Wow this dude sucks. Such a heavy accent. Citrix people should hire better speaking people. The product sucks. Slow, printer issues, hardware change issue. Not ideal for small or medium size company. You could install it for few employees just to test it out if you have the cash to burn ;-)

So far my experience in IT support with this so far is that it's only good if your employees use a few different programs and compatibility with printers is a big challenge. Citrix blames Microsoft. And the thin clients they recommend are extremely overpriced. 1000 for a Wyse laptop? Why not by a 200 - 300 dollar laptop and turn it into a citrix client?

Interesting concept, but in practice, it's too complex, too expensive and too slow ;)

When you do calculations about expenses, you're better off with a traditional desktop setup. If you don't have expensive, robust and rock solid network and multi CPU super expensive server the service will blow, and you still have to have "a device" per user, which is in practice a thin client desktop anyway. Don't see the point of this, except maybe when there is 1000+ branched desktops.

nope, citrix is not for the animation. This is only for the companies where they are ready to sacrifice performance for higher level of security and cheaper maintenance. You can basically run only couple application on it and that's it. Don't even expect to watch quality movies on it!! Besides why pay for Citrix licenses when Windows gives something similar for free.

This is the most worthless product I have ever encountered. What he's saying is use your outdated piece of crap computer to connect through the internet to a virtual computer running in part of a mainframe. This thing could only go as fast as your internet. So you would end up with a slow ass computer that has to constantly be sending and receiving information across the internet.

worthless? hmm, this product was not meant to be run over the internet, but on a company LAN or WAN. and besides, this will greatly reduce the time to set up a new desktop, and not to forget how easy it is to update and change apps. ohh and its a lot cheaper when you have a simple endpoint device at each workplace, instead of a complete desktop. if they can make this work as well as they say, this is the future IMO. It just makes everything so easy.

Beorn, Citrix is actually an excellent application, but if they had a bunch of retarded outsourced dotheads install it and not tweak it right, of course it will work like shit. I've been in IT for a long time and I can say that when Citrix is installed properly, it flies in terms of performance and you should not have any issues with slowness. Find out who was hired to install it and you will have your answer. Probably a bunch of Kumars and Pradipshits fresh off the boat from India.
