  • WOW...most awesome kinetic sculpture so far.... i want one in my home someday! =)

  • i want to make one of these so bad

  • that's awesome! you should make it do that every 30 secs or so to surprise people

  • Fantastic!

  • It is fascinating and beautiful. Great work ;)

You are very talented. I like it so much.

Greetings from sunny Bavaria : )))

  • Very nice and very well done!

  • Take the outside frame away and its like a trap from saw.

  • i could watch this on hours on end and still understand next to nothing of this :3

  • The "spiral staircase" design of the crank mechanism is very impressive - in it's design and it's construction. Very creative and, as usual - very inspirational! Thanks Brett!

  • Love it !

  • That shit should be the alarm on a wall clock. Freak out EVERYONE.

  • Awesome!!!

  • HAHAHAHA! that's awesome!

  • @vulkein Glad you got a kick out of it, had me laughing at it for hours the first time I switched it on. Cheers, Brett.

  • i love you work...is there some way you can teach this art to others...you have open my eyes to a whole new world thought..thank you

  • @zhria0828 Pleasure, glad you're inspired! I intend to do some tutorial video's at some point in future, but finding time for them is difficult ATM. Thanks for commenting, glad you enjoyed! Cheers, Brett.

  • I really like the concept. That sticking on the side bothers me to no end, im certain it bothers you as well.. ergo Prototype. Once this movement becomes fluid this should really be something!

  • This is marvelous!

  • yeah,.... this is definitely awesome :3

  • @ravengurl100 Glad you enjoyed, thanks for commenting.

  • 1 dislike? why???

  • @soad1789 The dislike is grandfather clock, he's old fashioned.

  • this does not have enough views

  • IT'S THE GODDAMN LEMARCHAND'S BOX, CENOBITES WILL COME FO' YO' ASS

  • HAAAAAAAAAAAAX

  • Brilliant...but it'd have to be dang near silent for me to hang it my house, which is a tricky, but not impossible, thing to do with all those moving parts.

  • You could put a clock on the front of it, with a transparent face (so we can still see the inner workings of the piece) and I would so hang this up on my wall. I'd hang it up anyway, but it would be cool if it were a clock as well as a work of art.

  • @xxRazorJadexx Hi Jesse, it's a nice idea but there are heaps of people out there doing wooden clocks. Though I've always said I would never do automata, but the sculpture I am working on is in effect, a large automata. So, never say never I guess. Glad you enjoyed the work!

  • @xxRazorJadexx No.... too cliche.

  • @jtre1 It's cliche to make something that's been done previously, in a new and profound amazing beautiful way?

Damn car makers, they're so cliche...

Damn painters, using paint... How cliche...

Damn architects, building houses. Totally been done before.

I'm pretty confidenct this guy could make a non-cliche clock if he wanted to; looking at his work, he's a genius.

  • i would honestly pay alot of money for one of those, ive seen alot of money spent on bullshit art, and this one is truly amazing

  • @bringMEtoLIFE187 Much appreciated! There is plenty of bullshit art out there but it caters to bullshit tastes. I make the kind of art that I would buy, glad you like it too! Cheers, Brett.

  • @MechanicalSculptor i hope other people agree with us, now a days people will buy alot of bullshit items cuse they can, like snuggies , retarded idea but people love them, keep making wonderful art like this and stay true to your amazing ideas and i will always support you, ( already showed 176 friends from FB this, almost all loved it) it makes me happy to see theres still creativity left in this world, MUCH LOVE from NewYork

  • @bringMEtoLIFE187 Hmmm, I wonder what will be next, the pillow with a face hole? You would never need to take it off, so would always be prepared for resting your head anywhere! A great accompaniment for the Snuggie I'm sure! Thank you very much for the compliment, and thanks for showing your friends, I'm glad most of them got a kick out of it. Sending the love right back from the middle of nowhere, Australia. Have a great week, Brett.

  • Jesus Wept

  • This is ART professor...you cunt!

  • Truly amazing.

  • @Cambariere Very kind of you, glad you enjoyed the artwork! Cheers, Brett.

  • I'm half expecting the Cenobites to show up...

  • I'll bet you're married.

  • I like the part where the frame came apart, and went back together

  • @Athusmindless That part was terrible. Now the part where the gear was turning was something to behold!

  • i am offering 100000000 dollars to whomever can find me one for my room

  • @emoXodus Haha! Well that's a pretty good offer..... For 100 million bucks I'll build you one for each room of your mansion! Thanks for the entertaining comment my friend, Brett.

  • im gonna make this on incredibots

  • @tayjasmith link pls

  • Stunning in it's beauty and creative design. You inspire me. Maybe I can return the favor some day.... thanks for sharing...

  • i'd very much like to see this run from the side. i'm curious as to how the arms cross each other at the center like that.

  • Love how the frame comes away on this one. What a brilliant idea!

  • Looks good !!!

  • Totally was not expecting that to happen when i clicked this video!

  • THIS IS INSANE!

  • @mosu95 Ha, thanks shO, glad you enjoyed it. I will be posting a longer video of it soon, so keep an eye out for it. Cheers, Brett.

  • OMG! I like all of your pieces, but especially this one! This is just *amazing*. I guess I`d trade my soul for it ;-)

  • Very good inspiration .... I liked :)

  • OK, now that one blew my mind. reminds me of a transformer or something exploding in slow motion.

what training do you have? you must be a mechanical engineer to make things like this.

  • Now I know what the Prototype Mechanism # 1 has led to...:) This design and mechanism won my heart instantly. Not only is it beautiful and interesting...it also symbolizes, at least to me, how every part of any whole is integral to an entire entity's essence. I think that the main attraction to me here is the expansion and contraction which epitomize the motion of the entire Universe. :) I imagine this work to be a microcosm of the Universe in motion. :)

  • I love your work! I always wanted to learn how to do this. Hundreds of years ago...artists did this type of mechanical art with...plays. It would be neat to see a short show all wood and mechanical. Timed just right w/ music.

  • THis is so awesome! SO alive!

  • I would love to have this in my bedroom and stare into it as I fell asleep.

    ~ Melania

  • Revolutionary!

  • these are like maltese ground fireworks

  • i want it!!!

  • da vinci art

  • Looks like a perpetual motion machine or maybe a clock... Neat :)

  • I had a dream where I was sleeping with Peter Pan... it was weird

  • awesome.

  • for a mechanical sphincter, it sure does look awesome.

  • HA! Now that's bloody funny! Comment of the week goes to you...

  • i feel accomplished to have made someone much smarter than me laugh.

  • Nice! I love clever stuff like that.

  • Strange lights blinking & camera shakes a lot. All looks like animation, not video. But it looks amazing.

  • this reminds me lemarchand box!

  • bixas

  • boingboingboingboing

  • Excellent!

  • fantastic. open a shop and start selling these things for five grand (and send me one gratis for helping you get rich).

  • He already does, you'll just have to buy one, genius.

  • Just beautiful :) Made my day :D

  • great!

  • Beautifully done. A sensational mechanism applied artfully. Bravo!
