I was there to see Marco flip in 2007. I also saw Micheal Andretti flip several times in the same turn back in 1998. The starts here at turn 3 are simply amazing, i wish they would also do restarts on the backstretch, now that they do 2-wide restarts. I will be in the esses again this year to see the mayhem.
I live in Southern California, so sadly there is not a lot of white people anywhere i go. i am white myself but it seems like the majority is now Hispanics.
@lemret it is. we have a large black population here, but they dont go to mid ohio LOL. but yea, IRL sucks. we went cuz Le Mans was the day before an we got weekend passes.
Can someone please tell me what is the best place to sit at mid ohio?? I am hoping to go to the rolex race there. I see that there are only 2 grandstands there, so is the turn 1 viewing mound the best place to see overtaking?
biggest crowd they ever had. but they don't release attendance records but they did say they were parking people in places they had never parked people before.
i agree, and did you see that bit in the program about how IRL will do 230 and F1 will only do 225? love to see F1 show up at a lame oval and run against IRL just for giggles. oh wait... IRL doesnt do standing starts.... what a shame. lol

odd thing to point out..... but since the country is 74% "white people" as you put it, there should be a lot of "white people" anywhere you go.

that was at what is called "madness" at mid ohio thats the set of turns or it may have been thunder valley but it aint turn one

Turns 3-4-5. It's where CART and IRL races start due to the shortness of the front straightaway.

its the esses. but for CART, the race starts just after the keyhole so they get that nice start down the main straight.

That was a scary crash to see on tv. Especially difficult watching Marco trapped under the car but moving his arms trying to get out (to no avail).

I was there too! Fun weekend but i miss the Champ Cars. It seems like they where faster!?

That was a joke... Champ Cars are way faster on that long straight away. And i thought the IRL cars themselves have alot to be desired......
