Why is it that there is a check for $1,000,000 to anyone who can prove that anything like chi, ki, qi, or whatever you want to call it...exists and can be controlled, and NOBODY has ever been able to prove it????
If you say that the masters don't want the money, that's a crock of shit. They all charge money to teach aikido.
@mapache11 They charge money to teach Karate, Judo or any other martial art. That rent they pay for the dojo is not going to pay itself you know. And there is no aikido dojo that I know of that doesn't let you try two or three times for free to see if it's something for you.
And that cheque you're talking about is for the one that can prove things like telekinesis,
@IonicSnake ..some people have said that the masters don't want the money. They can donate it to any charity they wish. They don't have to keep it. In fact, they don't have to accept it at all. They could just prove under contolled conditions that they can control people by using chi, video it and show the world it is true. Yet the only people they can control are their own students. Why is that?
@mapache11 I think we are talking about different things here, Ki is not used to control anyone, it is used to teach you how to control your own mind and body. There is nothing supernatural about Ki, you could say you have Ki when you're in a relaxed but firm state. I practice aikido and I can tell you there is nothing fake about Ki, people just misunderstand it for some superpower of the mind. If someone wants to try and prove Ki to be something supernatural then that one wont be getting money
@IonicSnake ..the money is for anyone that can prove any type of special powers be they psychic, telepathy, telekinesis, anything. Controlling people without touching them. Putting out candles, etc WOULD quailfy for the money.
@IonicSnake ..there are people blowing out candles using "chi". There are people that are making other people fall down, jump backwards without touching them and otherwise look like puppets, using "chi" . There are people making it impossible for themselves to be pushed over by 4 or five others, using "chi". I say that it is a crock of shit. That there is no chance in hell that you can make me move around without touching me.
@IonicSnake ..okay. If you don't want Randi's money, take mine. I will give to you, or anyone else out there $10,000 USD if you can: make me fall down, move sideways or any do any other movement without touching me. I will add $10,000 if you can blow out a candle in my controlled test. Put up or shut up.
@mapache11 Did you even read my reply? I just said what Ki was and it's not what you're trying to make it look like, read my reply again until you get it, it have nothing to do with blowing out candles or controlling someone without touching them. What's wrong with you? I guess I should have known better than try to explain something in the youtube comment. Shit
But here, I'll say it again. Ki is not Chi or some psychic thing. Ki is when you're in a relaxed but firm state.
@IonicSnake ..Fine. Ki is when your body is in a relaxed state. Then there are an awful lot of people here claiming that they are using the wrong source of power when they control people and objects. They use the word "ki'. That is what the "ki"in aikido stands for isn't it?? Let me send you a couple of good videos to watch. Listen/look for the "ki"word.
@mapache11 ..chi and ki and qi are used interchangeably in many videos. Wg=hat is the difference between them?? I was told that it is just a matter of pronounciation since they are not English words.
@mapache11 Read what I said over and over until you get it, we say you have Ki (not Chi or whatever you think it is) when you are relaxed and firm, meaning your not tens or trying to use your muscles. This video shows that, he's relaxed but firm. Now stop trying to tell people to blow out candles or push someone without touching them. That's not Ki.
@IonicSnake ..here is a good one. This guy is MAGIC.
The video is called:
ki ,energy, dim mak , ninjutsu , chi , qi
He has blocked me from commenting anymore because I don't believe in his shit. Watch the video, actually he has at least two, and tell him yourself if you believe him. He uses ki, chi, or qi. Whichever way you want to spell it.
@mapache11 That's not Ki at all, at least not what we mean in aikido when we say Ki. I don't know what that guy is doing but it's certanly not aikido which is what I was comenting about in the first place. He's probably trying to show Psi balls (google that).
It have nothing to do with aikido or with Ki in aikido. It's sad to see people like him misuse the word Ki and then have aikido pay for it.
@IonicSnake ..he is not the only one here calling his magic force "chji, ki, or qi. There are dozens. Just look at how many videos use the words and how many involve some type of no touch control of people and objects. Or show how the person with the magic force cannot be moved by several people.
There seems to be a lot more heat in the comments than light. This clip is some basic ki testing, done rather fast. I've trained for nearly 15 years in main branch of Ki-Aikido (this seems to be an offshoot). For those that have trouble with the baggage that the term Ki has, use what it is actually called in Japanese, Shin Shin Toitsu Do, or Way of Mind and Body Coordination. coming from Yoga training of Tempu Nakamura originally. I'm a professional scientist, nothing supernatural here.
anyone who has training in aikido i am very interested in your views of aikido uses of internal energy
i have no martial arts training but i have a punching bag and can make myself heat up very rapidly using movements i constructed myself which helped me in the cold of winter as a kid
what i am interested in is how you stay balanced i have seen your ki testing and it intrigues me and reminds me of no mind training
if anyone would care to explain i offer no criticism and wish no body harm
Im still waiting to do all the "ki" tests (as much people call it, even fools like you) you want to try, but, I meaning Ki test, NOT FIGHTING TEST, if you someday understand that, maybe you will cease to be an stupid keyboard warrior.
You are clearly out of your very small, confused mind. You are the perfect example of a gaykido creduloid; stupid, deluded, and undereducated. I'm sure all the other gaykido fanboys here will enjoy hearing that gaykido includes punches/kicking as part of the philosophy and techniques according to you. This is also the first time you have agreed to conduct these ki tests. It will be great fun; you'll be ridiculed on youtube for all to see.
You have trained aikido in your life? You think yo "know" O Sensei? In which sources you base that? What experience or years of analitic effors allow you to claim that absurd, stupid bullshit?
No striking in aikido? oh fucking shit thats so funny!
You are the Fucking King of the Ignorants!
Please get a real martial formation and stop reading from internet, thats a waste o time, keyboard illuminati.
But you Blndrfist, I never retreat of test my practise:I just show my aikido as it is: a real martial method with different types of training, some more "strange" and some more realistic, and of course full of strikes and painful technics but nothing related with that philosophy shit you are writing about. I never wrote about my beliefs, you have taken for granted too many things and thats a huge mistake, you have to learn a lot about the real aikido thing.
violence? haha and going as far to spell my name wrong...
I agree. there are strange things in the martial arts world that just work. If you dont believe in them then you will never master unbelievable arts like that.
I said "no need for violence" cause I thought you were trying to make both us, me and Blndrfist to take it easy (for the provocations). I did not refer to you.
I dont believe in the popular concept of "ki" too. Occidental tradition has transform it in a mystical energy that is far from its real sense. Chinese studies has revealed that is related with the control of some corporal functions, as arterial pressure, muscular expansion, skin warming and more...
Wrong fucktard; the notion of "ch'i" or "qI' was discussed as a "life energy" or vital soul force as early as 450 BC. So no, it was not made the mystical notion it now is by "occidental tradition". Try again and get a fucking education fool.
I will be enchanted to know your iformation sources, in which studies you based that stupid affirmation, and, finally, if you have read at less one book about chinese medicine.
Who discuss about life energy? You? Your cousin? Walt Wiltman? Pedrito Castro? Show a CONCRETE reference, not wikipedia readings, ignorant.
In other words, you don't train aikido. o sensei the deranged prick who invented gaykido insisted on not including strikes/kicks within his "peaceful" art. You are either a believer in chi bullshit or an apologist; either way, you refuse to undergo a test of chi as displayed in this bullshit video. Wonder why? Probably because you mouth is greater than your faith.
An "empirical experience" of what? What the fuck are you claiming exists that will likely turn out not to? Just say it and how you define whatever it is.
The control of some biomechannical functions that start when "we are about to move". You must play with your own muscles sensations and find the one that make them get "inexorable expansion". It´s difficult to explain with words, better to live by yourself. In wich case, you should visit a correct Dojo.
I insist: don´t mean "extraordinary energies" or any kind of fantasies.
First of all try to show respect to the people you don´t know. I have not use sentences like "out of your fucking mind", I have trated you with respect.
Second, obviusly Im not going to create a dossier about such complicated here in a commentlist. I tell you since the beguinning that if you don´t believe something that, in the other hand, its not an "awesome" showing of people flying without contact, better go and trying, thats how the truth discover by itself, NOT WRITING IN INTERNET.
I show no respect for people who fall for cheap aikido frauds and preach aikido bullshit on the internet; none at all. You are about as fucking absurd and stupefied as they come, so you are deserving of nothing but insults. You're completely and entirely full of shit 100%. You need to have your fucking head examined you freak.
Well then we have nothing to discuss here, Mr. Keyboard warrior. I know how "fraud" my aikido is and how not, you dont know a shit about my practise, teacher or even knowledge, thus the situation is well defined and the nonsense ignorance have help one more time to not understand some simply logical human functions.
But now you come again with that magic based stuff and ultra powers shit and blah blah blah.
You've been spouting off nothing but pure bullshit. I know exactly what you claim to "know" and it's pathetic. You've been stupefied and mystified by an alleged "teacher" who is the source of your total bullshit. It's fail for you and gaykido all around. There is no "ki", there is no "control of biomechanical functions" or any of the other tripe you profess. Grow fucking up loser and live in reality; gaykido stinks.
Well then you should have no problem of come to my dojo or just a New York Aikikai federation one and probe here onto my face what you claim with words. Come on, test me when you want to, got balls Mr. Keyboard Warrior and make me see how "gay" my aikido is.
I will enjoy very much to show you how ignorance you are.
Let's see if you have balls Mr. New Age loser. Are you willing to sit through each and every one of these ki "tests". In those tests, I can use any technique I wish to bend your arms, pick you up, etc without punching/kicking or using any tools other than my body. Do you agree or are you just pure blustery bullshit?
Hahahaha too late to put conditions on the table, little boy.
I never wrote about "combat ki" or "how I fight with aikido", I have written all the time about simple body exercises to increase biomechanical coordination, but now is not time for education, you had your chance and now you are going to eat your words one by one, I wish you have the guts to come and let me make you eat your teeths too, but it seems that the little coward keyboard warrior prefer to hide through a pc screen.
Just as I thought; unwilling and unable to test your absurd beliefs. It's funny also how guys like you always want to fight yet never want to rely upon your aikido in the fight. You want to punch/kick, which is decidedly against the entire fucking ridiculous gaykido philosophy. Good job showing yourself for the hypocrit you are.
Actually, no; aikido "ki" losers are the ones who not only make fools of themselves but also fool themselves over and over again through delusion and gullibility. There is no such thing as "ki"; doesn't exist, never has, never will.
I dont necesarily believe in Ki. but how the hell would you know whether it exists or not?
you're just one man
you believe in what you see and hear.
You dont know anything for 100% because science is NOT 100% accurate. Saying Ki does not exists just because it has not been scientiffically proven(actually science does say there is something like energy and that it can be manipulated) does NOT mean it does not exist.
And you are an incredible fool. We can say "ki" doesn't exist because the mountain of physical evidence points to the simple fact that such a thing does not exist you fucking loser. And where in "science" is there mentioned "something like energy that can be manipulated"? What the fuck are you talking about? You are another witless turd who has fallen for oriental stupefication and mystification.
Hahaha what a mount of incredible shitting ignorance! I cant believe it! Still taken for granted a loooot of things. Still thinking in shit like "energy", and, of course, still insulting better than learning a little.
