, thanks for that!
marko071988 2 years ago
Try using 4X not 8X it might work.
