@WotWOfficial I don't know about this pedal, but earlier today I played the corona at elderly. I played it with the Boss Super Chorus and Chorus Ensemble, it was much more satisfying than both of the Bosses and I highly recommend it.
Great demo !These are awesome pedals! Listen up people! If you "like" the hardwire pedals fan page on Facebook you have a chance to win a free hardwire effect pedal on free pedal Friday!
Everyone wondering about these - I tested all of 'em, and bought the Valve Distortion SC2... these are all very good quality, and offer a lot of sounds to choose from, and it's worth paying a bit more for them. I've compared mine with standard digitech, boss, mxr, ibanez. These are the best. Offered most and best sound quality. It's worth it. And it's very solid, I've accidentaly dropped it once, and it left a dent in a concrete floor, but had absolutely no issues after! All metal. Real solid.
@nfoley18 idk bro if it different modes you want then go with this. its is a really good pedal. all thoes modes true bypass and stereo outs!?!?
but if you wanna dial your own tone and have greater flexability to personalize your tone to your own taste. but still want stereo outputs. then id say the mxr is better for you. personally id take the mxr over this. just cause im picky but this is not a bad pedal at all.
i think this has a wider range of sounds but the boss is better for fine tuning what it has so if u are sure u like the analog boos sound then go with that but if ur not sure about what ul like than get this
This is hands down one of the best chorus pedals on the market. It really has to be heard in stereo to be truly appreciated. If you're using it only in mono, you're only getting half the tone this thing has to offer! I run 2 amps into a stereo cab and I've used this with each amp's fx loop running into this pedal and the sound is amazing. Much better than my beloved old boss CE5 and my brother's small stone. Pair it with the hardwire delay and reverb in stereo you're golden.
If you're after a completely analog type sound/build, the VS H20 is the way to go. If you want versatility with a few modern features, this pedal is probably the way to go.
Well that doesn't mean it has analog circuit inside. Digital pedals try to replicate analog effects but IMO never come close. Note when he says analog, he says "mimics bucketbrigade chips"...oh well. the pedal sounds great.
I'm new to effect pedals so can someone please answer my question? Do the settings on my amp affect the way the pedal sounds? If it does how should the settings on my amp be. Please answer.
Yes the amp is probably the 2nd most important element to effect pedals(other than effect pedals :D). It heavily affects the pedal's tone. If your amp doesn't have an effects loop (a loop on the back of the amp) keep your amp very clean. EQ it how you like:that's a matter of taste.
Yeah, I don't really dig the "Boss Super Chorus" either. Actually, I think the "Chorus Ensemble" sounds better than the super chorus - I think it's cheaper too? Idk, the super chorus is probably the weakest chorus pedal Boss ever made? IMO. haha But, this demo of the "Digitech Hardwire CR-7 Stereo Chorus" sounds pretty damn sweet!!!! I'd think about getting one if I didn't already have a TC electronic chorus plus/Flanger & the G-Major (rack) & a Boss DC-2. I mean how many choruses does 1 need?
Having not been sure what kind of chorus to step up to, I think I've found my ideal. I've been in love with the "Gish" sound and wasn't able to hit it with what I have.
Excellent videos! Thanks for giving good, clean demos of how a pedal will sound.
again nice demonstration and good incorporation of closer to the heart....i have a hardwire cm-2 it gives a great range of tone and the true bypass is genius
Watching this Hardwire pedals demos I can see clearly that many Boss pedals will be out of catalogue soon. They just can't compete with these Digitech made, not even in price therms!
Ive been slowly replacing all my boss pedals w/ the hardwire line, replaced the ds-1 w/ the metal distortion this is an awesome pedal, replaced my tube screamer w/ the valve dist. I have a chorus factory by digitech and absolutely hate it!! planning on the cr-7. after listening to this demo,,i'm sold on hardwire pedal's I've found my sound,,great pedal's
They seem very rugged actually. The knobs themselves feel like sturdy rackmount knobs (detented). The enclosure is all metal too. These are a step up from previous Digitech pedals.
@The1970sInfatuate We don't run pedals through any rigorous testing but they seem just as reliable as any Boss pedal. Yes, True Bypass is the concept of all Hardwire pedals. Thanks,
@The1970sInfatuate I love the reverb, they are nicer than boss IMO, you don't have to velcro them to your pedalboard to keep them from moving so much like the boss pedals and I know people argue but yeah the boss pedals suck tone without the true bypass
@jamiesawwn I have the Hardwire DL8 delay which shares the same build quality as the whole HW line: LIKE A TANK! You'd have to try pretty hard to hurt one.
they make a bass chorus, I honestly can't tell you one is better than the other.. I have the bass chorus and I use it for guitar too, it's a heavy tank of a pedal.. lots of options, does what it's supposed to
I tried out all the Hardwire pedals just recently and I have to say they really sound great. The Reverb, Delay and Tube Overdrive are probably the best. This Chorus version is killer too, one of the most versatile pedals I've heard in a while.
