He as a lawyer ( takes alot to become one) was still the best chess player in the world and left chess because he was bored. I never realized just how young Fischer was when he started crushing well-known GMs and becoming famous. He was a child. That would have been awesome to be there and witness it as it was happening.

1elchacal: As great as Capablanca was, he was eclipsed by Fischer (and subsequently by Kasparov) and he would be the first to admit it if he were alive today. That being said, I would NEVER characterize *any* chess player (past or present) as the "God of Chess" (no matter how great they are) because doing that trivializes the great game of chess.
