  • i live in newfoundland by the water for my whole life

  • Indeed, Newfoundland & Labrador have the greatest tourism commercials

  • Planning to go in around the third week of October this year. For those who have been there, any suggestions of places to see?

Im most likely be staying in St. John's and would appreciate suggestions around the Avalon area. This is my first time going to this province!

  • Its a beautiful as I remember it from my trip! I went to that ice cream place! :D

  • I love being a Newfoundlander .

  • if only the world was really like this.

  • @MAMAMACHINE it is.

    i'm living in it

  • I can not explane what it fells like to live here you will have to come experence it to know!

    Once you go you'll know.......

  • 0:05 was shot in front of my house :) I thought it was hilarious seeing that they needed 20 - 30 people on the film crew there just to take a few seconds of footage of a boat getting hauled up the ramp.

  • creepy.......

  • We may not have the best weather here on the Rock....but the days when it's nice outside make living here all the more worthwhile.

  • I watch this often to remind myself of the incredible art that is Newfoundland. I never take for granted its beauty, but we sometimes forget that the beauty from everyday sights and sounds actually creates ART.

Oh, and my house is shown at 0:46 but my hometown is Ferryland (@TampaRed, @HarryBryan1)

  • I will be visiting newfoundland in october. Can anyone tell me if there are any sites to see in Grand Bank, for I will most likely be visiting some relatives there. So I was wondering if there was anything to do there?

  • I am planning on goin to newfoundland in october. Can anyone out there tell me if if there are any sites to see in Grand Bank? For i will motly likely be visiting reletives there.

  • The simplicity of life here (NL) is amazing. It is such an amazing place to live and raise a family, I am blessed.

  • Just got back from the Avalon Peninsula....miss it already.

  • Is it my imagination or was that Jenny Gear standing in the doorway of one of the houses? It was a little too quick to tell. This ad is a work of art... love it. It's also very true. It makes me miss the fog, late afternoon golden light, painted houses and some of the warmest people in Canada.

btw. If anyone plans on visiting save your ticket stubs from the LSPU and drinks are half price at the ship inn, or at least they were. It's been too long since I was there.

  • Newfoundland commercials always bring me pride. Especially this one. It has quite a bit of St.John's in it, which is my home town. I recognized a lot of what I saw and it made me incredibly happy to see. I think you would travel the world, yet would never find a place quite as interesting and radiant as Newfoundland and Labrador.

  • i miss you :(

  • If you wants heaven on earth, where do you come....

  • i am a newfie and i am proud of it..... I went away last year for work i was only in ontario for 4 months and i was watching this video and it made me miss newfoundland so i packed up my stuff and headed back to the rock there is nothing better then this place:)

  • @ 0:09 there is a short clip of an adult and a child standing on a wharf/stage/dock (whatever you like to call it) this is Raleigh, Newfoundland, the place where i was born and raised, this particular stage is in my backyard, no joke, directly in front of this is a road, on the other side of the road is where i lived for years:) i consider myself lucky to have grwn up in a place with such vast beauty

  • this beats Quebec city by a mile.

  • whoever made these videos is very blessed they know how to stir your imagination and sense of wonder

  • I want to go here sooo badly....it makes me cry.

  • For years now my opinion has been Newfoundland and Labrador have the best commercials on TV.

We've only been to Newfoundland and Labrador 4 times but we leave in 14 days to find a house and move there. We'll be sad to leave our friends in Ontario but we're really looking forward to living in this beautiful province in our beautiful country.

  • @HarryBryan1 Where did you decide to move to?

  • @TampaRed - We're going to Ferryland!

    Thanks for asking.

  • @HarryBryan1 Ferryland is a lovely spot. A pre-arrival welcome to good ol' Newfoundland! Don't forget to git yer moose, b'y!

  • @TampaRed - Thank you. Where are you from?

  • @HarryBryan1 Despite my username (which is the name of an old Bluesman) I'm from Carbonear in Conception Bay North. Lovely spot, too.