No we can't say shit. More importantly: YOU cant say shit. You dont even know what Ki is. Why would science be 100% accurate? If you really believe it is, you know nothing about science either.
You're saying bad stuff about things you dont know anything about. I surely hope you dont call yourself a martial artist for that would be a disgrace for the entire Martial world.
Oh and by the way: I dont believe in Ki, but I dont say it doessnt exist. Theres no way I could say that.
Yes of course I know O'Sensei he came round my house for tea today....what do you think 'Mr Angry', and yes I'm aware of the other names you just rattled off there, My Sensei trained directly under Chiba Sensei for 42 years, so I don't come from some 'Micky Mouse' club. You obviously have still not learn't one of the foundations of O'Sensei's teachings - The Destruction of One's Ego!!
42 years with Chiba Shihan? Tell me his name and I will check out that. Anyway, I ask for your training, not your teachers one.
Angry? Hahaha take it for granted you dont know me when I got "angry". Im veeery relaxed.
And sorry but that "anti-ego" shit dont work with me,Im not O Sensei so I dont have to be like he, I think for myself and Im very peaceful with who deserve it. Nothing related with the aiki-sheeps of love through atemi (so ironic...)
His name is Steve Beacham, I'll take it you'll give Chiba Shihan a call or maybe even arrange a meet up with him to verify this? Being as your such a well known and wise Aikido practitioner and all at just the age of 23, wow! that's some achievement!
Get your head out of your Ass mate!
P.S When you do call or meet up with Chiba Shihan why don't you tell him about your views on the 'Aiki-Sheeps of love through Atemi' and O'Sensei's 'pointless teachings', I'd love to hear/SEE his point of view.
Guys, guys! Take it easy. Mr. DanOMusic, first of all, who seriously gives a flying fuck if they have learned anything from O Sensei? And Aikinowaza, you shouldn't talk to other people like that - it's impolite. :-D
Btw, my interpretation of great Bushi spirit is that we accept (or ignore *~*) people who we find ignorant, and who we do not agree with. Best of cause would be to try and help such people, but if we don't do this in a positive way, we shouldn't do try at all ...
Sorry friend I do see your point to some degree, but 'who seriously gives a flying fuck if they have learned anything from O'Sensei?' I think most people around the globe who are dedicated to their Aikido would 'seriously give a flying fuck' that they HAVE and TRY to learn from the Founder of Aikido, O'Sensei.
:-D Sure, I too am very dedicated to my own training, however this is not Aikido, but Jiu-Jitsu, Taekwondo and Kobudo, and I can relate to your opinion. Still I respectfully disagree :-D
According to my own philosophy, global/social (whatever you wanna call it) can't take place, if we do not exceed our masters and teacher, and it is impossible to be better than someone if we only "copy" what they do. We constantly have to alter it at a certain level to achieve progress :-D
How can you 'exceed your Masters' if you do not understand the teachings they have primarily taught?
Surely to 'exceed' your Masters you should FULLY understand their teachings first - you should understand 'The Root' before you TRY to start to create your own branches.
Very well, you train with Steve Beacham and he is a great man, but now YOU get YOUR head out of the floor and face the discussion by yourself, I ask, again, for YOUR training. Its too easy to hide before others, but look at me Im claim in the name of nobody, I face the reality by myself. Im NOT part of a RELIGION, I drive my own life and decisions. You catch that, sheep?Do you think I do this for "fame", "Dan", or "being a Budha Illuminati". I do this for ME. You catch that, sheep?
Well we do have something incommon, because I do this for ME too. I'm also not part of a Religion, and i am also able and do think freely and drive my own life.
But I have the patience and respect to learn from others 'ie O'Sensei, Steve Beacham etc. who clearly know far,far more about Aikido than I most probably ever will do.
If I am one of the 'SHEEP' as you put it then MOST of the Aikido Community around the globe must of been doing this all wrong for quite sometime?
Learn about what? About think like they? Everyone has his own point of view, why somebody has to make his one the only and universal? Of course there are people that know more than us, but they know more about practice, not about ideologies, which are free and relative. But war is war for a child and for an adult, indepently of your philosophy.
Aikido community is not doing "wrong", is doing their own decision. My decision is my own path, like in Robert Frost's sentence. You catch it now?
I sure know what will any japanese shihan do if I have such insolence with him in HIS dojo, but out of that I say whatever I have to say, with respect of course, but thinking freely and not being a slave of aikido's dogma.
I dont want to be like Ueshiba, I want to be like ME doing aikido. No one can say me what I have to think out of a dojo. I do this for me and theres no truth beyond.
A 'slave to Aikido's dogma'?I think your confusing Aikido with Religion my friend.O'Sensei really must of done you a wrong doing(obviosly in a past life because your 23 years old)for you to have such disregard for the man.
Personally I think your a young lad full of alot of Anger and Ego,I'd imagine you'd be very difficult to teach anything to in the dojo, as you come across as someone who thinks that they know all and can't be taught no more.
No, all that Ueshiba & Shihan ass lickers are the only ones that confuse Aikido with religion. For me is clearly a martial method. MARTIAL, a word that some practitioners forget frecuently, get it?
Its to funny how you underestimated me because Im young.Knowledge is not property of the oldpeople.I have trained 2 daily hours since 7 years, and read/investigated about the history of many martial arts, not only Aikido.Technic its not perfect, but the meaning of "war" is sure clear as water.
Sorry I'm not 'underestimating' u because of your age, I too started martial arts from the age of 6, it was Karate, did some other things like Wing Chun and Mauy Thai over the years that followed until I found Aikido. 23 years of age is very young for Aikido. If I'm wrong about this then why are all the Shihans in their 50's at least (and these people train every day of their lives). Aikido is a long path which requires patience, it's nothing as fast paced as Karate, which I reached my Shodan in.
Of course is young for Aikido PRACTICE. But NOT for ideologies, which are very well defined in me, I can granted that to you. You have to starting to understand the difference between "do" and "think". Thinking is a very relative thing, doing is objetive, phisical. That fact not take a life to understand. Reflexion and reading of the correct books is enaugh.
And of course Im still learning a lot. Im not teacher and dont want to be a "master", I want to be myself, learning about practise and execution, not about being an alienate sheep that kiss the ass of everyone. I have my own philosophy cause I think by myself. Such difficult to you is to understand that?
I think you confuse respect and humility with slavery and humillation.
'Slavery and humiliation' wow! Never quite looked at Aikido that way!??
Of course Aikido has a 'MARTIAL' aspect to it, it comes from Daito Ryu Ju Jitsu & Kenjitsu both of which O'Sensei was well versed in, but it was O'Sensei's philosophical beliefs that turned them into Aikido. The whole idea of things having a peaceful outcome, this can still be done in a 'MARTIAL' way, ie instead of snapping your arm I can restrain, or cause you temporary pain.
Sorry to burst your 'Bubble' but this is what Aikido is, it's not JuJitsu a 2000 year old battle field art, they may share the same techniques but they have completely different ideologies. O'Sensei created Aikido, FACT - yes? So if you think it's all rubbish what he said and created why do you practice Aikido, because you are clearly at odds with what it truly is or you just don't understand it yet.
Hehehe, about he SAID, but not about he do, you understand yet? I practice Aikido because of my love to martial arts and to the aiki´s combat conception, specially (I also practice Aikijujutsu), but my ego is fine, I dont need to "destroy" it or "unificate it with the universe". "What - Aikido - truly is" refers to a concept (relative), not to a phisical fact (objetive). Someday, you will understand what the free thinking is...
I think you'll find what 'he did' was the very thing he 'created'. Aikido, and with out O'Sensei it would not exist. This man created something that is practiced the World over, That's what he did! That's an achievement!
Very respectable, but I disagree. You are confusing creation with creator. Ueshiba's life, religion (Omoto-Kyo) and martial point of view are only property of him. I cannot live his life, I live mine's, thus I think like me not like a peaceful, experienced warrior of the Omoto Kyo Sect at the age of 81.
Philosophy, again, is different to martial arts, even if they both come together in a 'pack'.
You said it: O Sensei´s philosophical beliefs. But not "John´s ones" or "Tom´s ones". Have every aikidoca to think like O Sensei? Cant I have my own personal beliefs and still being an aikido practitioner? You said it: the whole IDEA. Ideas are, again, relatives and free, everyone have his ones. "Destruction of the Ego" is an idea. That dont have nothing relative whith "arms" and " physical pain". "Think" is different to "do", remember it?
Yes, Yes, doubting yourself, no self belief etc. But on the on the flip side You could be perceived as Arrogant if your not sometimes humble enough to see a great thing before you. O'Sensei, Saito, Chiba, Aikido, Steve Beacham etc,etc are 'Great Things'.
We're else should I 'LEARN' my Aikido from then so I don't become part of 'Aikido's Dogma'? Youtube? Books? Online? Teach myself maybe??Get myself an imaginary Uke?
Sorry but I ever try to see the hard work of people. But this not mean that his work make them "Gods" with perfect ideologies that all of us, poor mortals, have to learn as unyielding laws.
Ideologies, again, are a matter of reflexion, of learn through reading and thinking. Are a subjetive fact. You become part of Aikido's Dogma since the moment you decide to take as unyielding laws the teachings of any aikidoca, master or not. Since the moment you stop to question the "truth".
Yes this is a nice quote, but Aikido and most other martial arts help you to break this illusion of 'Giants' by having confidence in YOURSELF and believing in YOURSELF only comes about when your able to stand up and THINK FOR YOURSELF. What you are saying that 'The Institution of Aikido' stops you thinking freely is complete rubbish!
How can you create your own branches of an Art (Aikido) when you clearly do not understand it's ROOT.
Example- Japanese Ju Jitsu - Brazillian Ju Jitsu (An Insult)
This is a contradiction. How are you gonna believe in yourself when you believe what an old man said you must believe? Thats the nonsense. I believe what I, through MY beliefs, determinate in my mind, not what another one established in his one. Thats the TRULY freedom of mind: to think like YOU decide. In the other hand, ANY institution stops the free thinking. Only the lone man has true possession of his beliefs, because he never take care of the flock. An institution is a FLOCK.
Theres no irony. You learn of who you want to. But that not make you BECOME the other. You simply "take" what are interesting for you, not the whole thing.
This show how there infinite ways to learn an infinite kind of "truths", not only the O Sensei's ones. Catch it?
You confuse, again, the "absolute imposition of beliefs", with the "creation of your own beliefs through experience".
"Already"? Theres no "already". Maybe tomorrow I think the opposite, but always under my own, personal criteria, not because somebody tell me is "The Only Universal Truth". Einstein was jewish. Are you gonna tell me that physic is "the way of the Tora"?
By the way, theres an old man called "The Pope" that think homosexuality is an illness, and that theres a thing named "Hell", and other named "Heaven", and a lot of absurd ideas. But, hey!, if he is old, he MUST be right, it isn't friends?
Sorry don't see your point. I know enough about religion in this case the Catholic church, too know that is an evil thing, this is why I CHOOSE NOT to worship it. You have no regard for the man that created Aikido, and we're not talking 100's of years ago here, yet YOU CHOOSE to practice Aikido.
Have you invented your own style of it?
If so what make's your style of Aikido so vastly different from that that O'Sensei created?
I mean enough of quotes and philosophical stuff, tell me straight.
Thats the difference: I choose to practice, not to worship. Practice is objetive, is physical, equal for everybody. But 'worship' is thinking, not physical, only a subjetive and thus a relative thing. Do you think there are no christians that make a difference with the christian dogma? Do you think that every of them believe in "hell" and "heaven"? But they are still "christians", dont you think? This point is what show the capacity of free election of people.
My own style? If you refer to an "orthodox school of Aikido", you are wrong. Since the beginning, I show clearly that I have no intention of create a flock, of being part of nothing but my own path. I walk this "alone" (dont confuse, I have a teacher, but Im not his sheep), when are you to understand that?
Well then, everyone can, finally, only practice by himself, thus everyone can only "do" his own style. You cannot be another person, you can only do as yourself.
Having respect for someone does not make you 'their sheep' but thinking that you are born with the ability to know better than everyone else without the need to learn makes you very arrogant.
