*sigh* It makes me really sad that I wasn't born in the 80's..that I couldn't go to his serious moonlight tour or any other ones..I would give ANYTHING to to see him in concert..just once..but I know that won't happen :'(
@rvphoto Earl Slick. He introduces him at the end of the video. It was supposed to have been Stevie Ray Vaughn on that tour, since he was his studio guitarist for the album he was supporting "Let's Dance," but there were problems with Vaughn's management. That would have been awesome to see live.
Incredible performance from a great tour. At Madison Square Garden, NYC, on the next song David slowly picked up the globe of the earth on his shoulders like Atlas then moved forward in mimed motion buckling under the weight of the earth tentatively moving to the edge of the stage. He then lifted the globe to full height and tossed it into the audience. You had to see the way he did it ... never forget it.

we went to the Philly spectrum in 1973 to see David Bowie and the spiders from mars. We were thinking we were going to see space oddity. We didn't the show sucked I wanted my money back. You never knew what you were going to get at a Bowie concert. So do not kick yourself in the butt to hard, chances are you would have seen a sucky concert.
He was singing stuff that never was made onto an albulm (thank god), belive me before his concert was done half the people left. You know Philly; it's a brutal town, exspecialy when it comes to sports or entertainment. The best concerts that I have seen at the spectrum was the Rolling Stones and John Mellencamp, I felt I did not pay enough to see them ;)
john mellencamp? are you serious? i never saw a concert at the spectrum unfortunately. the best concert i saw in philly was echo and the bunnymen at the electric factory. anyways, i think that is why i didnt go to see him a few years ago when NIN opened for him..i knew he was going to sing everything except the goodstuff..
Yea John was great!!!! gezzz what 35 years mean, actully we seen John around 88, he can perform, I seen Springsteen in 1979 at the stone pony, had a nice night of drinking :)
What about SRV how come none of the so called classic rock staions hardly play any Bowie. Slick is no slouch on guitar either. Not bad for some white guys, huh--he he he.
i agree i wish i could go back in time and go to one of these concerts, and one of the ziggy startdust concerts in the early 70's. Unfortunatly i wasn't even born then lol.
I find it odd he's performing this so soon after releasing Ashes to Ashes. Anyway, great performance (except for the guitarist who ruined the atmosphere).
Master video.... Sound, great performance! Thanks!

Gotta respectfully disagree...
Guitar worked for the setting (it wasn't an original 1970's show)
KanzlerM 4 years ago
True, but still... there was only one truely great guitarist with Bowie- Mick Ronson and he's the only one anybody remembers as being with bowie.
