  • I thought you said you were drinking COFFEE? But then you said you burbped from the beer you were drinking? I think you were drinking beer, just curious

  • @paulpaul11211 It was coffee. Later in that day I was drinking beer.

  • I just redid the valves and replaced the head gasket on my 3 cyc geo. Now it Burns oil and I suspect it need new rings. Can I do the rings from the bottom with out pulling the engine out or having to pull the head again?

  • @armourdude1 Yea you have to pull your head off, it sucks but thats the only way, I did my rebuild with the motor in the car, it was easiest and less time consuming although this was a bout a 5 weekend project for me.

  • @hanksranger Thanks for the reply. I suppose it is unlikely that I would be able to reuse the head gasket I allready torque down on and driven for a week. Oh did you have to use a specail puller to get the bottom flywheel/pully off?

  • @armourdude1 If it where me I would not reuse it, but it may be fine when you get it off look it over. No, are you talking about the crank pulley? there are 5 bolts holding it in, if you have never removed it it may be a bitch to get off, but once you get the bolts out NOT the big one in the middle thats for the crank gear, it should come right out.

  • @hanksranger Thank you very much for your helpfull info. I saw the bolts on the pully and was not sure what to do with them. I suppose I could have read the book I got for the geo. When I redid the Valves took the head into school to my small engine class. i was allowed to reface and reseat the valves. That save me a small fourtune and once you know how to do it it is not that difficult if you have the correct tools. I think I will take on the Geo next week after I get a Honing tool. Thanks!

  • @armourdude1 No prob man, thanks for the sub as well. Im still fine tuning mine, they are great cars very reliable when maintained Your lucky you have the stuff and equipment available for you to rebuild the head, i didnt so I bought a remanufactured one off ebay, speaking of which you can find your hone on ebay, ball or "cherry" hones work best.

  • @hanksranger Thanks for the ebay tip i will check it out. I only paid $165.00 for the car but I had to resurrect it from the weeds along side a barn. It is rusted and there is mouse nest under the heater core that sinks awlfull. But I made my money back in fuel savings in 2 weeks of not driving my V8 to school.

Thanks for all the helpfull information. People may laugh at my car but I laugh at them while there filling thier SUVs at the pump.

  • Cool vid.

  • cool video looks like a geo would be an easier choice for a rebuild

and now it will be worth atleast twice what you paid for it

i wonder if your gas mileage will be any better?

  • @crammage Yea its been good so far, just taking my time though I really do not want to have to dive back in to this thing when all is said and done.

  • thanks for the video bud! I have to leave for work now. it does look good (so far!) lol. keep it up bud!

  • ahhhh. so when people say they have a "spun bearing", that's what they mean! lol