Lets get this straight. You have chosen to study Aikido.Well as hard as it is for you to get your arrogant mind around it(no matter how evolved your style). You are learning from OSensei, as did your teachers and those that taught them.whether indirectly or directly.Sorry but OSensei created Aikido- FACT.If you seriously believe that you are not learning from OSensei you may want to take a good look at your stylebecause it may as well be Kung Fu!
With all my respect, Im starting to think that you are a little...retard...or maybe my english isnt clear enough, but I repeat and repeat that what Ueshiba do (P-R-A-C-T-I-C-E) not what he think as Omoto-Kyo follower is what I study in the dojo. I go there and train, but I dont sit around and start to talk about "peace in the world","shintoism", "ego stuff" or "how to be a Budha". J-U-S-T T-R-A-I-N-I-N-G.
Having respect not, but being a pet do it. If you are no able to question other people then you ever be slave of their affirmations, cause you never think in your mind if you agree with what they say, just speak "yes sir" and obey like a "good boy". To question reality is what make you free, not conformity.
Hahaha, you are confusing yourself very much. You should read a little deeply Nietzsche's work.
I USE quotes from I DECIDE is true for me, if it isnt, I immediately reject it. I read, think and, finally, decide if Im agree with the sentence. Thats different of simply believe in a philosopher cause is sooo beloved and he created an effective thing. The capacity of election is different of the imposition of beliefs.
So O'Sensei's teachings are 'not true'?? You know... O'Sensei created Aikido ...Then this whole Aikido 'thing' is just as waste of my time then?
Wow if only I'd met such an enlightened being as yourself years ago you could of saved me from all this wasted time, perhaps you should contact all the other millions of 'lost' Aikidoka around the globe and relieve them of their burden??
Ah...I never say that Aikido was a waste of time. I never say THE WHOLE teachings of O Sensei was false. You never understand?
Take your choose and then live your life as I do and stop looking at me as a messiah. I dont mind about the rest of aikidoca, I just live my fucking life!!
You are still seeing me as an arrogant when truly is you the one that have so weak ideologies that cant resist to question them.
You see me like a giant when the reality is that mi myself and you are a midget.
I've always thought of ki as "supple firmness." Nothing magical about it. It's just extension without tensing. If you tighten up, you give uke something to work with. Remain fluid, and uke cannot anticipate your moves as well.
ki is real. But yes, some ppl are desperate or ridiculous enough to believe everything they see, bbut on the other hand sum ppl, like the ones commenting here are so ignorant, enough as to say that others dont believe in science simply because they believe in something that science has not yet discovered, or may ever discover. Ki cannot be explained, it can only be felt. ridiculous ppl have reason for believing, and ignorant ppl try it out, dont just simply see and judge
Feelings are not methods of understanding the world. They are not tools of cognition. Claims for ki as in these videos seem to show definite physical effects. All physical effects and their causes can be measured. Claims for ki first need to undergo the scrutiny of scientific, repeatable testing (using skeptical subjects not cooperatives). In other words PROVE it if you want others to believe it.
1st: Proving is the way of science. There are people who don't choose science as their way of thinking. I'm not one of them but I accept their choice. 2nd: By reducing yourself to "science only" you dismiss half of your potential (that of the right half of your brain). Of course you do so - it's your right to choose if you use your full potential or half of it. 3rd: Why do you think everyone wants you to believe them. Some people just do what they do and don't care what others think.
Also there's a flaw in your logic: While reading your comment I smiled at one point. That's the physical thing you can measure. Using EEG or fMRI you could measure HOW I smiled. But you couldn't measure WHY I smiled. Even with the best technology available you couldn't find that out. MAYBE in MANY years you could be able to do so, but that's 1: science-fiction and 2: still shows my point that there are things even our best science can't measure right now - even so they are still real.
KI of course can be and one day will be (i hope:-))explained by science...but no matter what you believe in Ueshibas techniques and principes are working so as good as with muscle guys so as with scientist :-)
perhaps, from learning so much about science, we have become less in touch with our animal ancestors. How are animals so much stronger than humans? it cannot be brute force alone...
You're an idiot and concept of "chi" is different from every other oriental wack-job out there. Crawl back in your hole you credulous fucker; "chi" is a bullshit notion and you're a gullable fucktard.
Whatever dipshit. The only one confused here is you and your absurd notions of "chi" and claims that such things exist in reality. Give up the anime you fucking loser.
I just saw few of the shows of randi and I really don't trust that kind of things. And remember that there IS people who say they do ki and they don'T. they just want your money. But ki does exist or whatever you call it. There ARE some rare people who know it well and can use it like tabata sensei and they can teach it to people. + we don't do miracles, ANYONE can do it. It's in the power of any jerk out there if they honestly want to try.
I did not say I can walk on water, but yeah you can resist lifts by human people. it doesn'T work (well i don't tink it works) if you are lifted by a machine. moreover, for de million us thing, the fact that you would show off would make you unable to do that. to suceed you have to think about doing it...not about the million or the tv or w/e
I am in no way associated to any religion. I practiced Ki in the last 8-9 months. I participated to a ki aikido camp this weekend (we were 4 students(in a small island not even on the map)).
"Do you really believe that a man can alter the law of gravity and resist being lifted off the ground?"
nop. you can't alter gravity.
YES you can resist being lifted off the ground (my speciality along with inflexible arm)
feel free to msg me if you please, but all you can do is try it (luck required)
"YES you can resist being lifted off the ground (my speciality along with inflexible arm)"
If I understand you correctly that would be close to... um, a miracle, comparable to walking on water. Magicians perform stunts like this except that they don't claim it is real. Check out James Randi a professional magician and scientist (on youtube). He will seriously pay you a million US $ if you can truly do such miraculous things.
And why should I care of your ignorant opinions go and study science I hope one day the knowledge of biology or math will help you on the street. And always this MMA and why somone from MMA doesnt go to Hombu dojo and try some of the masters huh ? when ki is shit why O'sensei has never been defeated explain that smart guy. On age of 84 he could pawn 20 guys of MMA but why should I waste my breath on you...
People don't go to challenge the frauds at the "hombu" dojo because those frauds refuse all fights; the last thing they would want is to be pwned in front of their idiot students. Any story regarding o sensei should make people immediately suspect; o sensei did not have a fight record of anykind and throwing play acting students around does not count as fighting. Reality will help on the street; aikido will not.
Gozo Shioda sensei himself said once that aikido saved his life in a chinese pub and eversince he respects it. His words were also that aikido is not what it seems to be and a very few could understand it, he too didnt believed but when it saved his life he changed his mind. Most of the masters in hombu dojo are from samurai lineage I dont belive they will decline a challenge anyway. It is very easy to mock at the dead still O'sensei left something great behind him. It's just not for everyone.
You are really amusing. From your comment I find out that you have absolutely no knowledge of martial arts, as well as Japan people. Talking about this philosophy with somone like you is to talk about C++ programming with a man spent his life butchering pigs.
Everyone can talk about Ki. But who can really use it during a fight? Why MMA fighters dont try it? Hahahhahahha...If you can use KI in fighting, you can defeat anyone ( who can not).
mmmh..watch the part where the guy i'ts laying full body on the floor ,face up and the other guy tries to lift him off,..you know, Ki has to do with body, spirit and soul,..remember where are a trinity (kinda of)
body(dust to dust),mind(soul, 21 grams),and spirit(god given)..´science´still trying to understand these things, when science tries it fails(realm of body and mind)..many things tell by religion ,science can't understand, although we believe inthem and need further study inyrs to come.
Yes, religion makes up stories about things we don't yet understand and fools who would rather live in blissful ignorance accept simplistic explanations rather than seek real truth in reality.
"Doubt may not be a pleasant condition, but certainty is absurd" -Voltaire.
The tao or spirituality you speak of is about religion and that's ok. Mankind holds many religious beliefs all of which claim different things. Simply not believing in in one of them (taoism) does not make one ignorant. But you are missing the point which is: the stunts shown in vids like these are what reasonable people question. Do you really believe that a man can alter the law of gravity and resist being lifted off the ground? THAT is what is blissfully ignorant and absurd.
Chi exists I feel it every day. However, it has nothing to do with religion or a god. I can't be certain obviously, but I've no evidence to suggest anything supernatural. I'm sure science will unfold it eventually like it did with many other "spiritual" myths.
Feelings are not tools of cognition nor methods of understanding. Feelings tell you nothing except that you feel a certain way. The teachings of aikido ARE rooted in the it's founder's religious beliefs. Shintoism, Buhdism, Taoism or others I know not of. The concepts of internal energy (ki), projection (Dim Mak), meridians, chakra, etc. are surely derived from these beliefs.
First of all you moron, "science" is not trying to understand those things you mentioned. This is because you are assuming them to be true already. That is not how it works. Ki is bullshit fantasy; what you see in this video are mere tricks of physiology pawned off as something they are not.
mmmhh..hey ''moron'' have you ever read something beside the 'funnies' on the newspaper ?..books maybe?..have you watch tv?..even on t.v sometimes after the news there's a commentary about 'science' doing so and so, research to explain something...and no I'm not assuming anything ..but there's enough evidence that something is going on..sems to me you're all muscle..not enough brains..read ,cultivate yourself, "to dispise something,is easy ,better to understand it"
You imbecile; you're the one desperately in need of an actual education. There is NO scientific basis whatsoever for the notion of "ki" or "chi" or whatever other word you want to use to explain this bullshit notion. You're not interested in science; you choose to follow blind belief and, in doing so, are easily tricked by second rate con men so as aikido masters. Show us the "scientific" proof you allege or fuck off loser.
Kirlian photography, easy enough, then if its not enough, then try the military brainwave test of various alpha to delta sequences. Aura Photos are even so common and MRI, well, nuff said. Go out and learn boy.. My father is army physician, specialist, you should see what he can do to people with scientific methods, and i am not talking about the ordinary things human usually do.
Ok dipshit; what is seen in Kirilian photography is know as the corona effect. Look it up; it is not evidence of any soul, chi, whatever. There are no aura photos, none. Each and every one of these things are either due to error or some other intervening physical factor. You are a grade A lunatic. Go back to your cartoons and comic books weirdo.
ki is technically real, however this application of it is ridiculous. these ki "masters" would get their rear ends handed to them by anyone off the street. It is simply brain washing that will give students a false since of security in any fight.
Why is it that there is a check for $1,000,000 to anyone who can prove that anything like chi, ki, qi, or whatever you want to call it...exists and can be controlled, and NOBODY has ever been able to prove it????
If you say that the masters don't want the money, that's a crock of shit. They all charge money to teach aikido.
mapache11 1 year ago
@mapache11 They charge money to teach Karate, Judo or any other martial art. That rent they pay for the dojo is not going to pay itself you know. And there is no aikido dojo that I know of that doesn't let you try two or three times for free to see if it's something for you.
And that cheque you're talking about is for the one that can prove things like telekinesis,
IonicSnake 1 year ago
@IonicSnake ..some people have said that the masters don't want the money. They can donate it to any charity they wish. They don't have to keep it. In fact, they don't have to accept it at all. They could just prove under contolled conditions that they can control people by using chi, video it and show the world it is true. Yet the only people they can control are their own students. Why is that?
mapache11 1 year ago

