Yeah...you may need to move the harddrive into a different, more capable, and install the OS on that second computer, then place the harddrive back in the Toughbook.
i have 2 of the cf-27 model but i dont have a cd rom for the 27 and so i cant install any os other then xp if i used the floppy boot method and then i can get it to recognize the usb port but under 2000 it wont see the usb port and says there is no cd rom at all so right now i am on a hunt for a pcmcia cd rom or even an internal cd rom.
I'm 28 and there's some random kid out there shares my hobbies of beating up Toughbooks and putting various Linux Distros on them. This gives me faith in humanity.
just because its design to be punched around doesn't justify you banging it up OK. soon I'm putting up some videos of my laptops if you want to watch :)
Well, since then, I got a new laptop, an Eee PC. So I don't use the 28 anymore. But I am running Open GEU. However, in the video, I am running Enlightenment.
i see why you need a toughbook you should try to take care of your computers they are not invincible and your very lucky that you have police friends or family those things are not cheap trust me i own 5 and out of those 5 4 are still working and the 5th is broke because i ran over it with my car to prove a point so how ever fun it mabe to try to break them dont try to hard