  • @TampaRed We looked around there as well - actually from Ferryland to Twillingate. The one we got was the one my wife liked best. Typical.

  • @HarryBryan1 I happened over this video again, had forgotten about it and our little back'n'forth. How's the new life in Ferryland?

  • @HarryBryan1 So how is Newfoundland treating you? Im American, but Im seriously considering a move myself.

  • @vintagedesert - It's going very well. We're loving it here. The scenery and the people and compared to a lot of the rest of the country and the U.S. seaboard the weather are all great too! We've already met a number of people from South Carolina who summer here and a few from the Boston area who moved here year round a number of years ago. I can't say everyone would love it here especially those who have a penchant for big cities but it's good for us right now.

  • @vintagedesert We have everything you need, supermarkets, fresh blueberries in agusut, cornor stores, all the things to live a life. We have basic luxuaries, like salons, and everything you could ;possibly need

but if you move to newfoundland you gotta remember that it's more nature like. I live in the capaital city where its the most urban lifestyle but nooneless it could never compare to new york city.

  • @HarryBryan1 best decision you'll ever make!

  • One of the most emotional commercials I have ever seen.

  • I believe the song's name is called "Imaginary Picnic" from Eric Harry

  • @gox123

thank you so much. It is Imaginary Picnic, But the version in iTune is different from the AD. I guess it must be some heavy editing. Again Thanks

  • Does anyone know the name of the music? It is just so beautiful and make me want to move there...

  • I LOVE these ads.... magnifique!

  • My father edits all of these commercials :)

I remember sitting in his office watching him cut the clip with the boat being hauled up the dock.

These commercials perfectly describe the feelings I have towards my home. I want to go back so badly.

  • MissSoggyMuffin your Father does a wonderful job ..Cheers !

  • @MissSoggyMuffin

I there I was wondering if you could tell me the names of places in these commercials. I am planning on staying here in Newfoundland for a few months and would love to tour all these places.

    Thanks\

  • :')

  • This is what i want to wake up to every morning for the rest of my life

  • @Stouters61 :-) this IS what I wake up to every morning. I have been here 2 years now and look forward to spending the rest of my life here. I have lived across this amazing country but my home is in Newfoundland.

  • Yes, St John's has that character. Like the video.....MikeMadigan of the SharecropperTrio at triple w thesharecroppers dot n e t

  • :: Points at 00:4 :: So THAT'S what they were shooting! hahaha .. That's the view from my kitchen window :D

  • :: kicks the stupid posting boxes ::

  • I'm in love with this commercial andespecially the song, if anyone could possibly find the song please post it

  • I'm originally from Nova Scotia, but now call Newfoundland home.

The province is definitely beautiful, especially in Western Newfoundland, and the culture and accents are unique to the rest of Canada.

Definitely love the new provincial government watermark as it has a Celtic look to it.

As for the tourism videos, Gros Morne National Park and Viking Settlement both situated in the Northern Peninsula are definitely the best.

  • @HalifaxHercules meh st johns isnt that great ive lived here my whole life and it's really beginning to become full of drugs and crime!!! the rest of newfoundland is amazing though!!!!

  • i've decided to move to nfld because of this video

  • Ridiculously beautiful. I absolutely love the east coast, and NFLD in particular has an excellent charm. I hope it never loses it, either.

  • The music and images are married perfectly fo each other, nice commercial for a change. Makes me want to visit which I quess was the whole point. I can always tell when a commercial is well done when my two little boys stop playing or fighting briefly to watch. Soon as it's over their back at it.

  • Beautifully shot; colours really pops.

  • Yeah same I'm really trying to find out the song but couldn't find anything. Does anybody know what song this is?

  • Does anyone know the music?

  • Awesome. Probably the best NL tourism video I have ever seen. I think it is because while the nature and culture/heritage are certainly in the background, it really emphasizes the people which is what sets it apart.

  • @nankypooh you hit it on the nail!!!! ive travelled all over this world yet the only spot someone says thank you if you hold a door open for them is right here at home in newfoundland!!!