Putting out candles, etc WOULD quailfy for the money.
mapache11 1 year ago
@mapache11 Ki is neither of those things and anyone who practice aikido knows it.
IonicSnake 1 year ago
@IonicSnake ..there are people blowing out candles using "chi". There are people that are making other people fall down, jump backwards without touching them and otherwise look like puppets, using "chi" . There are people making it impossible for themselves to be pushed over by 4 or five others, using "chi". I say that it is a crock of shit. That there is no chance in hell that you can make me move around without touching me.
mapache11 1 year ago
@IonicSnake ..okay. If you don't want Randi's money, take mine. I will give to you, or anyone else out there $10,000 USD if you can: make me fall down, move sideways or any do any other movement without touching me. I will add $10,000 if you can blow out a candle in my controlled test. Put up or shut up.
mapache11 1 year ago
@mapache11 Did you even read my reply? I just said what Ki was and it's not what you're trying to make it look like, read my reply again until you get it, it have nothing to do with blowing out candles or controlling someone without touching them. What's wrong with you? I guess I should have known better than try to explain something in the youtube comment. Shit
But here, I'll say it again. Ki is not Chi or some psychic thing. Ki is when you're in a relaxed but firm state.
IonicSnake 1 year ago
@IonicSnake ..Fine. Ki is when your body is in a relaxed state. Then there are an awful lot of people here claiming that they are using the wrong source of power when they control people and objects. They use the word "ki'. That is what the "ki"in aikido stands for isn't it?? Let me send you a couple of good videos to watch. Listen/look for the "ki"word.
mapache11 1 year ago
@mapache11 ..chi and ki and qi are used interchangeably in many videos. Wg=hat is the difference between them?? I was told that it is just a matter of pronounciation since they are not English words.
mapache11 1 year ago
@mapache11 Read what I said over and over until you get it, we say you have Ki (not Chi or whatever you think it is) when you are relaxed and firm, meaning your not tens or trying to use your muscles. This video shows that, he's relaxed but firm. Now stop trying to tell people to blow out candles or push someone without touching them. That's not Ki.
IonicSnake 1 year ago

