@skylineibz this cud of happened to any car and has, i had a simular problem on my legacy a few years bk. rovers are great cars and ppl like you are why they went out of business thinkin they where bad cars b4 u even tried one.
one will be feul pump and the other will be fuel gauge check the fuse and change the fuel pump relay this switches the pump on and off by a pressure switch on the fuel line i race 220 turbos im in buckinghamshire if you need parts give me a shout
sxxxyshaun your fuel gauge stoped working so that tells me that you have a wiring earth problem to the fuel tank get a multi meter and take your rear seat out and test the plug on the left hand side it will have 4 wires 2 black one green and one white test the resistance of the earth,
Have you got an air leak or something on it, sounds like it might be hunting for air? Or your throttle body might need adjusting, it might not be letting enough air in on idle.
Just put your hands all around your induction pipes and feel for an air leak, or get a bit of tissue and move it around all your indiction pipes and youll see it blow the tissue. And for the throttle body, i think on the 2.0 engine, there is a small grub screw that you adjust. Does it do it when cold, then once its warmed up its ok, or is it like it all the time?
ermmmm i think it did it when war also! i duno if its ran out of fuel tho coz the gauge is broke! i put a £5 in an dun about 10 miles of hard drivin so maybe its just outa fuel! havnt gt any cash til wnsday to find out!
did you do the turbo on yours yaself?

Does it smell like fuel now? If the intake mani is leaking, it will be over fuelling, and i know that engine can be quite thirsty, so maybe as you were "enthusiastic" with it the other day, you might have just ran out of fuel!!!