IonicSnake 1 year ago

Thats all your ammo? Thats all you can give?
Hahaha good luck being an internet superhero little man, I have waste a very funny time with you!
Aikinowaza 2 years ago
Ah one thing more:
Im still waiting to do all the "ki" tests (as much people call it, even fools like you) you want to try, but, I meaning Ki test, NOT FIGHTING TEST, if you someday understand that, maybe you will cease to be an stupid keyboard warrior.
Aikinowaza 2 years ago
You are clearly out of your very small, confused mind. You are the perfect example of a gaykido creduloid; stupid, deluded, and undereducated. I'm sure all the other gaykido fanboys here will enjoy hearing that gaykido includes punches/kicking as part of the philosophy and techniques according to you. This is also the first time you have agreed to conduct these ki tests. It will be great fun; you'll be ridiculed on youtube for all to see.
Blndrfist 2 years ago
You have trained aikido in your life? You think yo "know" O Sensei? In which sources you base that? What experience or years of analitic effors allow you to claim that absurd, stupid bullshit?
No striking in aikido? oh fucking shit thats so funny!
You are the Fucking King of the Ignorants!
Please get a real martial formation and stop reading from internet, thats a waste o time, keyboard illuminati.
Aikinowaza 2 years ago 2
Ok, no need for violence, lordstains.
Aikinowaza 2 years ago
violence? haha and going as far to spell my name wrong...
I agree. there are strange things in the martial arts world that just work. If you dont believe in them then you will never master unbelievable arts like that.
lordtains 2 years ago
Sorry for the bad spelling.
Aikinowaza 2 years ago
Wrong fucktard; the notion of "ch'i" or "qI' was discussed as a "life energy" or vital soul force as early as 450 BC. So no, it was not made the mystical notion it now is by "occidental tradition". Try again and get a fucking education fool.
Blndrfist 2 years ago
Hahaha here he comes again!
You are still soooo confused ;)
Aikinowaza 2 years ago
In other words, you don't train aikido. o sensei the deranged prick who invented gaykido insisted on not including strikes/kicks within his "peaceful" art. You are either a believer in chi bullshit or an apologist; either way, you refuse to undergo a test of chi as displayed in this bullshit video. Wonder why? Probably because you mouth is greater than your faith.
Blndrfist 2 years ago
good , very legit , what dan test is this?

I repeat:
It´s a scientistic fact and I can probe it personally to all who wanted for.
No extraordinary powers, auras, waves or anything related with popular superstitions.
Aikinowaza 2 years ago
What is "scientific fact"?
Blndrfist 2 years ago
An empirical experience, something you can test by yourself.
Aikinowaza 2 years ago
An "empirical experience" of what? What the fuck are you claiming exists that will likely turn out not to? Just say it and how you define whatever it is.
Blndrfist 2 years ago
The control of some biomechannical functions that start when "we are about to move". You must play with your own muscles sensations and find the one that make them get "inexorable expansion". It´s difficult to explain with words, better to live by yourself. In wich case, you should visit a correct Dojo.
I insist: don´t mean "extraordinary energies" or any kind of fantasies.
Pure control of your own body.
Aikinowaza 2 years ago
It's difficult to explain in words because it's 100% pure, unadulterated bullshit. You're out of your fucking mind.
Blndrfist 2 years ago

Blndrfist 2 years ago
Well then we have nothing to discuss here, Mr. Keyboard warrior. I know how "fraud" my aikido is and how not, you dont know a shit about my practise, teacher or even knowledge, thus the situation is well defined and the nonsense ignorance have help one more time to not understand some simply logical human functions.
But now you come again with that magic based stuff and ultra powers shit and blah blah blah.
All its said yet.
Aikinowaza 2 years ago
You've been spouting off nothing but pure bullshit. I know exactly what you claim to "know" and it's pathetic. You've been stupefied and mystified by an alleged "teacher" who is the source of your total bullshit. It's fail for you and gaykido all around. There is no "ki", there is no "control of biomechanical functions" or any of the other tripe you profess. Grow fucking up loser and live in reality; gaykido stinks.
Blndrfist 2 years ago
Well then you should have no problem of come to my dojo or just a New York Aikikai federation one and probe here onto my face what you claim with words. Come on, test me when you want to, got balls Mr. Keyboard Warrior and make me see how "gay" my aikido is.
I will enjoy very much to show you how ignorance you are.
Im waiting.
Aikinowaza 2 years ago
Let's see if you have balls Mr. New Age loser. Are you willing to sit through each and every one of these ki "tests". In those tests, I can use any technique I wish to bend your arms, pick you up, etc without punching/kicking or using any tools other than my body. Do you agree or are you just pure blustery bullshit?
Blndrfist 2 years ago
Hahahaha too late to put conditions on the table, little boy.
I never wrote about "combat ki" or "how I fight with aikido", I have written all the time about simple body exercises to increase biomechanical coordination, but now is not time for education, you had your chance and now you are going to eat your words one by one, I wish you have the guts to come and let me make you eat your teeths too, but it seems that the little coward keyboard warrior prefer to hide through a pc screen.
Aikinowaza 2 years ago
Just as I thought; unwilling and unable to test your absurd beliefs. It's funny also how guys like you always want to fight yet never want to rely upon your aikido in the fight. You want to punch/kick, which is decidedly against the entire fucking ridiculous gaykido philosophy. Good job showing yourself for the hypocrit you are.
Blndrfist 2 years ago
Please gentlemen You are both making fools out of yourself...
I hope you dont call yourselves martial artists.
lordtains 2 years ago
Actually, no; aikido "ki" losers are the ones who not only make fools of themselves but also fool themselves over and over again through delusion and gullibility. There is no such thing as "ki"; doesn't exist, never has, never will.
Blndrfist 2 years ago
I dont necesarily believe in Ki. but how the hell would you know whether it exists or not?
you're just one man
you believe in what you see and hear.
You dont know anything for 100% because science is NOT 100% accurate. Saying Ki does not exists just because it has not been scientiffically proven(actually science does say there is something like energy and that it can be manipulated) does NOT mean it does not exist.
youre just ONE man, you dont know anything
humans are just too simple for that.
lordtains 2 years ago
And you are an incredible fool. We can say "ki" doesn't exist because the mountain of physical evidence points to the simple fact that such a thing does not exist you fucking loser. And where in "science" is there mentioned "something like energy that can be manipulated"? What the fuck are you talking about? You are another witless turd who has fallen for oriental stupefication and mystification.
Blndrfist 2 years ago
Hahaha what a mount of incredible shitting ignorance! I cant believe it! Still taken for granted a loooot of things. Still thinking in shit like "energy", and, of course, still insulting better than learning a little.
Hahaha a very funny nonsense sceptic!
Aikinowaza 2 years ago
No we can't say shit. More importantly: YOU cant say shit. You dont even know what Ki is. Why would science be 100% accurate? If you really believe it is, you know nothing about science either.
You're saying bad stuff about things you dont know anything about. I surely hope you dont call yourself a martial artist for that would be a disgrace for the entire Martial world.
Oh and by the way: I dont believe in Ki, but I dont say it doessnt exist. Theres no way I could say that.

Call yourself an Aikido practitioner? You obviously know or have learnt nothing from the Founder, O'Sensei.
DanOMusicLover 2 years ago
Ah so you know Ueshiba Morihei directly, dont you? You have training with him, and talk face to face, etc, etc?
Tell me, "Founders Boy", which experience let you claim that, through what knowledge you say "O Sensei teach this" or "Aikido is bla bla bla".
Have you ever heard about Saito Sensei, Daito Ryu Aikijujutsu, Kazuo Chiba Shihan, Budo, Stanley Pranin, Toby Threadgill, Budo, etc, etc?
Aikinowaza 2 years ago
Yes of course I know O'Sensei he came round my house for tea today....what do you think 'Mr Angry', and yes I'm aware of the other names you just rattled off there, My Sensei trained directly under Chiba Sensei for 42 years, so I don't come from some 'Micky Mouse' club. You obviously have still not learn't one of the foundations of O'Sensei's teachings - The Destruction of One's Ego!!
Aikido - 'The Way of Harmony with Ki'
Peace.
DanOMusicLover 2 years ago
42 years with Chiba Shihan? Tell me his name and I will check out that. Anyway, I ask for your training, not your teachers one.
Angry? Hahaha take it for granted you dont know me when I got "angry". Im veeery relaxed.
And sorry but that "anti-ego" shit dont work with me,Im not O Sensei so I dont have to be like he, I think for myself and Im very peaceful with who deserve it. Nothing related with the aiki-sheeps of love through atemi (so ironic...)
Aikinowaza 2 years ago
His name is Steve Beacham, I'll take it you'll give Chiba Shihan a call or maybe even arrange a meet up with him to verify this? Being as your such a well known and wise Aikido practitioner and all at just the age of 23, wow! that's some achievement!
Get your head out of your Ass mate!
P.S When you do call or meet up with Chiba Shihan why don't you tell him about your views on the 'Aiki-Sheeps of love through Atemi' and O'Sensei's 'pointless teachings', I'd love to hear/SEE his point of view.
DanOMusicLover 2 years ago
Peace out ..
47SenseiHitman 2 years ago
Sorry friend I do see your point to some degree, but 'who seriously gives a flying fuck if they have learned anything from O'Sensei?' I think most people around the globe who are dedicated to their Aikido would 'seriously give a flying fuck' that they HAVE and TRY to learn from the Founder of Aikido, O'Sensei.
DanOMusicLover 2 years ago
:-D Sure, I too am very dedicated to my own training, however this is not Aikido, but Jiu-Jitsu, Taekwondo and Kobudo, and I can relate to your opinion. Still I respectfully disagree :-D
According to my own philosophy, global/social (whatever you wanna call it) can't take place, if we do not exceed our masters and teacher, and it is impossible to be better than someone if we only "copy" what they do. We constantly have to alter it at a certain level to achieve progress :-D
47SenseiHitman 2 years ago
****global/social (whatever you wanna call it) progress ....

Surely to 'exceed' your Masters you should FULLY understand their teachings first - you should understand 'The Root' before you TRY to start to create your own branches.

True ;-)

Sorry, man, but I didnt be the first impolite here.
I think they come like talibans, trying to kill the "heresy".
However, its good that you call to cease the fire.
Aikinowaza 2 years ago
Very well, you train with Steve Beacham and he is a great man, but now YOU get YOUR head out of the floor and face the discussion by yourself, I ask, again, for YOUR training. Its too easy to hide before others, but look at me Im claim in the name of nobody, I face the reality by myself. Im NOT part of a RELIGION, I drive my own life and decisions. You catch that, sheep?Do you think I do this for "fame", "Dan", or "being a Budha Illuminati". I do this for ME. You catch that, sheep?
Aikinowaza 2 years ago

Aikinowaza 2 years ago
For last:
I sure know what will any japanese shihan do if I have such insolence with him in HIS dojo, but out of that I say whatever I have to say, with respect of course, but thinking freely and not being a slave of aikido's dogma.
I dont want to be like Ueshiba, I want to be like ME doing aikido. No one can say me what I have to think out of a dojo. I do this for me and theres no truth beyond.
Now, yes,
"peace".
Aikinowaza 2 years ago
A 'slave to Aikido's dogma'?I think your confusing Aikido with Religion my friend.O'Sensei really must of done you a wrong doing(obviosly in a past life because your 23 years old)for you to have such disregard for the man.
Personally I think your a young lad full of alot of Anger and Ego,I'd imagine you'd be very difficult to teach anything to in the dojo, as you come across as someone who thinks that they know all and can't be taught no more.
This is the point when you STOP LEARNING.
DanOMusicLover 2 years ago
No, all that Ueshiba & Shihan ass lickers are the only ones that confuse Aikido with religion. For me is clearly a martial method. MARTIAL, a word that some practitioners forget frecuently, get it?
Its to funny how you underestimated me because Im young.Knowledge is not property of the oldpeople.I have trained 2 daily hours since 7 years, and read/investigated about the history of many martial arts, not only Aikido.Technic its not perfect, but the meaning of "war" is sure clear as water.
Aikinowaza 2 years ago
Sorry I'm not 'underestimating' u because of your age, I too started martial arts from the age of 6, it was Karate, did some other things like Wing Chun and Mauy Thai over the years that followed until I found Aikido. 23 years of age is very young for Aikido. If I'm wrong about this then why are all the Shihans in their 50's at least (and these people train every day of their lives). Aikido is a long path which requires patience, it's nothing as fast paced as Karate, which I reached my Shodan in.
DanOMusicLover 2 years ago
Of course is young for Aikido PRACTICE. But NOT for ideologies, which are very well defined in me, I can granted that to you. You have to starting to understand the difference between "do" and "think". Thinking is a very relative thing, doing is objetive, phisical. That fact not take a life to understand. Reflexion and reading of the correct books is enaugh.
Aikinowaza 2 years ago
And of course Im still learning a lot. Im not teacher and dont want to be a "master", I want to be myself, learning about practise and execution, not about being an alienate sheep that kiss the ass of everyone. I have my own philosophy cause I think by myself. Such difficult to you is to understand that?
I think you confuse respect and humility with slavery and humillation.
Aikinowaza 2 years ago
'Slavery and humiliation' wow! Never quite looked at Aikido that way!??
Of course Aikido has a 'MARTIAL' aspect to it, it comes from Daito Ryu Ju Jitsu & Kenjitsu both of which O'Sensei was well versed in, but it was O'Sensei's philosophical beliefs that turned them into Aikido. The whole idea of things having a peaceful outcome, this can still be done in a 'MARTIAL' way, ie instead of snapping your arm I can restrain, or cause you temporary pain.
DanOMusicLover 2 years ago
Sorry to burst your 'Bubble' but this is what Aikido is, it's not JuJitsu a 2000 year old battle field art, they may share the same techniques but they have completely different ideologies. O'Sensei created Aikido, FACT - yes? So if you think it's all rubbish what he said and created why do you practice Aikido, because you are clearly at odds with what it truly is or you just don't understand it yet.
DanOMusicLover 2 years ago
Hehehe, about he SAID, but not about he do, you understand yet? I practice Aikido because of my love to martial arts and to the aiki´s combat conception, specially (I also practice Aikijujutsu), but my ego is fine, I dont need to "destroy" it or "unificate it with the universe". "What - Aikido - truly is" refers to a concept (relative), not to a phisical fact (objetive). Someday, you will understand what the free thinking is...
;)
Aikinowaza 2 years ago
I think you'll find what 'he did' was the very thing he 'created'. Aikido, and with out O'Sensei it would not exist. This man created something that is practiced the World over, That's what he did! That's an achievement!
DanOMusicLover 2 years ago
Thats your opinion, not mine.
Aikinowaza 2 years ago
You said it: O Sensei´s philosophical beliefs. But not "John´s ones" or "Tom´s ones". Have every aikidoca to think like O Sensei? Cant I have my own personal beliefs and still being an aikido practitioner? You said it: the whole IDEA. Ideas are, again, relatives and free, everyone have his ones. "Destruction of the Ego" is an idea. That dont have nothing relative whith "arms" and " physical pain". "Think" is different to "do", remember it?
Aikinowaza 2 years ago
Sounds like Arrogance to me
DanOMusicLover 2 years ago
And this sounds like confusion to me.
"When you see another person like a giant, is because of you see yourself like a midget."
Friedrich Nietzsche.
Aikinowaza 2 years ago
Yes, Yes, doubting yourself, no self belief etc. But on the on the flip side You could be perceived as Arrogant if your not sometimes humble enough to see a great thing before you. O'Sensei, Saito, Chiba, Aikido, Steve Beacham etc,etc are 'Great Things'.
We're else should I 'LEARN' my Aikido from then so I don't become part of 'Aikido's Dogma'? Youtube? Books? Online? Teach myself maybe??Get myself an imaginary Uke?
Sorry but you make no sense.
DanOMusicLover 2 years ago
Sorry but I ever try to see the hard work of people. But this not mean that his work make them "Gods" with perfect ideologies that all of us, poor mortals, have to learn as unyielding laws.
Ideologies, again, are a matter of reflexion, of learn through reading and thinking. Are a subjetive fact. You become part of Aikido's Dogma since the moment you decide to take as unyielding laws the teachings of any aikidoca, master or not. Since the moment you stop to question the "truth".
Aikinowaza 2 years ago
Yes this is a nice quote, but Aikido and most other martial arts help you to break this illusion of 'Giants' by having confidence in YOURSELF and believing in YOURSELF only comes about when your able to stand up and THINK FOR YOURSELF. What you are saying that 'The Institution of Aikido' stops you thinking freely is complete rubbish!
How can you create your own branches of an Art (Aikido) when you clearly do not understand it's ROOT.
Example- Japanese Ju Jitsu - Brazillian Ju Jitsu (An Insult)
DanOMusicLover 2 years ago
This is a contradiction. How are you gonna believe in yourself when you believe what an old man said you must believe? Thats the nonsense. I believe what I, through MY beliefs, determinate in my mind, not what another one established in his one. Thats the TRULY freedom of mind: to think like YOU decide. In the other hand, ANY institution stops the free thinking. Only the lone man has true possession of his beliefs, because he never take care of the flock. An institution is a FLOCK.
Aikinowaza 2 years ago
P.S If you can think for yourself so much why do you keep using quotes from other people??
DanOMusicLover 2 years ago
Does this mean that you yourself learn/gain Knowledge from others experience/s?
How ironic.
DanOMusicLover 2 years ago
Does this mean that you yourself learns/gains knowledge from others experiences??
How ironic.
DanOMusicLover 2 years ago
Theres no irony. You learn of who you want to. But that not make you BECOME the other. You simply "take" what are interesting for you, not the whole thing.
This show how there infinite ways to learn an infinite kind of "truths", not only the O Sensei's ones. Catch it?
You confuse, again, the "absolute imposition of beliefs", with the "creation of your own beliefs through experience".
Aikinowaza 2 years ago
So at 23 years of age you have already learnt, understood all, and filtered out what you don't need of O'Sensei's teachings?
Wow! I'm impressed!
Have you done this for Einstein yet?
DanOMusicLover 2 years ago
Aikinowaza 2 years ago
Sorry don't see your point. I know enough about religion in this case the Catholic church, too know that is an evil thing, this is why I CHOOSE NOT to worship it. You have no regard for the man that created Aikido, and we're not talking 100's of years ago here, yet YOU CHOOSE to practice Aikido.
Have you invented your own style of it?
If so what make's your style of Aikido so vastly different from that that O'Sensei created?
I mean enough of quotes and philosophical stuff, tell me straight.
DanOMusicLover 2 years ago
Thats the difference: I choose to practice, not to worship. Practice is objetive, is physical, equal for everybody. But 'worship' is thinking, not physical, only a subjetive and thus a relative thing. Do you think there are no christians that make a difference with the christian dogma? Do you think that every of them believe in "hell" and "heaven"? But they are still "christians", dont you think? This point is what show the capacity of free election of people.
Aikinowaza 2 years ago
My own style? If you refer to an "orthodox school of Aikido", you are wrong. Since the beginning, I show clearly that I have no intention of create a flock, of being part of nothing but my own path. I walk this "alone" (dont confuse, I have a teacher, but Im not his sheep), when are you to understand that?
Well then, everyone can, finally, only practice by himself, thus everyone can only "do" his own style. You cannot be another person, you can only do as yourself.
Aikinowaza 2 years ago
Having respect for someone does not make you 'their sheep' but thinking that you are born with the ability to know better than everyone else without the need to learn makes you very arrogant.
DanOMusicLover 2 years ago
Lets get this straight. You have chosen to study Aikido.Well as hard as it is for you to get your arrogant mind around it(no matter how evolved your style). You are learning from OSensei, as did your teachers and those that taught them.whether indirectly or directly.Sorry but OSensei created Aikido- FACT.If you seriously believe that you are not learning from OSensei you may want to take a good look at your stylebecause it may as well be Kung Fu!
DanOMusicLover 2 years ago
With all my respect, Im starting to think that you are a little...retard...or maybe my english isnt clear enough, but I repeat and repeat that what Ueshiba do (P-R-A-C-T-I-C-E) not what he think as Omoto-Kyo follower is what I study in the dojo. I go there and train, but I dont sit around and start to talk about "peace in the world","shintoism", "ego stuff" or "how to be a Budha". J-U-S-T T-R-A-I-N-I-N-G.
Aikinowaza 2 years ago 2
Having respect not, but being a pet do it. If you are no able to question other people then you ever be slave of their affirmations, cause you never think in your mind if you agree with what they say, just speak "yes sir" and obey like a "good boy". To question reality is what make you free, not conformity.
Aikinowaza 2 years ago
Hahaha, you are confusing yourself very much. You should read a little deeply Nietzsche's work.
I USE quotes from I DECIDE is true for me, if it isnt, I immediately reject it. I read, think and, finally, decide if Im agree with the sentence. Thats different of simply believe in a philosopher cause is sooo beloved and he created an effective thing. The capacity of election is different of the imposition of beliefs.
Aikinowaza 2 years ago
So O'Sensei's teachings are 'not true'?? You know... O'Sensei created Aikido ...Then this whole Aikido 'thing' is just as waste of my time then?
Wow if only I'd met such an enlightened being as yourself years ago you could of saved me from all this wasted time, perhaps you should contact all the other millions of 'lost' Aikidoka around the globe and relieve them of their burden??
Arrogance and full of shit! Spring to mind
DanOMusicLover 2 years ago

Ki is real in the same way as lightning is real. And in the same way it can be explained by science and not by Zeus or magic.
Hotora86 3 years ago
Ki in martial arts has little to do with scientific truth. The fact is most practitioners don't care.
The ancients devised ways of understanding the world which had practical applications. Ki is an example. Is there a biological explanation?
There's probably a number of things happening.
But what does the martial artist need to know?
That it works. Whether or not there's any physicality to it is not his concern.
And yes, it does work.

ki is real. But yes, some ppl are desperate or ridiculous enough to believe everything they see, bbut on the other hand sum ppl, like the ones commenting here are so ignorant, enough as to say that others dont believe in science simply because they believe in something that science has not yet discovered, or may ever discover. Ki cannot be explained, it can only be felt. ridiculous ppl have reason for believing, and ignorant ppl try it out, dont just simply see and judge
qiboi 3 years ago
Feelings are not methods of understanding the world. They are not tools of cognition. Claims for ki as in these videos seem to show definite physical effects. All physical effects and their causes can be measured. Claims for ki first need to undergo the scrutiny of scientific, repeatable testing (using skeptical subjects not cooperatives). In other words PROVE it if you want others to believe it.
sweetsweatyfeet 3 years ago
1st: Proving is the way of science. There are people who don't choose science as their way of thinking. I'm not one of them but I accept their choice. 2nd: By reducing yourself to "science only" you dismiss half of your potential (that of the right half of your brain). Of course you do so - it's your right to choose if you use your full potential or half of it. 3rd: Why do you think everyone wants you to believe them. Some people just do what they do and don't care what others think.
blackicede 3 years ago
Also there's a flaw in your logic: While reading your comment I smiled at one point. That's the physical thing you can measure. Using EEG or fMRI you could measure HOW I smiled. But you couldn't measure WHY I smiled. Even with the best technology available you couldn't find that out. MAYBE in MANY years you could be able to do so, but that's 1: science-fiction and 2: still shows my point that there are things even our best science can't measure right now - even so they are still real.
blackicede 3 years ago
blackicede your comment--naked truth :-)
KI of course can be and one day will be (i hope:-))explained by science...but no matter what you believe in Ueshibas techniques and principes are working so as good as with muscle guys so as with scientist :-)

Lots of people are missing the point.
Ki is not an energy that can be detected or not detected by science in the way that Chi has been viewed (in the West).
Ki is just training your body to work differently from normal and achieving an effect that goes against the normal idea of what a person can do.
There is no magic or special energy and anyone can do it you just need the training.
Aiki(do/jujutsu) use this training in a martial situation, simple.

On age of 84 he could pawn 20 guys of MMA but why should I waste my breath on you...
sunreaper2 3 years ago
People don't go to challenge the frauds at the "hombu" dojo because those frauds refuse all fights; the last thing they would want is to be pwned in front of their idiot students. Any story regarding o sensei should make people immediately suspect; o sensei did not have a fight record of anykind and throwing play acting students around does not count as fighting. Reality will help on the street; aikido will not.
Blndrfist 3 years ago
Gozo Shioda sensei himself said once that aikido saved his life in a chinese pub and eversince he respects it. His words were also that aikido is not what it seems to be and a very few could understand it, he too didnt believed but when it saved his life he changed his mind. Most of the masters in hombu dojo are from samurai lineage I dont belive they will decline a challenge anyway. It is very easy to mock at the dead still O'sensei left something great behind him. It's just not for everyone.

mmmh..watch the part where the guy i'ts laying full body on the floor ,face up and the other guy tries to lift him off,..you know, Ki has to do with body, spirit and soul,..remember where are a trinity (kinda of)
body(dust to dust),mind(soul, 21 grams),and spirit(god given)..´science´still trying to understand these things, when science tries it fails(realm of body and mind)..many things tell by religion ,science can't understand, although we believe inthem and need further study inyrs to come.
AQUARIO07 3 years ago
Yes, religion makes up stories about things we don't yet understand and fools who would rather live in blissful ignorance accept simplistic explanations rather than seek real truth in reality.
"Doubt may not be a pleasant condition, but certainty is absurd" -Voltaire.
BattousaiOfChaos 3 years ago
Your assumption that the spirituality behind Aikido (Taoism) is a story is a blissful ignorance, of which you seem quite certain (and absurdly so).
noahvstheundead 3 years ago
The tao or spirituality you speak of is about religion and that's ok. Mankind holds many religious beliefs all of which claim different things. Simply not believing in in one of them (taoism) does not make one ignorant. But you are missing the point which is: the stunts shown in vids like these are what reasonable people question. Do you really believe that a man can alter the law of gravity and resist being lifted off the ground? THAT is what is blissfully ignorant and absurd.
sweetsweatyfeet 3 years ago
Chi exists I feel it every day. However, it has nothing to do with religion or a god. I can't be certain obviously, but I've no evidence to suggest anything supernatural. I'm sure science will unfold it eventually like it did with many other "spiritual" myths.
BattousaiOfChaos 3 years ago
Feelings are not tools of cognition nor methods of understanding. Feelings tell you nothing except that you feel a certain way. The teachings of aikido ARE rooted in the it's founder's religious beliefs. Shintoism, Buhdism, Taoism or others I know not of. The concepts of internal energy (ki), projection (Dim Mak), meridians, chakra, etc. are surely derived from these beliefs.
sweetsweatyfeet 3 years ago
No, if they are corelated in any way, its the other way around.

First of all you moron, "science" is not trying to understand those things you mentioned. This is because you are assuming them to be true already. That is not how it works. Ki is bullshit fantasy; what you see in this video are mere tricks of physiology pawned off as something they are not.
